I don’t think the creator intended that because in the actual Doom games, torches always emit light and removing them would obviously remove the light.

This is so good. So many props to the creator. I’m amazed at how recognizable the levels still are. Everything seems to translate, at least on some level, really well. Soundtrack and sound effects fit perfectly. This looks more fun than several of the. 3D attempts that actually got out.

Castlevania is unfortunately a thing of the past. However koji igarashi quit his job at konami and went to create "bloodstained" which is like a spiritual successor to castlevania. Have a look at it if you haven't already.

I love how it uses the Dracula Battle Selection music. Also, the nostalgia of the original Dracula battle with the gameplay style of Castlevania 64. I love how it plays Theme of Simon for the final battle.
Assuming the Architect ever gets paid, HA HA HA!! Ya, know his workers tend to do bad work, IMHO cause some castlevania games have bridges and platforms that fall at will, i.e. step on them to fall bigtime.... Scary, to have such things, in a castle that is supposed to last forever.
When I was a kid, I played too much Castlevania on the NES one day and ended up dreaming about it from a 3D perspective. This mod is the closest representation of that dream more than anything I've seen to date. Awesome job!

I came from Matt McMuscles (Channel who does the Wha Happun show) and this is absolutely fantastic. This is on perfect balance of gameplay, atmosphere, design, creativity, nostalgia and challenge. It's a fantastic design if anyone video game and as a Castlevania fan myself, I loved every second of it. Massive kudos to Andrea Gori, she did a great job creating this atmospheric wonder of a video game. Well done.
this was a trip from beginning to end. the sheer creativity and design planning that went into this is amazing. kudos to the creator for an amazing production! i especially enjoy the use of wolfenstein, doom, hexen, and many many other genre assets that were used in this. absolutely astounding :D

Damn, even the levels were recreated in a very similar manner rather than just randomly putting rooms. That hallway before Death though, still the biggest dick in the game.
If Castlevania were still an active series today, I would want to see a survival horror take on it where you play as an ordinary person as opposed to a Belmont or Alucard or whatever.
So just Silent Hill is what you're thinking. Because Castlevania feels a bit too action fantasy to be turned into this down to earth realistic survival horror.

Played it years ago, amazing mod! Proof that 3D Castlevania works perfectly. Has the mood of the classic games, kinda plays like them, places are recognizable. Great soundtrack.
It's amazing what one or more people can do, when they have free-reign with an IP, plenty of time to make it, and a lot of experience, talent, and creativity to turn one thing into something different to varying extents~
Play Metroid Dreadnaught. It’s an amazing Metroid mod for Doom 2. It allows you to find hidden rooms and get all of Samus’ Super Metroid upgrades. It doesn’t beat Simon’s Destiny, but it’s up there for me

Lack of the knockback on hit really kind of kills the Castlevania feel. That mechanic defines Castlevania. As much as people don't like it, it's literally what Castlevania is all about. Otherwise you get 9:24, and the Medusa-Heads lose all real threat. Really cool they kept the unique death animation for every monster type though, not even Konami has stayed that faithful.
These topnotch Doom mods would have sold like hotcakes in the 90's.

Castlevania: Dwarf Edition. When the character opens a door his eyes are lower than the door knob so this must a hell of a short Belmont
