  • I worked for nine years in consulting working at places like McKinsey, BCG, and other small firms. For the last 5+ years, I've been a freelancer working for many clients.

This is great! Thank you. Given that you worked for BCG/Bain, I'm assuming that this was a major door opener. Any advice for someone that hasn't worked in strategy consulting but wants to establish a freelance consulting practice in terms of finding work?

yes going to be doing more videos!
will do one on finding clients but some of the things in the middle (telling friends, send an email, LinkedIn) still apply

As someone who transitioned from freelancing to working in a small team, I can relate to the challenges and the necessity to be Jack of all trades. Your point about the abundance of resources in a large consulting firm is interesting. With the advent of various AI tools, it suddenly feels as though I have a team ten times larger at my command, with tenfold the talent and resources. It's as if I now have access to data scientists, strategists, designers, and every kind of expert unferbthe sun that would have been unaffordable just a few years ago.
