- For the first time in 2024, we visit a circuit I've already raced at in GX-UK.
Hooton Park was where I won the O-Plate last year, and after a strong performance at Round 2 in Lydd, I was confident of setting the pace.
But the reality would turn out to be very different...

GX-UK has shaped up to be something really special, I'm glad it's taking off and the field looks to be filled with rapid drivers.
It’s super good. It’s taken off so quickly and the atmosphere is great.
Now that is what is called good sportsmanship. Seems such a good fair championship with great characters 🤜🤛
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video :)
Great weekend, the accommodation looked better than the pay by the hour room you had at Lydd 😄. We are looking forward to Llandow. I do like Tom Stalkers kart, its always so well presented.
Absolutely! 😂😂
Wow, such Sportsmanship and respect. Keep it going.....
Thanks for watching ❤
Great video Brad, looking forward to racing together again next time 😊
Same! Thank you for watching ❤️
Brilliant video ! The longer videos are much better 🔥
Thanks for watching Angus 🏁
Great video, cant wait to get on the grid at llandow
Looking forward to it!
that's a bit ridiculous that you cant use hand signals to communicate, never heard of that rule in any series in karting, especially 4 stroke racing in the US it has never even been brought up as an issue, very interesting. I could understand both hands off the wheel but just a little flick to tell the driver behind you to work with you should be ok, wonder how that decision was made to ban that?
I tend to agree but I don’t make the rules
@@BradPhilpot Yeah best thing to do is just follow them, otherwise it looks like a fun series.
Nice one Brad, you are a credit to AK!!!
Velco hands 👐 to steering wheel
Exactly
Brilliant video!!
Thanks Tom!
Thanks for watching and following our season in GX-UK. If you’d like any more information about the championship, please post a comment!
Great video as usual Brad! Jacob is a quick kid for sure.
Thanks for watching. Yes he’s a massive threat for the rest of the season!
Two questions:
How fast do gx-uk karts go?
How much is a season assuming you need to buy a chassis and engine for it?
Great questions:
If you mean top speed, that’s a tricky one to answer. It depends on the length of the straight but to give you some perspective, they’re generally a couple of seconds per lap faster than a Club100 kart on the same track.
Costs: £250 roughly championship entry fee which includes your tyres - and then £120 per weekend (practice and race day total cost).

Chassis and engine together for something really competitive is around £1500.
@@BradPhilpotwhere would be the best place to buy the chassis and engine from and I assume maintenance is relatively minimal on a 4stroke?
@@rL0CKIE Any pre 2018 senior chassis and depending on your weight a restricted or unrestricted gx200. Tonykarts are popular as the spares are available everywhere and the engines fit really well. My juniors run one Wright Suzuka3 and a OTK Alonso in this series.
Hey mate! remove the spacers from the inside of your wheels! It is better for turning in on the dry setup.
Which spacers?
Great video starting to edit my vid so probs out on the weekend
Can’t wait to see it Kye! Congrats on another cadet win!
@@BradPhilpot thanks
wtf is this no hand signals 💩 yes i get it if sticking 2 fingers up at a driver after a crash but no hand signals at all wtf
when you jumping on the 100uk grid ;)
I’m not planning on it. I did enough TKM / Rotax etc when I was much younger and my body could cope with it better.
I also wouldn’t want to enter something like 100UK without having really good kit and there’s no prospect of that any time soon!
@@BradPhilpot be good to see you on the grid one day tho even if its a one of race
Neowm
Exactly
Good video that
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!
