A few things I noted: first, the item candles aren't colored differently on the higher difficulties (unless my version just glitched), which means to never stand directly below a candle when whipping, unless you like misery. Secondly, this soundtrack compilation is godly, and finally -- holy balls, I suck at this game.
I played through Simon's Destiny before watching this Doom Mod Madness, and I'm glad I did. I didn't want to spoil the surprises that awaited me. Kinda surprised you didn't talk about the platforming aspect of Simon's Destiny, considering the tendency of platforming in Doom mods to suck and how well it works here. The attention to detail in the environment is great; being able to see Dracula's personal tower in the distance of outside levels and the entrances to the next level being in sight during the boss fights makes Drac's Castle feel tangibly connected. The imp scratch animation for zombies, Revenant attack on the skeletons, and Wolfenstein zombie animation on Frankenstein's Monster are also nice homage to the engine it runs on (I think the Knights' melee attacks are also inspired by Hexen enemies but am not for sure). Big fan of the AVGN easter egg too ;). If I had any problems, I'd say that the game was too dark on default settings in some levels, especially the second but that's easily remedied by adjusting the settings. The room right before the boss fight with Death, the infamous Medusa Heads + Knight combo, is still a nightmare in three dimensions and I was not dealing with that shit on a tic of health. I actually didn't have an issue with any of the bosses themselves; they were hard but definitely not unbeatable. It's an overall great package for anyone even a little interested, I know I loved it.

Also the main Castlevania guy Koji Igarashi is making a kickstarter game called Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and I recommend everybody check it out
Will they make a mod of Seal of the Curse (Simon's Quest) using the Marathon engine? That would kick ass. Better yet, they could use Aleph One for a 3D Dracula X: Rondo of Blood. The plank system of that engine could allow for the alternate exits. Then the Akumajou Dracula 2 mod could be on the Quake engine.
My one problem with it is how goddamned strong and dangerous bats are. In Castlevania and most every other game Bats are not highly dangerous and deadly enemies. They hit you for 1 damage and then poof.

It was well made with all the classic elements and everything. This game evoked nostalgic emotions out of me that alot of new games just cant do.
it is a doom mod. its build on the doom engine. which makes it a doom mod. lol. no matter if it is stand alone. with that logich Total Chaos is not a doom 2 mod as well. also i dont have the stand alone version because i use version 1.4 the newest. and that one is not a standalone. you still need Gzdoom to run it.

The second Lords of Shadow game didn't do too swell. You also have to remember this is Konami, the company that wanted to focus on pachinko machines and is still trying to make Metal Gear Survive a thing. We'll probably see a Castlevania title, eventually, though, given they made a new Bomberman for Switch out of nowhere, and pachinko isn't going to be staying nearly as profitable.
The main guy behind Castlevania: Koji Igarashi got fired/left Konami years ago when they began their insane decision making spree, the last thing they made was an *EROTIC VIOLENCE* Castlevania pachinko machine. Igarashi made a kickstarter with some help for a spiritual successor called Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, it's not finished yet I think but it did pass the kickstarter donation goal by miles and is going to have a bunch of cool features, I think a demo is available too
I absolutely loved this mod, aside from stage 5. the hallway before Death is kinda ridiculous because you have medusa heads coming from ahead and behind (making tracking them very difficult) WHILE fighting Axe Armors. One direction is all the medusa heads needed there if you ask me. Especially considering Death is ahead of all this.
I keep getting an error, that it must be less than 5 characters or some shit. Is there a file missing or something? Because I've had to do that before with some of the mods you've posted, and hunt down the missing files.
