No problemo Alex! Given that you're 1 year in, it's definitely a good time to start thinking about exit opportunities! Which one(s) are you finding the most compelling based on your interests?
@@neelandrohit6490 1) working for a late state startup and 2)VC as investor (instead of Associate). You definitely hit the nails in the head with these exit options
@@juanbigo1 i’m already out of consulting and now working at an oil and gas company doing strategic planning & M&A. Still busy on weekdays but at least nobody calls on the weekends.
I would love a breakdown on which firms make these switches more likely. I doubt blackstone would hire a consultant from a small boutique firm in private equity.
Still fairly common given the growth of the PE industry. IB has a significant edge simply because of how closely related a lot of work and workflows tend to be.
Does an experienced hire with a masters (non-mba) and relevant consulting experience earn the same as an MBA hire? Or will he/she still be compensated as the undergrad hire?
Good question Nathan! From the little I know (and the little research I've done), it seems like the salary range might be anywhere from $130K - $200K (if not slightly more). So it'd definitely toward the top of the list!
Hi, what oportunity within thise jobs you see for a lawyer (2yers expirience) with MBA, who was founder and general manager in small consultancy start up for 2 years as well as worked in big corporation as credit controller for 2 years? What position in your opinion l could apply for?
Good question, with a long answer. And one that I will answer in one of my upcoming videos! But in short, I realized I would be happier and honestly more effective working at a smaller company with more ownership, trying to solve a problem I care deeply about.

Not going into consulting, but the way you explained the most common types of areas to work in is SO Helpful! Thank you!
Love the high quality content as always! Hope Neel your quarantine is coming to an end too :)
Appreciate the kind comment Willow! And the quarantine has ended (thank goodness haha). Although it wasn't too bad!
Thanks for this video! I have been in management consulting for a year and recently started to think about exit opportunities.

Commercial Real Estate should’ve made an appearance, depending on the role you could have the best lifestyle on this list and make a shit ton
Very true that Commercial Real Estate can be quite lucrative. I just haven't seen it too commonly as an exit for consultants
Q: What do you think about going from the TOP Consultancy firms to smaller MC ones? (Starting way higher on the ladders etc?)
Would be very interesting to make a video for 2025. The consulting world is very different
What roles would a former consultant go into at a corporate company?
project management lol
Corporate strategy, run like an in-house consulting group
1 year in consulting and im already watching this vid hahahah
Haha after watching it, are you considering switching jobs?
@@neelandrohit6490 Planning to go into renewable energy late start up. But i'm just exploring opportunities at this point.

how common is it tho for PE firms to hire consultants (even from the big 3), especially when competing with IB'ers

but what are the roles? useful to know the sectors but what specific roles can we apply for

If you have under 2-3 YOE then you’re paid as an undergrad level hire.
What do you think of Investment Banking as an exit opportunity?
$40K per year is not lucrative, LMAO.
Not everything is about money
When did he say it was?
Extremely lucrative in my country lol
Where would tech (PM or similar role) fall if included in this list?
