@@Zippofanatic77outdoors Y can't i find this on amazon??8'-
I watched almost halfway through. Then you said you can’t get them anymore. That’s a real shame
Lol I know right
Thanks for saving me the time
@@losfromla1480 no problem mate 👍
Can i use cooking oil as fuels for my Zippo lighters?? I usually use Alcohol for disinfectant or just Gasoline.
Heck yeah wicked job cheers
Thanks tipsy !
I still have mine but haven’t used in a while. I don’t like that I have to use a screwdriver every time I fill up. I use my lighter everyday I usually fill up when I’m waiting out the door so it’s faster to use regular insert.
Yeah I Didnt like using it edc either. I don’t like any of the sealed inserts to be honest. Original is king. Why mess with perfection

No problem buds thanks for commenting
I managed to put the cotton and whick in the zippo the way you do, works good now 👍
Nice ! Yeah repacking it is step 1
With all this hacks you have to do it seems to me that Zippo needs a major redesign with their lighters because ain't no way I should have to do all these to prevent evaporation. I'm sticking to my ST Dupont Le Grand which works brilliantly and no worrying of butane evaporating.
DuPont are cool 😎
So cool you did another video with it! I'll probably use it again. I always wondered when it comes to the amount it carries vs. how quick it evaporates makes it better than the sandwich bag trick you came up with. It carries a lot more fuel than the cotton bacon, but does it "hold" it long enough to be worth it.
Example would be say it holds 5ml of fluid and evaporates in 5 weeks, so 1ml per week of evaporation. The cotton bacon holds 3ml of fluid and lasts 2 weeks, so that's 1.5ml per week of evaporation.
I know that's just getting nuts and nitpicky but I always wondered if being able to carry more fuel is worth it.
I actually use this for standby in my pocket and it lasts quite a while, I should have kept count. Another BIG PRO for me on this is, I can SHAKE the Zippo to hear the fuel slosh around and know if there's fuel left in it. I got used to how it sounds when it's nearing empty so I fill it again then.
@@SeiPokGuy haha I wouldn’t say nit picky but when u have something like this it’s hard not to think about it down the ml per day haha. Yeah I def enjoy this thing and appreciate u letting me show it off and use it. Just one of those gems u don’t see. And really should be back in circulation. Lol yeah u get to the sounds of fluid levels. As distinct as the zippo ping. A scale would make measurements much more accurate. Measure the fuel u out and so forth.
From what I heard there is also another cap to seal everything inside if you take it out of the insert, but they do not sell these at a decent price so IDK since I never had one. I'd try it if they were in production, but replacing parts like the felt cap wouldn't be easy right now.
Yeah u gotta do u buds
Nice but there's an easier less complacated (and cheaper) way to do that. They sell rubber gaskets that fit into the end of the insert. It has a door to fill the fuel and a place for the storage of one flint under the door.😊
Now they make metal versions of those. The fuel makes the rubber shrink after some time so i wonder if the metal ones will help. Plan on ordering one soon. We'll see lol
Cool little piece, surprised nobody has tried to update or rebrand and put these back out on the market
I know right. I want to make one but I’m having issues finding something I can use as a tank. Don’t u work in metal fabrication ? Haha
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors i do but i don't think the 10,000 gallon tanks we make would work for a zippo lol
@@57HEMIviken lmao that’s rich. Imagine though lol
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors you'd need a semi to haul your zippo but you'd NEVER run out of fuel lol
@@57HEMIviken call it the life long zippo lol
Cool video 😊
Hey quick question. On your old channel you had a fuel efficiency video where you were going to build the ultimate zippo. I was thinking of buying the Zorro to take the metal bottom to put into my zippo so it looks a bit nicer than the ziplock trick, did you ever confirm if it fits or works?
No I Didnt end up making it. Just a lot a work for something not that special. The way I pack with sandwich bag last me what I need
Do you still have the Zorro's fuel efficient insert (one with wick cap)? would you mind making a video on how to replace its wick? I got one and it seems they use different wick other than the usual Zippo wired wick.
I just forced it in.
I’ll run some more tests in a couple months in the winter and see how it lasts in colder conditions. I’ll also try and do an update video.
Yeah bro ill be watching for that video !
Thanks for the video it was 69 dollars and 20 for shipping on eBay.
No problem Larry ! Thanks for the response
I use naptha gas in my zippo, it's dirt cheap so fuel efficiency isn't an issue.
I am looking into buying my first 1935 replica. Is the chrome brushed the only variant with this one?
I’m not sure buds. But if u check zippo.com u will see what they have in the 35 section. All I have is brushed chrome ones so
think this old skool design , fluid is always evaporating from wick on top since it always wicking fluid from bottom , everytime you open the lid, you can already smell it , my advice is always carry a spare bic lighter or fluid container
I don’t carry this. Zippo with regular fluid is all I need. Bics can take a hike
How many insert are you often use???
Finally🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Lol
@@Zippofanatic77outdoors 😅 I thought you had made an ultimate Ultimate, best of the best one 😅😅🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
@@swedenharmonica2076 this is it. Not gonna make anything better than this
🍺🍺❤️
Doesn't a regular zippo also last 3 weeks if left alone?
Depends how close U live to the equator.
Just a revise of the old Tank lighter of yester year
Im lucky idk the guy i bought mine from had it set up like yours minus the bag
Oh nice u picked one up.
If you don’t use it everyday and refill every so often the fluid will evaporate. I wouldn’t recommend for the occasional table lighter use. I used it for a few days in a vintage look to test for leaks stood it up on my nightstand tried using the other day and was empty probably about a 2 week period.
In the video I mention if u stand it up. U gotta shake it cause everything drys
The tank was completely empty
@@larryparson4192 I subbed
where can I get this?
Lol dirty mike what’s up fellow Canadian. U can’t get this try havent made it along time. More of a collectable
Or you could just buy a vintage Evans TrigALight. Those are a sealed tank design.
Yeah this zippo oriented
I’ll make a company that create that insert, will you be my costumer?
U know it
For the price of that tank, id go buy a Exotac titan lighter
I don't know, the design seems a little more trouble than its worth. I prefer a simple Amazon lighter gasket, they're very inexpensive and simple to install and I've had great results with them, plus they make the insert fit that much more snugly.
Thanks for sharing!

Yeah buddy. A relic from the 90’s they don’t make them
