The worker is that one poor guy that has to do everything
The rebel is that positive guy who really thinks he can make a dent for his cause.
The toxin tractor is that really crazy guy who is obsessed with toxins and somesuch.
the quad cannon is the mean guy that gets upset really fast

For sure. They completely caught the feeling of the game, and theme of each faction. Each track of each faction is a masterpiece, Zero Hour as well.
I've always considered it pretty weak in C&C terms. I was always disappointed by this ost.

When I was smaller I always thought the Theme 09 (26:00) is USA's soundtrack, and now I get why: it uses instruments similar to those in the USA soundtrack. The rest of GLA music doesn't use those instruments, and I think the 09 theme is inspired by the mission where you playing as GLA steal USA's equipment. That makes so much more sense for me now lol

yeah, but the thing is, that you have to crank up your speakers to 11 if you want to get the chance to hear the Theme in the background when the couple is entering the pyramids, othervise you can easyli overhear that its there. ;)
Back when games had beautiful music :( and developers actually cared for something other than money.
Keep in mind it's not often individual developers that are money-hungry. It's the fact games take a lot of money to make, thus typically a developer has to basically work for and through some business-people who may or may not actually care about the games. Thus they are choked by, say, higher-ups in EA and such.
But then you could even counter that said higher-ups have tried doing games for the art in the past, but when they give too much leeway developers could try to make a too "perfect" game leading to significant delays and a lack of profit which then brings us to the crushing realization that no matter how beautiful an art piece is, customers who rave about it are still too cheap to barely pay $10, no matter if they spend 1,000 hours with it, without showing any further support. Basically, the consumers have cut-off the legs of truly great games because of our belief that games should rarely be outright pricey (nevermind DLC/lootboxes/etc.)
They still do, just dont buy crap (: if you buy 60€ garbage games dont complain.
You have awesome games and companies like Killing Floor 2 (Tripwire Interactive) that is only medium price and gets FREE content patches every few months for years after release, jup.
Vermintide 2 (Fatshark) medium price, nice content. Not as much content as in Killing Floor 2 but a nice DLC policy that is somewhat the same and good content for the price.
About RTS though, that genre is pretty dead. However, WC3 reforged will ruined all my hopes

Generals really nail the 3 toughest military forces in the world. Technology prowess of the USA, the patriotism and sheer number of China and the hidden and unpredictable swift and ruthless tactics from the Middle east. They fucking nail the gameplay as such too. For GLA, you never fight opponants head on, always about attacking backlines etc. This game is pure genius and still one of the best RTS of all time after 20 years. Perhaps hamas did it all only because it's 20th anniversary of this game!

No way we could have a game like this anymore. Absolutely everyone would be up in arms about a pseudo-religious group of terrorist from middle east commiting crimes in China and having military intervention from the USA in a foreign country; no matter how similar the premise is to current events. Really that put a lot of feel into the game, now we get games completely separated from reality and bordering on alienation of their own core audience.

I miss cc generals... first time i heard of this game was in 2008 i had only 8 years old and i been to a restaurant near the cemetary cause my grandma died that year and i was with my mom and other people after the mourning of my grandma. there i saw the kid of the chief playing cc generals. (yes he had his computer in the restaurant it was his family restaurant) i was looking at him playing the game and i liked it i even forget to touch the food that day to eat cause i fking loved that game i was shy and i didn't talked to him i only viewed him how he play... good times and sad at the same time i miss my grandma too.

Generals Zero Hour needs to be remastered. It is truly one of the best games of the C&C series that stingy EA does not care about because of its financial goals (or stupid political reasons). Even the original game is not currently available on Steam. We waited for EA Games to do something for years.

Generals Evolution mod released for RA3 on moddb. It is unofficial but it is biggest and most fun "remake" project ever about Generals Zero Hour. Someone did a thing finally what poor EA didn't. EA should think about it. The project is very valuable.
