Like “what you are capable of x your conviction” or maybe more specifically “you physical strength x your Metaphysical strength” and what you can achieve with Nen is the result. Conditions and personal costs harden your resolve, drastically increasing your metaphysical power, and Chinera ants who are dramatically physically capable and are born with strong conviction for serving the colony/ the king have a leg up. Then there’s Mereum, whose nen ability was to absorb the Nen/capability of anything he consumed, and who was physically stronger then anyone in the history of ever. Even if he lacked conviction per say at first, he was strong willed as well.
Lalrivunga Hnamte Hisoka would more be a psychopath, I think, and Killua neither, he’s just good old fashioned mentally traumatized and conditioned. Chrollo, if anything, is the one who most closely resembles a textbook sociopath, and even then he seems to lean closer to a form of autism then actual sociopathy. I would even go so far as to say that Chrollos power is born from lack of a sense of individual identity, which means he lacks a traditional Nen power of his own, and thus he developed one to steal Nen powers from others, just like he seems to use other people to identify himself. I get what you mean though.
Talk about nen curse. Should u talk about 2nd prince Carmila's body guard ? Since all of them use Curse Nen-type. And how all of them could have the exactly same nen type?
I can think of 3 different outcomes for the exorcized chain jail 1 he died from no more nen to give the beast 2 he died when cholo broke the rules and chain jail activated causing the nen beast to kill him 3 the nen beast created from chain jail dissipated once it activated after piercing the nen beasts "heart" and it died thus fulfilling the requirements I weigh on 1 or 2 due the fact he still wanted to release bomber rather than let it activate though it doesnt discount 3 due to the fact it could just explode when activated. As for curses in general you could argue any nen ability with a restriction could be considered minor ones IE kites is a roulette and he must stick with what ever is given him this could be seen as a link between restrictions and curses and that they are one in the same just that the severity, permanency and target as the key dividing factors.

This just made me realize something. The sun and moon hatsu that Lucifer has he explictly states that it's one ability who's original owner died but didn't dissappear out of his book. Also, once the brand has been set it doesn't dissappear a well which formed the crux of countering the weakness from Gallery Fake which would allow the fake zombies made using Order stamp to persist long after the hour time limit when they would dissolve back into nothing. So either; A. Chrollo understood the nature of ability and branded himself to help make sure the ability persists in his book after the original suer died or B. it's a happy accident for him that the original user of the ability probably felt such a way that his ability will naturally linger long after his death possibly some manner of spite or hatefulness to humanity that only his hatsu could fulfill.
Im pretty sure the nen exorcists beast went away cause kurapikas condition of using nen and contacting members was broken so the Judgement Chain disappeared as did the nen beast

The thing with Nen Exorcists is that you can infer the reason they exist is because someone at some point became saddle with a Nen Curse and they really wanted to get rid of it. That's the only reason I can think of Nen Exorcists existing in the first place.
It can be remove through exorcism its the counter of nen curse which allow the nen user to remove nen curses from other people like in Greed island when the guy removed Genthru's bomb but exorcism has a price to the user , though nen exorcists are very rare among nen users because most of nen users develop abilities that are useful to them not to others.

@@chrisj403 oh that is true. it would sort of make more sense for an exorcist to make their own dispel conditions "as long as it is equal to the condition of the original curse". so, Abengane should be able to actually fight his nen monsters and defeat them, or have other nen users fight and defeat the monsters, and so dispell the curse - its just that defeating the monster should be as 'difficult' (powerful) as "catching Bomber and saying "I caught the bomber", before 6k heartbeats" just for example. edit: maybe abengane has to touch his thumbs together with 2 other nen users to rewrite the dispel conditions. lol
maybe there is an exorcist that can change the dispel conditions, but not the consequences for failure to meet those conditions. so instead of 'you blow up if you dont catch me [in time]' becoming 'you get a nen monster if you dont catch me [no time limit]' it becomes 'you blow up if you do not defeat the nen beast [with or without time limit]'.
As to the exorcist dealing with kurapika's conditions: he doesn't feel the actual effects of the curse, he just has his aura stolen by the beast. You could consider that kurapika's chain is banished once the target has broken it's conditions, with a delay to kill the target. As soon as the exorcist told chrollo that the exorcism was done, he broke the rule on talking to members of the phantom troupe, therefore triggering kurapika's curse, which had no effect, and then disappeared as its requirements had been fulfilled. This would mean of course that the exorcist probably felt almost no adverse affects from that particular exorcism, but that's just how the cookie crumbles I guess.
Can you explain a little more on what you mean by the delayed effect and it meeting the requirements? And also can you explain a little on how he would deal with a exorcism in the case of gon and the amount of power needed to exorcise it. Would he not feel the effects of that or would he die because the nen beast would take all of his aura? I like your explanation it feels like something straight out of hunter x hunter and like I almost got to read a new chapter lol
@@The053199 Well, Kurapika makes up some condition that must be followed by the target. If they do not follow that condition, then the chain will kill the target (the act of killing the target is the delay I mentioned). Once the target is dead, the chain will vanish as there is no point to keeping a curse on a corpse (I assume). In the case of the exorcist however, the chain is no longer physically present, only it's conditions, so it still receives the order to 'kill' the target, but it doesn't actually have any affect. Once it has received that order, after a little delay that would usually be taken up by killing the target, the chain disappears as usual as it thinks that it has completed its task. Alternatively it doesn't disappear until chrollo dies, or his heart is pierced. That might also be the case, but at that point only Togashi could know. But even if this did happen, once Kurapika learns that his curse has been exorcised, he might dispell his curse anyway (assuming he gets a return on aura for that.) As for exorcising Gon's curse, I think at the very least the exorcist would have most of their aura taken by the beast for the rest of their life, including their basic life energy, leaving them weak and frail. Considering that Gon was on life support, I expect the exorcist would also be put on life support, and probably have an early death if not be killed outright by the beast, Gon was particularly hardy and resiliant after all.
the final troupe member (Chrollo i'd assume) kills Kurapika or Kurapika himself uses his chains on someone not phantom troupe thus killing him. This death, evokes post mortem nen and the nen curse on chrollo lucifer reawakens and kills him thus completing his vengeance against the troupee.

Wish you talked about the Kakin servants who created curse hatsus that only take effect after they kill themselves as the ultimate restriction to invoke nen after death. That was the real curse hatsu imo
The Nen exorcist does necessarily have to be in peril. If the nen beast conjured by his exorcism just sucked Kurupika’s chain off of Chrollo’s heart, all Chrollo would have to do is activate his nen, the chain would try to kill him but not be around his heart, and then dispel, thus dispelling the nen beast as well.
I think I'm onto something with this idea, but don't know the fine details and finesse behind the restrictions. Could someone imbue a nen curse on themselves and that be a restriction in which empowers another ability? Like going super saiyan sorta, I'll explain. Kurapika must be in his scarlet eyes mode to enter emperor time; however, emperor time drastically lowers his lifespan. This powers him up allowing him to have more ability, but could he become even stronger by placing a nen curse on himself as a restriction to further empower himself?
Its already answered in the manga. If kurapika use judgement chain to himself while set the condition to use his power only to spiders, he would die immeditiately cause he already broke the rule by using his power (judgement chain) to himself (not a spider).
Yea but I mean thats only due to anomalies in their genetics like kurapikas scarlet eyes. Maybe other stuff like humans born with a tail could trigger a specialist response or having a sixth finger. Idk But yea there should be a 1% there regardless

I dont see why you cant use Enhancement for both Curses as well as Exorcism. We saw Hair-Growth multiple times in fact, so 'Negative Enhancement' like a 'Hair-Curse' should totally be possible. And punching someone or something so long to then make a Curse dissapear should also be possible. Like: You have to punch a Tree 1000 times in 10 hours, but if you manage to do it, youre next Punch then will destroy any Nen-Curse who's Victim you directly punch.
I like this video but I had an idea. what if a transmuter acquired the ability to give his aura the property to affect other people's aura, like for example a flame that consumes aura by using it as a fuel (which is definitely an ability I would have if I was a transmuter), or a substance that reacts to nen to affect your aura our your body, wouldn't that be a nen curse based on transmutation, therefore contradicting your analysis ??

Does Countdown use emission? I cant see why he would need too. Hes just conjuring an explosive where as Kurapika is emitting manipulator nen for his Judgement Chain.
Emission has been stated to be the separation of aura from the users body, usually for conjurers when they conjure something they do so directly to their hands/body(like shizuku's vacuum cleaner and kurapika's chains) if they want to conjure their object away from their body they first need to 'emit' their aura. Since the bomb of countdown remains on the victims even after they are away from genthru we can tell that it has been emitted onto them. Pretty confusing, I know.

No, that's not a Nen-Curse, but yes, that is a Restriction, so it will make youre Nen stronger. Just a little bit though if theres no Consequence. Nen-Restrictions; which 'Dont use youre right hand' is; are all about the Consequence. You dont even need to make a Nen-Curse yourselfe and also not pay another Nen-User to curse you: A Jigsaw-Trap would literally suffice. It's all about making it FACT that there WILL be Consequences. Doesnt need to Be Nen: You just need to be sure the Consequence will happen.

Yup. Keep an open mind while you read it. Dark Continent is an amazing story so far, but it’s so dense with dialogue that some might say it’s bad comics. It’s very different from what you’re used to but it’s a fucking ride.
Didn't Gon"s curse technically come about from enhancement? He more or less rapidly enhanced himself to a point he'd need to train decades to reach. I guess he could have used conjuration, but it seemed like just an extreme form of enhancement.

What do u mean incomplete saga? Well besides that if you want to start were the anime left off, start in chapter 340. If you haven't seen the 99 anime I reccomend reading atleast the 1st volume since it actually shows when gon meets kite as a little kid but if you want to see the gory deaths that were ommited in the anime then I recommend reading the manga from the beginning

maybe there is an exorcist that can change the dispel conditions, but not the consequences for failure to meet those conditions. so instead of 'you blow up if you dont catch me [in time]' becoming 'you get a nen monster if you dont catch me [no time limit]' it becomes 'you blow up if you do not defeat the nen beast [with or without time limit]'.

As to the exorcist dealing with kurapika's conditions: he doesn't feel the actual effects of the curse, he just has his aura stolen by the beast. You could consider that kurapika's chain is banished once the target has broken it's conditions, with a delay to kill the target. As soon as the exorcist told chrollo that the exorcism was done, he broke the rule on talking to members of the phantom troupe, therefore triggering kurapika's curse, which had no effect, and then disappeared as its requirements had been fulfilled. This would mean of course that the exorcist probably felt almost no adverse affects from that particular exorcism, but that's just how the cookie crumbles I guess.
Can you explain a little more on what you mean by the delayed effect and it meeting the requirements? And also can you explain a little on how he would deal with a exorcism in the case of gon and the amount of power needed to exorcise it. Would he not feel the effects of that or would he die because the nen beast would take all of his aura? I like your explanation it feels like something straight out of hunter x hunter and like I almost got to read a new chapter lol
@@The053199 Well, Kurapika makes up some condition that must be followed by the target. If they do not follow that condition, then the chain will kill the target (the act of killing the target is the delay I mentioned). Once the target is dead, the chain will vanish as there is no point to keeping a curse on a corpse (I assume). In the case of the exorcist however, the chain is no longer physically present, only it's conditions, so it still receives the order to 'kill' the target, but it doesn't actually have any affect. Once it has received that order, after a little delay that would usually be taken up by killing the target, the chain disappears as usual as it thinks that it has completed its task.
Alternatively it doesn't disappear until chrollo dies, or his heart is pierced. That might also be the case, but at that point only Togashi could know. But even if this did happen, once Kurapika learns that his curse has been exorcised, he might dispell his curse anyway (assuming he gets a return on aura for that.)
As for exorcising Gon's curse, I think at the very least the exorcist would have most of their aura taken by the beast for the rest of their life, including their basic life energy, leaving them weak and frail. Considering that Gon was on life support, I expect the exorcist would also be put on life support, and probably have an early death if not be killed outright by the beast, Gon was particularly hardy and resiliant after all.

the final troupe member (Chrollo i'd assume) kills Kurapika or Kurapika himself uses his chains on someone not phantom troupe thus killing him.
This death, evokes post mortem nen and the nen curse on chrollo lucifer reawakens and kills him thus completing his vengeance against the troupee.
8:45 so, I'd say that the moment Chrollo spoke to another member of the troupe was also the moment the nen beast dissipated, it makes sense to me

The Nen exorcist does necessarily have to be in peril. If the nen beast conjured by his exorcism just sucked Kurupika’s chain off of Chrollo’s heart, all Chrollo would have to do is activate his nen, the chain would try to kill him but not be around his heart, and then dispel, thus dispelling the nen beast as well.

I think I'm onto something with this idea, but don't know the fine details and finesse behind the restrictions. Could someone imbue a nen curse on themselves and that be a restriction in which empowers another ability? Like going super saiyan sorta, I'll explain.
Kurapika must be in his scarlet eyes mode to enter emperor time; however, emperor time drastically lowers his lifespan. This powers him up allowing him to have more ability, but could he become even stronger by placing a nen curse on himself as a restriction to further empower himself?
Its already answered in the manga. If kurapika use judgement chain to himself while set the condition to use his power only to spiders, he would die immeditiately cause he already broke the rule by using his power (judgement chain) to himself (not a spider).

Does Countdown use emission? I cant see why he would need too. Hes just conjuring an explosive where as Kurapika is emitting manipulator nen for his Judgement Chain.
Emission has been stated to be the separation of aura from the users body, usually for conjurers when they conjure something they do so directly to their hands/body(like shizuku's vacuum cleaner and kurapika's chains) if they want to conjure their object away from their body they first need to 'emit' their aura. Since the bomb of countdown remains on the victims even after they are away from genthru we can tell that it has been emitted onto them. Pretty confusing, I know.
Question: Why does Judgement Chain require emission if the chain is made from Nen? I get why Genthru’s does, but why Kurapika’s.

but yes, that is a Restriction, so it will make youre Nen stronger.
Just a little bit though if theres no Consequence. Nen-Restrictions; which 'Dont use youre right hand' is;
are all about the Consequence.
You dont even need to make a Nen-Curse yourselfe and also not pay another Nen-User to
curse you: A Jigsaw-Trap would literally suffice. It's all about making it FACT that there WILL
be Consequences.

Didn't Gon"s curse technically come about from enhancement? He more or less rapidly enhanced himself to a point he'd need to train decades to reach. I guess he could have used conjuration, but it seemed like just an extreme form of enhancement.

What do u mean incomplete saga? Well besides that if you want to start were the anime left off, start in chapter 340. If you haven't seen the 99 anime I reccomend reading atleast the 1st volume since it actually shows when gon meets kite as a little kid but if you want to see the gory deaths that were ommited in the anime then I recommend reading the manga from the beginning
