Round Valley Reservoir: 2-Nights Canoe Camping with Kids

We went canoe camping at Round Valley Reservoir in NJ. We stay from Friday to Sunday in late May 2021 at campsite #28. We launched our canoe at the South Parking Area boat launch and canoed to our campsite. It wook us about 30-40 minutes reach our campsite. The campsites are only accessible by boat or bike/hiking trails; therefore, the campsites are very secluded. In the current pandemic state, there are only two water sources available at the campground, which are by campsites #7 and #78. Round Valley Reservoir is one of a few body of water that contains lake trout. The largest recorded lake trout was caught there. Unfortunately, the kids and I did not have much lucky catching the trout. Nonetheless, we had a great time boating, fishing, camping, and hiking. But above all, it was wonderful to share the experiences with each other. Round Valley Reservoir is a hidden gem of New Jersey.
