I've finished school as civil engineer, worked as civil engineer, and when I was your age I've decided to throw that all away and do something else, because I was fucking miserable. I didn't know what, and how, but I knew I can't continue my sad civil engineer "career".
4 years later, I'm an animator making games. I like my life now. My mental health is miles better. My pay is better. I have shit load of new friends. My worst days animating are better than some of my good civil engineer days.
Hell, my MIL started her career when she was 40! And 20+ years later she has company worth millions.
      You can do this!

Really appreciated the "Did you struggle out of college"-talk. I graduated into COVID, one and a half years ago, and I am still very lost. I had a job in my field, but not in an area I want to work, for eight months this year, but it was not healthy for me. I quit and kept telling people I want to pursue a PhD, and I still might, but I haven't been able to update people in so long that they kind of don't believe me anymore. Luckily, I can live with my parents at the moment, but that comes with its own set of issues. I guess I just wanted to say that I totally agree with what you said about graduating from the top university in your subject yet not immediately finding a dream job or one that could get you there and also with time just not being as fast paced anymore out of school. There aren't set milestones in this semester or the next and a finish line at the end anymore.

It was kinda wild for a while there, ppl were just abreviating full sentences and then having to type the sentences out anyway because no one could understand. Morning shows were trying to figure it out and giving wildly incorrect guesses, which led to parents using incorrect slang online to the point some meanings actually changed because so many ppl were using them. Then finally, most of them became cringe and disappeared from use. Rip.

So great to see Eugene again! I know he doesn't love doing the podcast, and I'm glad he's no longer pressured to do it. That said, I've missed him and look forward to seeing the projects he's been working on. Glad the guys now have more creative freedom over their content and that they can choose what they want to take part in -- Kwesi and their staff and guests have been wonderful additions, offering new perspectives and renewed energy.
Also, Rainie is such a natural interviewer. I learned so much about the guys that I didn't know before.

Also Rainie is in top form in this episode, I’m someone that’s bad at asking follow up questions (or more accurately, I can’t think of anything to ask) so conversation dies with me sometimes 😅 I admire how she lets her curiosity steer the convo in different directions and breathe fresh air into the usual pod format

Halfway through and you are speaking my language. mIRC at the age of 14, late 90s chatting online to strangers, meet ups with a whole chat community which just ended up as a huge group of goths spooking the city centre. It was the millennial gen that built the internet. Our interest, investment of time and usage governed what was made and what was left to internet dust. I remember building my own avatar for a South Park chat in 98, where we walked the streets of cartoon Colorado, designed by us as cartoons in baggy tie-dyed jeans, but I was all the way in Australia. It was unfathomable freedom at the time. Thank you guys for bringing it all up, what a joy to recall!

enemies to lovers is sketch irl but Elizabeth and Darcy were never, like, *actively* enemies so I don't think that applies so much
and most importantly, they both demonstrated willingness to change & grow
...anyway so I'm definitely in that 100% of readers lmao

I hate that I know so much about Pride and Prejudice but I’ve read it to death, as well as watched the 1995 BBC miniseries about 15 times. Elizabeth and Mr Darcy do stay together. At the end of the book Austin wrote what she imagines what happened next. Elizabeth and Mr Darcy have several children and are ridiculously happy, Kitty (second youngest) matures without Lydia (youngest who elopes) and gets married, then Mary (middle child) stays at home to look after her parents and is finally happy with herself as she is no longer compared to the rest of her sisters.
Loved the episode guys. You were so dynamic. I laughed so much.❤

Happy Thanksgiving all! So glad they mentioned trying to bring Indigenous foods and knowledge into your Thanksgiving celebration. Something our family have been trying to do for a few years now. Our local Indigenous tribes (Ohlone) ate a lot of seafood, so we do fish instead of turkey as our main dish.
