I did this one yesterday. I almost couldn't find the tutorial today because mine looked so different! haha. I need to practice my mountains, do 100 mountain repetitions or something. They were so bad that I turned them into little domey hills with bizarre snow patterns. I decided that my landscape is on another planet and I need to make up geological explanations for my mountains' non-cragginess, ha-ha. Note to self, don't try to keep up with Lindsay when you're painting. Watch, then pause and paint SLOWLY. I really loved my sky though. Your technique was wonderful. I thought, oh man, this looks like a kid's coloring book, but when dry, it was outstanding!. You have amazing instincts, make things look so easy. Love to watch and learn.
I have been "studying" under you for a while now....am taking your watercolor landscape course. This was first time I felt ready to try a full landscape! I did it, am delighted with my painting 🤗🤗, I also know enough to fix a few things next time!!! I cannot thank you enough. ❤️ The Canson heritage paper.... not sure it's cheaper. Went to the actual Blick store in north Atlanta cause I didn't want to wait on shipping...bought a 20 page block -- $44. But I like it better than arches ... now can't wait to do another painting! Thank you for your consistency and hard work. I watch all your videos even if it's not something I intend to create .... I always learn something. Thank you!
I love, love, love this one, especially the trees. Beautiful. At first I wasn't sure I liked the texture of this paper but it really enhanced the granulation which I really like. I was also unsure about the color of the water but once the greens were in, it was perfect. I was amazed at how much lighter these paints dried. I'm glad you so enjoyed painting this scene and decided to go where the painting took you. I sure enjoyed watching. A must try. Thanks for this one! For anyone reading this, I HIGHLY recommend Lindsay's Landscape Class.
So pretty! I am in awe of your knowledge of color and color mixing. I know it has taken you years of learning and practicing but it just seems so intuitive and I covet that skill! And you have such a knack for painting (and drawing) what you see and not what your brain tells you what you see 😊 love watching!! 👍
Thank you for the great tutorial! I've been painting with acrylics for a few years now and decided to give watercolor a try last week. I love this one, and can't wait to give it a go. I feel like a fish out of water with watercolor but will keep practicing. Thanks for the tutorials.
i loved painting this with you! I really enjoy these longer tutorials. I also painted the garden door painting you did just this morning. Im giving both as gifts to my friends. Thanks for these
It was so nice to watch this painting come together! I loved seeing each section get filled in! Wonderful tutorial Lindsay! Thank you so much! Beautiful! 😊🏞💚
I loved hearing the excitement in your voice as the painting came together! And wow, it came together beautifully! Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas and explaining as you go along. This is beautiful!
Lovely painting. Where I live I don't see those colours and our mountains would have been hidden behind the trees. I was interested that you use so much Ultramarine. Years ago when I painted tropical rainforests I used massive amounts of Ultramarine blue. I'm very sleepy right now as it's a little after 1 am here. but I've enjoyed staying up to watch you do this painting. I didn't paint along, however watching has encouraged me to get back to doing more landscape painting.
I’m really enjoying this video. When you first did the water I thought it was too dark but now it looks much lighter. I love how your brush dances on the paper.
Thank you soo much for doing all these fun painting videos! I would absolutely love if you could do more gouache painting videos! I just recently bought a himi miya gouache 24 jelly cube paint set. I am so excited to start painting with it. I enjoyed watching your other gouache videos! ☺
This is such a beautiful painting, I love the colors you mixed - what a great variety of greens. The reflections really come alive with the white gel pen at the end. A pleasure to watch :)
It's BEAUTIFUL! I love a lot of your work, but this one is really gorgeous, I'll have to give it a whirl at some point, because dang near every single thing you did here is something I struggle with! I'll be signing up for the glass class too, of course!
Throughly enjoyed watching this, very nice relaxing tutorial, will give this ago latter on today, ah but on to house work and sigh must do a few more masks. Still painting latter this afternoon or I could have a whole half a day tomorrow it’s Saturday ...... yep will paint tomorrow maybe sketch things out this afternoon. Thanks again. 😀
So beautiful Lindsey!! We do get crimson trees here in Australia!! They are called Flame trees and they come out in October-Feb with the purple Jacaranda trees. Amazing together! You should look them up... Maybe you'll be inspired to paint them 😁👍
This is beautiful Lindsay! I learned alot in your Landscape class. Your lessons are always so well thought out. BTW, Dick Blick and Jerry's Artarama are selling the 12 sheet pads of Arches and Canson Heritage for almost the same prices: 9x12 is $14.43 Arches, $14.40 CH; 10x14 is $19.74 Arches, $19.20 CH. Really good prices for both papers. My favorites are Arches CP and Canson Heritage Rough.
This turned out beautifully! I wasn't sure about the water but once it dried I could see how perfect you made it...I am wondering tho' if I'm the only one that noticed you sketched in 5 trees on the right and then only painted 4, I kept waiting for you to find the trunk line...not that it makes a difference to the gorgeous painting! TFS
Just did this painting. I almost had a nervous breakdown. Had to slow Lindsay to 50% and she sounds drugged but its the only way I can somewhat keep up but not really. I am a new at this but I learned so much from this painting and it came out pretty good! Thanks Lindsay
This is beautiful, just what I like - nature and peace. Could this also be done with hard pastels? Thanks for everything you do, sure appreciate it here. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Gorgeous, Lindsay! What time of day were you painting? The crickets were so soothing to hear. Lovely trees, learned a lot. Thought about you all week--hope you're feeling a bit more comfortable with 44. I understand. Been there, hard yet easy. Enjoy these "honest" years! Thanks for all you do! GREAT landscape! Lovely and it even looks approachable for a beginner like me. I have mission gold paints, maybe I should try it with them when I get back from vacation....hmmm. Just FYI, I don’t know how you feel about Fabriano paper, but Jerry’s often has pretty great deals (like buy 9 get 3 free) on 22x30 format 100% cotton Fabriano. And it will be on sale to boot!I’ve found that I like it, but what do I know?
I love that; especially those trees, even the red ones. Sometimes I see orange evergreens here in WA. Probably because of a pest problem; but, it rains so rarely here in the summer, the young evergreens sometimes struggle.
I just paid $35 for 5 full sheets of Arches cold press from Blick online store. Each full sheet, 22x30, was $7.65 or so. That's a ton of paper. Of course, depends on how you size it down. And, I was able to get a nice size gator board for like $10
I was surprised by the way the pallet was set up. Why don't you just put some wax paper in between them? I am so glad people give away art lessons on the internet. It makes it so easy for people to learn in privacy because they are braver in what they try. You're a blessing on here.
Hi Lindsay, I have a question I hope you might know the answer to. I was watching a channel where the woman was showing her new watercolor supplies. She showed the tubes the paints came in but said she didn't like storing the tubes so she put the tube paints into one of those little white plastic watercolor palettes. But she gave no explanation as to how that works! Do they harden like pan paints that you moisten with water? It looked so nifty as opposed to using the tubes but she didn't say a word only showed it stored in the little wells of the palette. I asked in the comments how that worked, but no reply now in over two weeks. I would like to try this method with my tube watercolors and was wondering if you know how it works or if it really works as a storage. If you've never heard of this, I understand. I never saw it before either! But if it works.....I sure would like to give it a try! Thank you if you can help : )
Please spell out the web site pixel? Picker? You mentioned where u got your reference photo. I tried several spellings that didn’t work. Love the scene
Amazingly I can hear crickets in the background. So lovely. I'm watching in December...
I love watching and listening to you. Thank you.

Very relaxing Lindsay. I think I even heard crickets while you were painting this outdoor scene 👌😎. Thank you
That's beautiful! I like the looseness of it mixed with a few details. Thanks for sharing!
Right on time to help me out of my creative block! Also, I love your videos! You're like the female Bob Ross of the art community😊♥️

I agree, it is very relaxing. And very beautiful. Thanks for the instruction.
Watching to relax and I hear nature sounds 🤔 I'll have to watch again on Saturday so I can paint along. Thanks for the video!
i loved painting this with you! I really enjoy these longer tutorials. I also painted the garden door painting you did just this morning. Im giving both as gifts to my friends. Thanks for these
Absolutely stunning! I love how the red really makes the trees pop and gives so much depth to the painting. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful landscape! It was so inspiring and lovely to watch you create a world with your imagination, "looking round the corner".
So pretty, really enjoyed your tutorial.
Canson makes awesome papers.
It was so nice to watch this painting come together! I loved seeing each section get filled in! Wonderful tutorial Lindsay! Thank you so much! Beautiful! 😊🏞💚
That was fantastic 💖💖🤗🥰💖💖💖
Lovely, enjoyed your explanation of the colors you used and why. The length was just right for the accomplishment of a finished painting.
I loved hearing the excitement in your voice as the painting came together! And wow, it came together beautifully! Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas and explaining as you go along. This is beautiful!

I'm so glad you linked the landscape class. I knew you had to have one. I love the painting and can't wait to start the class.
Thank you!
"The mountains light up the scenery of gold, precious colors of nature ,will never grow old." This is so beautiful lindsay.👍👍👍👍😊
Love this! I have been trying different things to paint. And this is very fun.to try. Thanks I love learning from you

Love your painting, thank you for sharing your expertise.
Beautiful landscape. You draw very well. The landscapes are difficult for me I've painted something but it is always complicated for me. 👏👏👏👏🌈🌈
This is such a beautiful painting, I love the colors you mixed - what a great variety of greens. The reflections really come alive with the white gel pen at the end. A pleasure to watch :)
Aww, thanks so much Kimberly!
Swimming places is what I miss most about southern Michigan. I’m in Texas now, no swimming holes here.
There are some in Texas you just have to look really hard!! I'm in Dallas and there are some within 3 hours drive
In my home town I could go 15 min in any direction to one of 15 or 20 lakes.
So pretty. Love the colors you used.
Beautiful.
Beautiful!
So beautiful! Thank you for another wonderful tutorial.

I'm really loving that you used mijello gold 24 pan for this 💛🤍
It's so lovely!! I need to try it 😍 thank you for the tutorial ❤️
This turned out so beautiful.
Didn't think that the red tree would work and ong it turned beautiful into stunning 😍 ❤ rip that tape lol 😅
Nice landscape. I use that paper too, good stuff and affordable. 😀🧝♂️
So beautifully painted!

I didn't even notice the crickets lol! It was morning and I think a few chopped into my basement lol! They are a symphony at night!
Omg I have the same watercolor set and same tape 😱😱😱
So beautiful! 💗

thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich good not know! And it’s the frugal way to buy!😁
You make it look easy but my paintings never look this good. I won't give up just keep working on it
and we say, "Mm, that's some good art right there."
LMBO😂😄
Well done.. good share..good bless you.compliments from India 💝.let's stay connected ❤️

Great tutorial Lindsay!
Fantastic fun
This is gorgeous! I've saved it to my 'tutorials' folder. 😊

I love this!
Lindsay, do you feel watercolor paper should be stretched? Does stretching really help the buckling? I keep forgetting to ask you!
It helps but I only do it for lightweight watercolor paper or large sheets. It works great, I'm just lazy lol
I just paid $35 for 5 full sheets of Arches cold press from Blick online store. Each full sheet, 22x30, was $7.65 or so. That's a ton of paper. Of course, depends on how you size it down. And, I was able to get a nice size gator board for like $10
Once framed behind glass, can watercolor paintings could be hung in the bathroom or where steam is collected?
Make sure you mat it so the glass dosnt touch the painting and you will ok if it's not too steamy. It's not the best place but it. An work.
Enjoyed this! Thanks😁👍

That might work!
What tape do you suggest to tape the paper down with? I sometimes have trouble with the tape tearing at the paper but not always
Honestly I usually use sollar tree masking tape but I have lots of washi to use up so I e been using that:)
thanks, this was fun and mine actually didn't turn out poorly :)
Wow
Love this so much. Us Mariners could use a bit more rain😊

Yes, let them dry, they will be fine
@@thefrugalcrafter Thank you Thank you! this will be much simpler than working with the tubes!
