Wow, the final project turned out amazing. I would cover that in varnish and protectants and keep it in the family. Imagine 75 years later a skeliton horse is dug out of the attic again for the newest family member!
Drawing skeletons is hard, simplifying the design to something cohesive is harder. And you did it! I love this project. I'm trying to gear up to paint flowers on a nightstand, so this is a good accompaniment. Monty & Sev cameos are always a delight. I'm glad they enjoyed it.
That would be fun! I wonder if there was a way to make it interactive to teach words. Like, a magnet on the inside, a magnetic planchard and you spell out "Woof" for example and ask the kid to spell the animal that makes that sound (D-O-G).
THAT'S INSANE! Honestly! It was worth all the effort you out into it and it turned out perfect. Love both of your children's reactions they're adorable. Plus it has more sentimental value than buying one. They can now grow up saying their mummy painted that for them!
Severine and Monty are so sweet 🖤 Your talents never cease to amaze me, you always tackle projects and execute them so well--even when resources are limited and you feel a project is beyond your abilities.
Thank you for this video! Your children are so cute riding the horse and you have excellent drawing and painting skills. This little rocking horse could not be more perfect and beautiful. What a good job!
I just found your videos--this being the first one I've watched. You say in the video, apologetically, that you're not an artist. I'm a professional artist...and I beg to differ. You sketch-out and inpaint those horse bones with finesse. Great conversion of a forlorn old toy into something both cute and magnificent.
11:27 OMG I remember you saying at her birth that the doctors thought she would never be verbal!!!! I squeed like a little girl myself when she said horse! Congratulations!
Man I want one now then I would make a little saddle to go on top of it so my daughter can actually put a saddle on it and put a bridal on it. That is so so. I've now thinking of going to find one myself and do this cos I think it's really awesome. It would be looked really cool with just it's back tail in Black. ❤
I would make the outside of the toy box look like a monster, and when you open the lid, you see the inside of the mouth/teeth and with the lid is closed you just see fangs and maybe the eyes painted on? The rocking horse is absolutely divine!!
With the toy box, you can pick up some wooden appliques to glue on the corners, or even the center of the box, then paint the whole thing black. I've done this before and the technique looks very gothic baroque.
Love love love your creepy horse! Maybe paint the toybox with chalk paint, paint your skulls, bone animals around the edge in acrylic ,maybe the kids star signs then let them chalk their own pick that can be wiped off each time. For ever changing art work.. you certainly rocked that rocking horse!!
Okay but you did such a marvelous job! It looks amazing and the children will look back with fondness that their mom made this for them! Absolutely love it!
Omg I used to watch your videos YEARS ago I think nearly a decade ago or so now? Glad this was recommended to me!! Your children are so cute and the rocking horse turned out beautiful! ❤
For the toy box a coffin might be cool especially if it's full of "unalive" toys. If you enjoy crafting and painting have you ever thought about maybe when the kids are older and in school possibly doing it as a side business? You're pretty good at it and have really creative ideas!
I'm obsessed! And for the plain white toy box, I would paint it like a grey stone mausoleum you can attach crown molding for more detail or just paint it on. "Here lies boredom" or "memento mori" or you favorite childhood gothy quote on the front
The white chest you could paint black and glue on lace and little soft goth things to make it the toys "resting place"! My mom made my toy box the toys "bed" because it really helped me put them away and interact with the box like another toy!
You have to make a gdiy video every other week...because you are a genius! And man, I'll never forget the day you were preggers with your girl and you fixed your Chrysler like a boss! Goth DYI QUEEEEN!
You've seriously outdone yourself with your craftiness! This is the cutest thing I've ever seen 😍 💀🖤🤍 You're children are beautiful thank you for sharing! 🖤🤍
It shows how much of a great mom you are for doing this time consuming project to put a smile on their faces and also decorate the room! The toy box I would try to decoupage some skulls or a skeleton unicorn lol
Oh my goodness!!!!!!!! This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!!!!! The babies are soooooo incredibly adorable!!!! You are very very talented!!!!! Most precious little gothic babies in the whole world!!!! I miss my grandkids being little!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Omg the horse looks so cute!! For the toy box, you could go the decoden route and use caulking with gems and other bits and bobs to give the appearance of fake sweets. Obviously once it has completely set it should be safe for children, just as long as you don't put on gems small enough that could fall off and be swallowed. The silhouette could also be reminiscent of rococo too
I think with the toy box it should remain white except for the top painted black with the black dripping down making it look like it is overflowing with darkness or something.
I'm so glad you varnished it! The whole time I was watching I was thinking "this is incredible AND so much work, I hope she seals it." This is absolutely gorgeous, and it seems like the littles already love it!
I think you did an amazing job! I've been painting a miniature rocking horse with a skeleton for a day of the dead design, and you're not joking with how intricate a horse skeleton is!
For the toybox, you could trace arches and filigree like what you would see in old church stained glass framing? Or perhaps the stencil on a decorative wrought iron fencing pattern and paint the white to be more of a stormy grey? Also, you did marvelously with your rocking horse!
The toy chest could be so fun as a treasure chest. antiquey, a little bit steampunk. Add some 3-D details like leather straps or iron corner reinforcements, keyhole and escutcheon plate, etc. (use craft foamie sheets painted)
I love this idea! Maybe bats & a gothic wrought iron fence on the outside, and when you open it, a night sky on the underside of the lid, and little graveyard & purple flowers on the inside?
This is amazing! I would have this in my house as an ornament (my daughter is now 10) - I’ve always loved carousel and rocking horses and think they make such a lovely Victorian touch. You did an incredible job, I hope the little ones get many hours of fun out of the fruits of your labour 🖤
For that box I think it would be really cool if you found some vintage type handles to glue on the sides and you could find a Victorian style wallpaper online to print off and make a stencil out of and spray paint the pattern onto it. Painting tricks I've picked up as someone who is also no artist! haha
The horse turned out so beautiful, and your children are adorable. I love Severine’s outfit 💜. For the box you could decoupage some cool spooky images onto it that you think would be fun for your children. Lovely to see you again sweetie 💜💜🦇
You just made me get into a whole store idea. Making skeleton goth kids stuff. OMG you are a dark saint!!! Thank you for helping me apark that idea. Those would make for good videos on my YT channel.
I personally think you should paint the toybox, black and put like little skeleton decorations, all around it and on the inside like a velvet type of fabric, you know what I mean make sure it’s aligned with pul underneath of the velvet it will help keep the box waterproof, but it will make a really cute toy box. We did something similar with my kids, and they love their toybox.
What a special gift for your children! You did a fantastic job! Did it take you a long time?? So glad your kids love it! Rocking horses are always fun!
I actually like your design much more than the reference photo! It's simple, but accurate enough, cute and creepy at the same time. Looks like a little playful mate also -- insanely cute with children playing with it :) For the toy box I would try to do something medival/cathedral looking -- something like a cathedral stained glass window (to paint everything black and then paint colourfull patches that would represent "glass"). Maybe a dragon and knight on a horse identical to the Skeleton Rocking Horse? Maybe gothic princess also to represent both your kids? Or a simpler design to just turn it into the castle with bats flying around - you may even cut out little windows or glue fluffy bats on :) Or maybe to just paint a maze and mice in it, paint it with this chalk board paint to allow your kids to doodle the solutions or smth. The ouija like alphabet that someone suggested before is also an amazing idea :)
Oh my gosh this is absolutely fantastic. You did an amazing. I am so glad the wee ones loved it to! Defo more of this..... Maybe a Gothic Home making collab with Voltaire??!
You did amazing with the horse!!! You got the skull spot on! For the toy box, my kid's toy box is just painted plain black. The inside is bright yellow, though.
“I’m not an artist”
*proceeds to make an impecable job*
Exactly!
“I’m not an artist” - I beg to differ! 🤯
So cool.i love it
For the toy box, I think it would be really cool to make it look like a gothic pirate chest.
I was thinking black with lace trim hanging off the edges, sort of picnic basket-esqe
I was thinking this, get some gothic garden gate hinge plates to attach to it too!
Coffin ⚰️
Paint a gothic castle scene with a spooky garden
That a great idea
I am so thankful that she's still making quality content all these years later and that she still finds time for us even while raising a family. 🖤 🖤 🖤
Wow, the final project turned out amazing. I would cover that in varnish and protectants and keep it in the family. Imagine 75 years later a skeliton horse is dug out of the attic again for the newest family member!
It is varnished, I hope it lasts a long time!
@@itisblackfriday Ha yeah. I feel silly typing that now because an ad happened right before I saw the varnish spray can. So I took the break to type.
It's so nice tho, really. Hope it ends up being an heirloom.
That sounds like a nice challenge! And thanks :D
For the toybox, you could paint it black and have the front be a ouija board. Has all the letters and numbers on it, so it can be doubly educational
Nice idea, yes educational 😄
Oh! That's such a cute idea! A gothic alphabet
That would be fun! I wonder if there was a way to make it interactive to teach words. Like, a magnet on the inside, a magnetic planchard and you spell out "Woof" for example and ask the kid to spell the animal that makes that sound (D-O-G).
Or maybe instead of the abc's you can write you childrens names on the box?
I like this. Do this.
I think the toy box would look really good if you painted Victorian silhouette portraits of your children with a gothic frame around each of them
Cool idea
THAT'S INSANE! Honestly! It was worth all the effort you out into it and it turned out perfect. Love both of your children's reactions they're adorable. Plus it has more sentimental value than buying one. They can now grow up saying their mummy painted that for them!
Thank you! Hopefully it will have a long happy (after) life!
Severine and Monty are so sweet 🖤
Your talents never cease to amaze me, you always tackle projects and execute them so well--even when resources are limited and you feel a project is beyond your abilities.
Thank you for this video! Your children are so cute riding the horse and you have excellent drawing and painting skills. This little rocking horse could not be more perfect and beautiful. What a good job!
Thanks very kindly!
Phenomenal.. absolutely love it... They are so precious in the end. 🎉

You sketch-out and inpaint those horse bones with finesse. Great conversion of a forlorn old toy into something both cute and magnificent.
Thank you kindly! 😊
For the toy box, perhaps a Gothic cathedral window, or crenelations of a medieval castle?
You did amazing on making this! It came out so cute!
11:27 OMG I remember you saying at her birth that the doctors thought she would never be verbal!!!! I squeed like a little girl myself when she said horse! Congratulations!
They're so precious and you're an artist that is incredible and spooky cool 🦇🦇🦇🦇
The kids, at the end, have so much fun! My gothic little heart! You did so very well! ❤❤❤❤
Man I want one now then I would make a little saddle to go on top of it so my daughter can actually put a saddle on it and put a bridal on it. That is so so. The rocking horse is absolutely divine!!
as an equestrian, can confirm that horse skeletons sure are something lol
that looks absolutely FANTASTIC! you did such a great job and i have no children but am incredibly jealous.
Same hehe I couldn’t agree more!
With the toy box, you can pick up some wooden appliques to glue on the corners, or even the center of the box, then paint the whole thing black. I've done this before and the technique looks very gothic baroque.
The kids LOVE it! You did an amazing job 🖤
Neeeeigh 🐎
As a horse girl and an artist, you did SO good! Horses are hard to draw no matter if it's skeleton or flesh. You made it look so easy to do!
Oh my gosh! That came out great! I'm glad the kids liked it. They're so cute. I just love your little girl's name.
Absolutely amazing gothic refurbishment. You've done a fantastic job.
That's a seriously good idea!
3 ideas for that toy box: 1. Coffin/casket, 2. a Debek box , and 3. A Gothic themed Mimic
Omg I'm absolutely obsessed! It came out perfect! So so good. Those little babes are beautiful 🖤🖤
Thank you!
Paint the box black with a large white bat on each side and inside the lid. The rocking horse is amazing!
Okay but you did such a marvelous job! It looks amazing and the children will look back with fondness that their mom made this for them! Absolutely love it!
Hopefully they'll keep it for themselves or if they have kids one day. I still have my old rocking horse from the 80s that was a relic then.😊
Omg I used to watch your videos YEARS ago I think nearly a decade ago or so now? Glad this was recommended to me!! Your children are so cute and the rocking horse turned out beautiful! ❤
Welcome back! x

Hahaha thank you!
Make the box a tombstone pleaaaseeeeee
It would look so cute 😭
Great music choice at the beginning, the phantom does deserve a moment on this channel.
I'm going to attempt this for my winter project. I hope i can do half as well as you did. Bravo! Fantastic work!
Your drawing and painting skills are terrific 👌 The rocking horse looks tremendous! 🖤☠️🐴 Seeing the happiness on your wee ones faces was glorious 😊
Thanks so much!
@@itisblackfriday 🖤
I saw someone with the idea of a spooky gothic pirate chest for that toy chest and that seems like an amazing idea
That horse is very well done and I did look up a picture of a horse skeleton!
That is legit incredible!! U could sell these! Your very talented
You've seriously outdone yourself with your craftiness! This is the cutest thing I've ever seen 😍 💀🖤🤍
You're children are beautiful thank you for sharing! 🖤🤍
It shows how much of a great mom you are for doing this time consuming project to put a smile on their faces and also decorate the room! The toy box I would try to decoupage some skulls or a skeleton unicorn lol
See I always wanted something spooky and cute like this as a wee thing but my mom and dad would just respond with “ha no 😀”
We have to make up for these things in adulthood :p
you are such a cool mom 🥺 i would've loved this as a kid. horses AND spooky? your kids are so lucky 🥺🥺🥺
Freya, this is amazing! You are such an amazing mother. ❤️ i hope we see more "turning boring kids toys into Goth toys" videos. 🖤🤍🖤
I have recently discovered using one of those cheap deposable nail files does a decent job when lightly sanding something. 😊
The final product looks amazing!! And your kids are so cute playing on it.
You are an artist! I love the 4 shirts I bought from you. Always get compliments on them.
Thank you so much! 😚
i wonder what happens if one of the kids grows up to become a pink girl. reminds me of a show my parents used to watch! nice work
Since the toybox houses several toys, how about painting it like a cemetery or even a mausoleum?
Seeing a child in all black is awesome lol idk why but it reminds me of the 1800’s

It looks absolutely amazing! It is so cute and the kids looked like they had so much fun!
I can’t believe how big your babies have grown! Feels like you just told us their birthday stories 🥲
I think with the toy box it should remain white except for the top painted black with the black dripping down making it look like it is overflowing with darkness or something.
it needs a stubby little tail made of white lace and ribbon!!!
I loved the "these brushes revealing their cheapness" It looks beautiful.
I'm so glad you varnished it! The whole time I was watching I was thinking "this is incredible AND so much work, I hope she seals it."
This is absolutely gorgeous, and it seems like the littles already love it!
It turned out INCREDIBLE! How cute the babies are, I laughed with the baby, how sweet they are hahaha
I think you did an amazing job! I've been painting a miniature rocking horse with a skeleton for a day of the dead design, and you're not joking with how intricate a horse skeleton is!

For the toy box maybe a open coffin?
The toy chest could be so fun as a treasure chest. antiquey, a little bit steampunk. Add some 3-D details like leather straps or iron corner reinforcements, keyhole and escutcheon plate, etc. (use craft foamie sheets painted)
You are very talented! think for the toy box a night sky with a graveyard and flying bats x
I love this idea! Maybe bats & a gothic wrought iron fence on the outside, and when you open it, a night sky on the underside of the lid, and little graveyard & purple flowers on the inside?
You did brilliantly! You have no idea the joy I got when you sealed it with spray varnish.
This is amazing! I would have this in my house as an ornament (my daughter is now 10) - I’ve always loved carousel and rocking horses and think they make such a lovely Victorian touch. You did an incredible job, I hope the little ones get many hours of fun out of the fruits of your labour 🖤
I agree halloween gifts should be a thing! I love this DIY you did awesome! 🖤
the truth of the matter is, you are a phenomenal mom. the horse is fabulous, but that is just a perk 💙
For that box I think it would be really cool if you found some vintage type handles to glue on the sides and you could find a Victorian style wallpaper online to print off and make a stencil out of and spray paint the pattern onto it. Painting tricks I've picked up as someone who is also no artist! haha
I must also remark, it's crazy how big your kids are already! It feels like you were just announcing your pregnancy with Severine a few days ago
OMG! Your children are absolutely adorable!!! You did a phenomenal job on the rocking horse!!
Beautifully done! For the toy box, I think a wrap around image of a graveyard or tombstones would be cool

It took aaaages 🥲
@@itisblackfriday a labor of love for sure

Paint the toy box black and paint it with white bats and write their names on it or something in an interesting font
Just found your channel and absolutely love your aesthetic and your kids are adorable! Big hello from Nova Scotia
Love this!!-- And the icing on the cakes were the babies playing and approval. You are awesome!!🖤 It looks incredible.
Oh my gosh this is absolutely fantastic. You did an amazing. I am so glad the wee ones loved it to! Defo more of this..... Maybe a Gothic Home making collab with Voltaire??!
Amazing Job! Severine seems so happy with it
Oh wow! You did such a beautiful job. And your precious babies obviously agree! Good mama.
Very cool. I love ur channel. So refreshing. No drama, just cool content. Ur children are absolutely beautiful. Good mamma
Thank you! xx
You did a really great job on that. As for the toy box maybe a nice picture of some playful and silly bats and pumpkins.
You did amazing with the horse!!! You got the skull spot on! For the toy box, my kid's toy box is just painted plain black. The inside is bright yellow, though.
I love what you did to the rocking horse.
The toy box could be a coffin, or a batcave. Or a huge headstone. 🖤🤘
It's so cute and cool!
I think you did an amazing job! This looks so freaking cool!
I love projects like this looks like you had fun making it too
This looks amazing, I definitely want to try making one. I'd hang onto that as an ornament when the kids have grown out of it.
Oh man I love it!
Her saying horse 🥺😢 so precious
OH MY GOSH!!! THAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ROCKING HORSE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! AND YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AN AMAZING ARTIST!!! 🖤🖤🖤
Love that purple lip, such a pretty color.
I think you did a good job painting the horse. Your children are so beautiful. Hope they like riding the horse.
You could put a spooky wallpaper on the box. Or decoupage a bunch of stuff.
your attention to detail is great. Severine is such a cutie, as is her little brother, so nice to see them both
