Lovely bike mate I've got a 79 r80 7 ex British police it's in similar condition to yours these bikes are brilliant to ride they handle great too nice one 👍
Beeeeautiful. Good to see how someone who sounds as young as you can appreciate such a glorious bike. PS: I'm getting the same bike like you as my first real bike :)
I had one of them in silver (polaris metallic ?) back in London UK in 1991.. mine was from 1988 though and the tail light was different ! Awesome video !!
Beautiful bike, although I would have gone with shiny black and pinstripe for the rear fender too, personally. Other than that, I have no complaints :D
Damn, the led headlight i buy for my r 1200 r have two stage light. one dedicated for braking. I thought it was rare but it's just a tribute an already 30 year old design
Darthpotato94 thanks mate. Beauty is somewhat in the eye of the beholder at this point. For a good runner, you’ll be at around 5-7k AUD.. frame off resto like this will be closer to 10k AUD.
Hey, you didn't choke it? This a cold start? ... To avoid (embarrassingly) running out of fuel, you might want to only turn on ONE fuel valve at a time - it does have the cross-feed, right?
Nice bike! Last time I bought the same R80. I know it's sound stupid but during ride I have to use the clutch when I want to change gears? Thanks in advance for help.
All good points. Very disappointing. I also noticed that the tyres weren’t original so I’ve actually set that bike on fire and put it out of its misery.
Ur rocker arms need adjusting, and since its restored it's probably not the valve guides unless whoever restored it didn't rebuild the engine. But definitely sounds like something in the valvetrain, I think I've heard diesel engines that wasn't that bad lol. I could be wrong I'm not very familiar with airhead boxers.
@@classicbikeenthusiast3595 gotcha, that's pretty wild but thinking about it I guess it does make sense because some older two-strokes sound like the have constant pinging or piston slap.
What a gorgeous machine! 🤩
How could be this clean!
Beautiful bike, congrats!

Wooooooww 66' Mustang GT350H. Nice
Wow. She’s a beauty.
Super clean
2 friends of mine a R75 and R90S. I had a Moto Guzzi V7 III Special and a Harley Sportster.
Great bike! I had one and sold it. Should have kept it! Enjoy.
Beautiful bike ❤

Sounds sound! :-)
Carburetor tops are not chromed originally, just aluminiuim...
800s did have that seat I owned one
wow thats so beautiful. How much does a restored r80 cost?

@@russellstafford9770 wow thats a lot of clams.
Everything is more expensive downunder, my cousin sent me a picture of a frozen pizza for $20 aud in Melbourne
@@michaelduffy2375 Your cousin got ripped off.
@@russellstafford9770 Not this year though. Prices have gone stupid in 2020.
'84 and wire spoked wheels!
Max Brettargh 😜
the "snowflake" (modified design of course!) wheels are much easier to keep clean. But, I guess there are wire spoke geeks!

pretty sure both fuel valves have on/off/reserve positions though...
I wish they'd release a modern version of this like Kawasaki did with the 900rs.
i hope they dont
Nice to see that you haven't butchered it and given it the laughable title of cafe racer/scrambler.
So true, im so over the cafe racer bikes and scene, they are the guys that ride about 4 times a year
Same here. There are some nice ones out there but there must be an attrition of like 1000 ruined bikes for every well executed one.
Nice bike!

R U kidding? Get off the bike and briskly walk away, now!
Rear seat misses the BMW bezel, so it is refurbished!

Valve cover are '70's posers aftermarket! (80 have edges.. HAR)

It’s an airhead thing ;)

be ware of parts painted black!
Valve covers are not original, edgy ones are from the 80's, and they are allright (unlike the ugly, plastic airfilterbox)
Looks like a Frankenstein to me, sorry!
Engine doesn't sound healthy.
Is the riding position comfortable? I assume the boxer configuration would make forward controls impossible?
