You take a 3/4” drill bit and make a few holes at the very bottom of the air box as well. Bring in more air and it’s only hot air in when you’re sitting in traffic on a hot day, other than that it’s great.
AND ITS FREE if you have or know someone with a drill and bit. Be careful doing it with the box in place because sometimes these wires under there so best to take it out. Make sure all the holes drilled are on the correct side of the air filter. Do this and remove any (air silencers) from the air box and it will make a difference. It even changes the exhaust note with the engine breathing in better. Warning! It may void warranties, I’ve never done it on vehicles that had warranties at that time. Beware first but this is free HORSEPOWER‼️
You want to keep the air coming in as smooth (laminar flow) as possible. The cup mod accomplishes exactly this. Adding multiple hand-drilled holes in the air box along WITH the cup mod would create unwanted turbulence. I would do one OR the other. Not both. I would also recommend one large hole over several small holes. You could simply cut out an entire side (or the bottom) of an air box (leaving enough of an edge around the perimeter to maintain structural integrity) for maximum air flow. You just have to be aware of where that air will be coming in from. You don't want it to be hot engine compartment air. And you also don't want it to be splashed up water/mud from the road (in the case of cutting the bottom out).
Can't believe he put that Taxi movie body kit on it. Especially in taxi yellow. I think it's too much though I've not seen it on any Vic in all black yet. Maybe it wouldn't look quite as over the top in black but I doubt it.
That's not that much of a change. I can't imagine the ECU not being able to compensate for the additional air. It should just pulse the injectors longer. If in doubt, install new spark plugs and then 'read' them after a few miles of driving (make sure the vehicle is fully warmed up / at operating temp). Or install a wideband O2 sensor so you can view your AFR in real-time.
Same issue on my 95 4.6L T-Bird, the inlet for the air box was 2 piece, I took the inner restrictor part out and with K&N it was like goin from a v6 to V8, woke it up!
back in the day designers were like if it gets cracked they can use a simple cup. Easy peasy. Now, let's make the some weird oval and force them to buy a special adapter that connects to another adapter and we can make 100 or 200 seem like a real bargain 😂
I'm trying to convince my son to buy a crown 👑 Victoria. I had a p71 😢 till a lady crashed into me. I'm liking the taxi 🚖 ride, Sounds good. I'm a 🍒 Bomb the exhaust system 😀.
That restrictors on every Ford shaped like a little trumpet restrictors right everybody take that s*** off your Ford and the car will shift better it definitely will
Take out the white restrictor plate of your double walled cup snorkel.
A1 as always... Good to see you back with another banger🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Never thought I’d be modding my crown vic at the dollar store but here we are!
Love that sound of the exhaust on a Crown Vic...

I JUST SEEN THIS ON MARKETPLACE?!
mandela effect?🤔
@@MrRandomReviewsI seen it yesterday too, still for sale $6500
I also saw the exact car!!
Yeah they want way too much for that, its a rebuilt title, the grey one without decals is sick, still wont get it for over 5k
The Mopar decal on the bumper is catching me off guard 🤣
I'll be doing that to my Town Car. I'm not expecting any real gains but I won't lose much.... other than a cup, lol
And the wife will most likely never find her missing cup
I'm waiting for the k&n cup to come out
😂

I apparently can't add a pic of my old vic but it was black with that body kit on it
Does this require a tune. I know swaping the airbox on a merc with a p71 requires a tune or you will run lean due to more air being introduced.
No, that swap only needs a tune because the MAF is a different diameter.

You need to retune when switching to the p71 air box because the maf sensor housing is 80mm, it's 70mm on the civilian model airboxes.
Shouldn't you silicone or jb weild it in place I wouldn't trust it to stay in place on nj roads 2 many potholes

Ever think about modifying the lower air box to accommodate two intake snorkels maybe one from a police model one from a civilian?
Early 2000 Super Dutys were the same. I took a hand saw took off the whole snorkel. Right at the bottom of the bell

why is there a Mopar sticker on it?
Great vid how about you bring back the before you videos. Ideas for them 88 to 98 obs chevy and gmc full trucks and G35 2 and four 4 doors.
Why is there a mopar sticker on the front bumper?
Wish your vlog camera was less shaky. Your camera mounted on the tripod great!
i need to get me a gimbal or something to help Stabilize the footage
zip tie trick is gold...shit works!
Yes it does. Had many people drive my car and be like “damn this car has a really touchy accelerator “
I opened up the entire front box and the length of the side of the box and that woke it up.
Nice content but why does your ford have a Mopar sticker on the front bumper ?
Doing this because I just realize my Vic has no snorkel at all :()
Get rid of the Mopar decals
I think it would be better looking to just use some HVAC ducting or something similar
So what happens if you cut that out? I did that to mine and it seems normal😊
Zip tie works on most fords of the era. I had to do it on my 94 ranger due to excessive slack
mmmmmerica!!!

If your kids and ex-wife have blond hair, the Chinese will pay a premium for them. No, I'm not kidding, and you didn't hear it from me.

TAXI Ford Crown Victoria Carro 🚕🚖
no k7n drop in?!
soon bro....soon
I have pictures of what a KN did to my Fox in 8,000 miles.
Oil and dirt all over the mass air screen and even in the induction tube.
5:30
Me gusta mucho 👍👍👍👍👍👍
9th!
Trash air filter.
Just rip off the snorkel. No need to replace it with anything. It's close enough to the front it won't matter
