This video was excellent. I was quoted £384 for this to be fixed. I ended up ordering a 2nd hand regulator for £40 and used this video to replace it myself. The step by step instructions were excellent. Really clear and easy to follow. He zoomed in on some of the smaller detailed clips. It all went to plan. I did it myself in 2 hours and have saved myself £340! Thanks so much. I highly recommend this video.

For Driver door trouble shooting FS17 (7.5A) can short repeatedly. This could be due to a bad switch pack, interior lighting or the latch. There could also be a short in the wiring, the junction box or controller module.
I eliminated the interior lighting circuit first, then the switch pack (unplug), then the mirror (unplug), then the lock (unplug). Remember it takes 6 minutes driving for the fob-key to "relearn" it's settings. I found that the latch was not actuating viz. the actuator motor is toast. That also means that the driver door is physically not latched even when the rest of the car is locked.
So, bought a replacement door latch and I'll attempt to refurbish the original.

Great video. My window regulator failed fully down. How can get the regulator out it seems that there is not enough room to get the glass released from the keepers. Any help would be appreciated.
My door won't open, any hints how to get it open? I cant get to most of the screws to take the panel off.
All modern cars with this type of actuator have the same problem . the problem is a small white lever within the actuator which gets damaged , luckily there is an really easy fix which takes about 2 mins to sort and no need to purchase and install new unit. here is a link to a Discovery 3 with the same problem but showing very clearly the technique to use for the fix .
