It's sad that so many items are cheaply made because they intend on the clothes quickly falling apart, requiring you to buy more. I want my clothes to last longer than a year and a half 😢 Edit: I very seldom buy fast fashion primarily because I'm broke and don't need more stuff, but it's a sad issue all the way around. Slaves make our poorly made clothes because they're cheaper than quality made items so we end up having to throw half our wardrobe in the trash (unless you're a crafty hoarder like myself and reuse it). Summer clothes are made of plastic and aren't breatheable, winter clothes are thin and fragile. It's why I personally wear hand-me-downs and thrifted clothes. I'd rather dye a skirt and sew ruffles to it myself than spend $35 on one that barely fits and will fall apart upon the second wear.
It's weird how quality can be unpredictable too. I have things from Primark that I've happily worn for a decade and then bought things from more expensive brands like Killstar that have immediately broken. I suppose one thing with gothic fashion is that it tends to involve more different fabrics, metal details, buttons etc and those break more easily than simple stuff. And any mass-made thing is never going to be quite right I guess. These days I try to go more for indie brands, homemade stuff, secondhand etc but it can be hard especially if you're not a body shape that most clothes are designed for.
@@Sophie_Cleverly Right? Whatever happened to DIY? OG goth was like that cos they didn't have a Killstar, they had to thrift it and add on. This recent trend of cheap, expensive goth shops is a slap in the face. Now people think they aren't goth if their clothes don't come from Devil In closet, Punkrave etc. All you need is a good pair of boots and basic sewing skills. Sod these fast fashion brands, they cheapen the subculture.
I keep seeing people say this and it really makes me wonder what the hell people are doing with their clothes to make them fall apart lol, I've never had that happen even with shitty cheap clothes! The worst I've had has been fake leather cracking and crumbling after some time, but nothing more than that.
That’s why I have & will always go for thrift stores. It’s an extreme rarity to find shirts, jackets & even shoes that are not only aesthetically appealing but comfortable to wear. But it does happen :3
My issue with Romwe is that most of their stuff is cheaply made with cheap fabric which is why their stuff is cheaply priced. The same with SHIEN. The thing I hate is that most of the clothes are made out of the stretchy bathing suit type material and it just feels cheap. It gives “Halloween costume” and it’s certainly not made for long time wear. With that being said, if you needed to get something for a one time wear or a night out it’s not too bad but the quality of their stuff isn’t consistent
I've bought a few things from Romwe and I've found that their velvet and mesh things are pretty decent, at least I've never been disappointed by them so far. But many things that are like a thinner material (such as the layered skirt you showed) tend to be subpar quality with weird plastic-y fabric that really feels cheap. I've gotten pretty good at seeing in pictures whether something will be okay quality or not, and customer photos help a LOT since product photos often make things look better than they really are
crazy how the prices have gone up even at those super cheap china sites... like those dresses that you said were 20 bucks would've been 5 bucks on romwe a few years ago
i just want to leave a little comment to let you know ive been watching your videos for almost 10 years. you are my very most favorite yotutuber. i love every video you put out! im so very thankful that you share your life and make vidoes for all to see. thank you thank you. i hope you see this and it makes your smile the way you have made me smile again and again year after year!
I've bought stuff from romwe. T-shirts, dresses, shoes, homeware and so on. I quite like majority of things. Mesh things are good for hot days. Overall I'm satisfied with the stuff I have bought.
Unfortunately there's no ethical consumption under capitalism. Now I'm not saying that you should say "fuck it" and but what you want without a care But as long as poverty exist fast fashion will thrive. I try to shop at thrift stores but being plus size makes it extremely difficult. The only thing I can say is that buy what you need and not what you want and do your research about what clothing ideas have been stolen. I more so give the side eye to these well-off tik tok influencers who do $3-$500 fast fashion hauls and promote these companies to their audience and don't give honest reviews
As a plus size girlie it annoys me too with how many cropped items are focused on us, when quite a lot of plus size girls wouldn't like to show their stomach off (I know some are comfortable with that, and that's fair play to you!) The stitches around the breasts are also annoying as a larger chested woman, I often see cute clothing and then as soon as I notice stitching around the breasts, it puts me off because it'd look silly on me. 😅 I have ordered from Romwe a couple of times and one time was a hit and the other a miss, I think I have a similar experience with Shein too.
@hmpz36911 I agree. Some can really pull off the layering of crop top and extras to make really nice outfits, I wish I had a better eye for fashion myself! 😂
I own a different print fabric version of the second dress you tried, with skulls and roses, and as a pear-shape ghoul, I really like the small cup design as I often find similar style dresses too big for my bust. I don't really like buying from Shein, but I do find the abundance of reviews and customer photos can be really helpful in ensuring a flattering design and right sizing for details such as those. 😊😊
ive gotten a couple things from them once in a blue moon, and i was pretty unsure but one thing did surprise me, a small little corset looking waist belt that i love! it hasnt fallen apart yet and i really love it i really enjoy this series
The thing I've found with stuff off romwe etc is the only thing they are mostly good for and unfortunately it falls into a select category of people: it's a fast cheap way of getting a clothing pattern to sew your own cheaply. Unpick the items and make it in fabric you like. It's rare to find items you like..I don't mind getting some things from romwe. But not all the time.theres loads of stuff looks mega then get it it's nothing like the online pictures. And also a lot are made of crap fabric. Which is why it's good for using the clothing for cheap fabric patterns to then remake the clothes to your own desires in better fabric.
Seem like most items were good. I usually check reviews and pics plus sizing tabel before I do order, no matter if it's Shein or Romwee. And I haven't been directly disappointed, when I do those things I mentioned. Of course, taking care about the clothes make them last longer and not to "over wash" them either. Hope you had a great start of 2024 gorgeous ✨️✨️🦇🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇✨️✨️
Yess another sh*t or legit video!! The pieces you got are pretty especially the cape. I would buy that for sure. I have bought some fast fashion items and if they don’t fit or I don’t like the way they look I always donate them so others can make a style out of it. Thrifting is always my go to tho so I’ll just keep doing that.
the romwe i bought was fairy core and some hippy trippy stuff, really good stretchy quality. it has been abused (by me, paint, dryer, harsh tempratures in the washing machine blabla ) haha . it will!Last for a long time i'm sure.
I got some Romwe stuff for my last renaissance faire visit. Stuff was nice but I didn't feel horrible about unavailability of getting mud on things because it was raining when we went.
I avoided Shein/Romwe for so long because I assumed everything was ultra shit... but I went on a bit of a grief-fueled bender and bought a shit-ton from them once. It was actually... kinda... good? I was pleasantly surprised, and discovered I really love sheer sweaters. Still not a company I would recommend if you have the means to pay and support ethical production, but if you're broke as shit or wanting to throw together a quick wardrobe to get a boost of gender euphoria, I think they're pretty decent.
It's just practice, it took me an hour to get one in the first time I tried, then I had to get someone to remove it for me lol. You get used to it surprisingly quickly :)
I threw a pair away because they only lasted 3 months... and I could never stick them in my eyes! Could be because the contacts were bigger than my eyes? 😂
I have some Romwe clothing too that's printed on the one side, whit on the other. I hand wash these items in cold water then dry on a drying rack in the house. I wouldn't put them in the dryer or hand outside on a clothesline. Most of these clothes are for the moment, but can last if care is taken. Shein clothes are pretty similar in these respects as well. They do make some cute goth clothes though. I like the capelet. (Jan Griffiths).

Quite surprisingly the few pieces if got from Romwe are holding up really good and actually better than some other brands i bought from. The leggins I got from there are super comfortable, flexible and relative good quality. The leggins i got from ReStyle all fell apart after like 5 to 6 wears. Super disappointing
I have a long black velvet skirt very similar to that one you tried on, except mine has white crosses on instead of red, is longer and much fuller. I think it was originally from Omen clothing. Romwe have clearly ripped off the design of this skirt but have made it shorter and less flared so they use less fabric and can therefore sell it cheaper.
All of those clothes are very cute! But to be honest, I'd rather purchase clothing from Killstar, and Dolls Kill etc. I wonder if the clothing with the failing buttons and zippers could be mended with better zippers and the like? Please do continue with this series. 🙂🖤
So the fabric you were talking about with the white on one side and the print on the other will actually last about as long as the garment itself, and it's a method called sublimation printing. They have to use white polyester for this method, but the longevity is worth it!
My experience with Shein is its just hit or miss. The jewelry is amazing, some of the shoes are and things like cardigans are usually decent and have gotten great stockings, hair accessories, etc.
I've been debating buying from romwe for a while, mostly to buy stuff to practice my DIY skills on. I might give it a try now that it's got that (tentative) rating
great video Friday been enjoying this series so far! i have some stuff from Romwe, they have some cute stuff & i hope you are having a Happy New Year so far Love ya bat sister!
I am a goth mom with four beautiful children I cannot afford the best of goth so I make the best of what I can get Shein or second hand I can't spend 70.00 on a top and 130.00 dollars on a pair of shoes as long as it looks good is comfortable and reasonably priced I will try it 🎉
I buy a lot of my clothes from Romwe. I hand wash everything. But their long sleeves are really great, I avoid buying anything online that looks too fancy with lace and such from websites like this because of the way they fashion it for photos. I have no issue with Romwe though.
I'm totally against fast fashion even if some of that clothes looks good and seems to be made in "not so cheap materials", but most of them don't. We should be aware about fast fashion before buying these products.
I honestly think being a goth is the only sustainable fashion. Here me out: Goths have one theme, no set fashion; we keep pieces for years, we treasure stuff and usually sell stuff on or buy second hand, upcycling and customizing along the way. Not to mention the amount of things i have bought again as i wear them to death. Yes Romwe/Shein are an issue, but growing up a poor goth kid, and now plus size shopper, it gives SO MUCH option! Granted, some bits are awful and i have sent them back, but the items I have kept have lasted and become part of my wardrobe! And the accessories and bags! SO GOOD. I think as long as you are mindful of what you buy, not hauling and buying because it is cheap it can be a good option. It's more about self editing, which i think is a Goth fashion trait more so than regular fashion, just be aware. I myself also make a lot of my own clothes, buy from small goth places (When I have the money to invest) and still have to brave the highstreet for any slight goth basics i can find. Well done for a good video on this subject!
Poor quality fabrics are the BANE of my existence (well, that, and unnecessarily noisy things). With my height, ive pretty much decided i have to hunt really hard for my favored black skinny jeans (i wear tall. 35 or 36 inch inseam), and if i want waistcoats and tailcoats, i will need to sew them myself. Now to decide which fabric to purchase…i cant abide synthetic fibers I also have to buy long sleeves in tall. Even for unisex tshirts i need tall if i dont want to show my underwear (which peaks out under my size tall highwaisted jeans??)
I mean, most clothes come from China anyway, so maybe its not even a real knockoff, its just the same clothes but without the label attached to it. I already saw some people going to well known stores and bought some clothes (expensive) and then found the same product in those sites from China (really cheap) and compared the two, and they were the same quality and everything else, so you can take it they came from the same factory in China, but you may be paying the expensive price just for a different label in the back of it.
say what you want about temu and how ethical it is and all that, but it's kind of like google, where it's just so so convenient to get the right size. Shopping in person feels like I'm trying to google something by looking it up in the library. It's just so much work with all the vanity sizing, and having 3 basic sizes for every size, shape, and weight of woman. It's literally easier to eyeball a shein outfit online than an outfit eyeball it on a hanger in the store, and I think that's why they sell so much even though everyone complains about them.
honestly, even from the video the clothes look very cheap and low quality. It also sounds like it's just mass produced (ultra) fast fashion like shein, which I really wouldn't buy...
I love your videos! We have bought quite a bit from Romwe too. Myself in the plus sizes and my 18 yr old in regular sizes. My daughter is actually wearing the snake cami now lol. It is totally a crop which is the only reason I haven't bought it too. Middle age and 5 kids, yeah no crops here. I love the cross skirt, I was on the fence before but I might actually have to spring for it. It's winter up here so that would be perfect. I too though have found the quality hit or miss but it works with my budget. I can tailor some stuff if needed though so I don't mind :)
Before i watched this video i already ordered some of this stuff from shein and I'm glad you made a video about this now i know what to watch out for when ordering next time
I bought many stuff from ROMWE, I like this brand. Not the best for quality, but "acceptable" 😉 I love your reviews. you are always really cool F. !!! I trust your judgment and I always follow your advice 🖤
You verified what I thought. These fabric are the cheapest possible, all plastik, and the Cuts are less than thoughtful, it is not your body. Thank you for doing this!
Where did you get those sleeve only things to cover your arms for the sleeveless clothes? I also hate showing my arms, and I feel like owning something like that would be a life saver 🙏
I actually considered buying from them but as soon as you said there is a connection to Shein I was disappointed. I just really don't want to support shops like those :( sad
As someone who doesn’t wear goth type clothing daily, but occasionally and have a teen daughter that also dresses more goth on occasion, we love Romwe and SHEIN. The cost is perfect for us. I’d give anything to be able to afford higher end designer stuff but I can’t.
I buy regularly from shein. But not trendy items. I buy items I truly like and and fit into my cultivated over the years goth style. I read reviews, look at all descriptions, measurements and materials, pictures etc before purchasing a garment. I have only had 2 items that really disappointed me. The items black friday chose I would never buy because I know the fabrics are really cheap. But that's nothing against her at all. There is enough there to dive deeply into and come up with some very well made long lasting items. And as prices go up even in thrift we'll as a plus size tall goth woman ill buy where I need to. I've had worse experience with killstar than shein.
Can you sew? You could add some light boning to the black velvet top at 8:40 to help keep that fabric from rolling down. And some lace detailing at the bottom to elongate it.
I liked the cape, long skirt and leggings - leggings with a longish top and some nice boots. The rest of the stuff looked pretty illfitting, and I agree with your comments on how items were cut, that waistcoat thing was odd, the front was better than the back. I shall have to watch more of your legit or S**t vids
I have a romwe dress in my closet right now with the tags still on that I haven't tried on yet. I bought it with some other shein stuff but have hesitated because it's a halter top style. I'm like you and don't wear anything exposing my arms so I also wear a bolero or jacket over the top. This dress I have has a long zipper down the front so now I'm scared...lol. Cheap clothes and zippers aren't usually great mixes.
Super excited to see you do a clothing hall , I absolutely love the clothes you tried on you look amazing as always. Also, it'd be cool if Mr Owl did a men's clothing hall . Ps you and Mr Owl are absolutely amazing and awesome 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🤩🤩🤩🤩🖤🖤🖤🖤
Love all your videos!! You are my favorite on you tube!!! I trust your opinion on clothes!! These videos are VERY important. I don't have much money and YOU are helping me save it!! Thank you so much....
Crop Tops actually look best with high waisted fluffy/ flowy skirts on a curvy figure. For me it's either below butt length and longer or cropped. Standard length looks awkward on me.
I don't blame you! I'm overweight Myself and I ABSOLUTELY HATE exposing ANY kind or amount of skin PERIOD at ANY given time! I don't mind being covered up in public, but on My balcony at home, I'll dress down. 🤔🥰🤗💖
Love this series! Those spiderweb leggings remind me of the fake black milk leggings back in the 2010s. The white fabric would start showing through after a few washes.
Companies like Romwe, Shein, and the like are definitely hit or miss when it comes to pricing, quality, and originality. If you shop them, you shouldn't shop with high expectations.
Hi Black Friday, my name is Mello and I start working a new job soon and am able to dress a bit more goth thankfully. Can you show some examples of some romantic and trad goth outfits that are appropriate for work please? Thank you and have a good day!

For the price, pretty legit. VF (Vampire Freaks) would charge 4 or 5 times as much.
Ahahaha! Didn't expect that verdict... a very tentative small legit...
I have been enjoying Shit or Legit, it's interesting to see whether these accessible prices will get you something decent enough to wear.
Cute designs but they all look so cheap:(
Yeah like I said, nice idea poorly executed.
What do you expect for slave labour
I've only ever shopped romwe from SHEIN so was quite excited to see this
I’m not a goth, but girl, you look great in those clothes! Hate to say it but 🏆
i have a dozen of romwe gothic items and never had issues! happy with it personally. i loved this caplet! i need to track it down!
Use those dresses you aren't fond of as house dresses also known as nightgowns
Poor quality fabrics are the BANE of my existence (well, that, and unnecessarily noisy things). With my height, ive pretty much decided i have to hunt really hard for my favored black skinny jeans (i wear tall. 35 or 36 inch inseam), and if i want waistcoats and tailcoats, i will need to sew them myself. Now to decide which fabric to purchase…i cant abide synthetic fibers
I also have to buy long sleeves in tall.
These companies' prices are so cheap because they take all your private info off your phone etc.
Before i watched this video i already ordered some of this stuff from shein and I'm glad you made a video about this now i know what to watch out for when ordering next time
Happier New Year beautiful mum..
I enjoyed yr haul 🖤🤘🖤
I bought many stuff from ROMWE, I like this brand. Not the best for quality, but "acceptable" 😉
I love your reviews. you are always really cool F. !!! I trust your judgment and I always follow your advice 🖤
I love the red and black dress! Adorable on you. ❤
You verified what I thought. These fabric are the cheapest possible, all plastik, and the Cuts are less than thoughtful, it is not your body. Thank you for doing this!
Love this series and you look so good in the outfits. I never bought anything from romwe but now i might😅
Where did you get those sleeve only things to cover your arms for the sleeveless clothes? I also hate showing my arms, and I feel like owning something like that would be a life saver 🙏
It's called a bolero or shrug, most of mine are from second-hand shops, they're so useful!
@@itisblackfriday thank u for telling me their name! It'll be much easier to look for some now 🥰
I actually considered buying from them but as soon as you said there is a connection to Shein I was disappointed.
The only thing that makes me sad is the stolen designs. I do try to ensure I don’t buy the items that have been “stolen” and are not actual collabs.
I have that cape. Haven't worn it yet though
Wear with a short dress! :D
I love these features because i don't have a lot of money to spend on clothes.
I have so many of these items! Wore the red skull dress on Saturday ❤
Oh cool!
@@itisblackfriday Happy New Year 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I have a romwe dress in my closet right now with the tags still on that I haven't tried on yet.
Happy New Year beautiful!!! ❤️
I have shopped on the Romwe site. I gotten shirts, Long sleeve, Hoodies.
Where did you get your lgloves from . I love them
I love most of the items BUT my favourite is the spiderweb leggings i LOVE plus LOVE THE skirt
I like Romwe for some reason and I hate that I like it but their pieces have lasted me pretty long
You look amazing Freyja, keep up the good work. Merry xmas and happy new year, from Wellington :D
Ah!! I saw arms! Arms!
Aaahhh!
Ahh yea of course, Goth category. Right next to the Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory! 🤣 just where I would of thought to look.
If you rub a candle on the zipper it will zip smoothly. I usually use a normal stick candle. It’s not perfect, but it makes zip easier.
I don't blame you! I'm overweight Myself and I ABSOLUTELY HATE exposing ANY kind or amount of skin PERIOD at ANY given time! I don't mind being covered up in public, but on My balcony at home, I'll dress down. 🤔🥰🤗💖
I know you are insecure about your arms but I just want to say I think you have beautiful arms 🖤
Love this series! Those spiderweb leggings remind me of the fake black milk leggings back in the 2010s. The white fabric would start showing through after a few washes.
I LOVE this series.
The vest is the weirdest item.
What is the name of the velvet top? I just love it and will definitely order it! 🖤
