Clark leads rookies in scoring and assists. Her nightly numbers are actually closer to a triple double than Reese. It’s not that hard for a big to get 10 boards. Compared to a guard getting 10 boards. So I think what Clark is doing is more impressive

Angel is leading the league in rebounding as a rookie, is about to break the league record for double-doubles, while averaging less than 3 pts fewer than Caitlyn. In what sports league can you lead the league in a stat as a rookie, break a meaningful record, and not win ROTY? They likely will share or Caitlyn wins it but without the politics Angel is Wemby, and Caitlyn is Chet. They both had good seasons, but 1 did something unheard of.
Caitlin is 3rd in assists and top 20 in points and rebounds. Angel is leading in rebounds, out of top 20 in points and 50th in assists!
Plus, Angel has a low FG% for a forward and gets a lot of rebounds off her own misses.

Seems if you want to discredit someone leading the league in rebounds by saying the missed shots are hers you'd expect CC to lead the league in steals to account for the lost possessions she's responsible for too right? CC shoots a low percentage from 3 for someone who shoots almost 10 per game. She has an incredibly high turnover rate for a PG since we are basing things on position. CC is at the bottom of the top 20 in points and AR is literally right outside. They are less than 2 ppg apart and shrinking. The argument in college was that CC did something no other player in history did with stats even though she didn't win a title. Now we're saying that's not the case, and it's all about stats. Angel is leading in all impact advanced stats (Wins, win shares, offensive win shares, defensive win shares, etc..), CC just has a higher usage rate and shoots a ton of 3's to score 2 more points. Again, both players are having good seasons but one has already secured an all time historical season with several games to play.

Double double is a stupid stat to base ROTY on. Who has the harder role and the most impact? Caitlin. And Caitlin does more in terms of categories like points, assists, blocks and they have the same percentage of steals while Caitlin is respectable at rebounds. Caitlin's floor vision is special and Reese's ability to rebound is special but ultimately, regardless of which team edges out the other in the standing, Caitlin is more deserving.

Angel Reese is averaging 41% on 2 point shots lol. She's getting 5 offensive rebounds a game off of her missed shots. Caitlin clark and Reese are both averaging 12 shots a game. Reese is only averaging 1 more defensive rebound than Clark. We already see Clark's great passing ability. She'll going to average 10 assists per game before the season ends.
Do people realize that reese was the 7th pick in the draft and is the only one to break a league record as a rookie. Not rookie record, but actual league record. What Clark is doing is expected of her and her game hasn't translated to the league like Reese's has. Reese is picking up exactly where she left off. Broke the NCAA record for double doubles in a season, then came into the league and did the same exact thing in 19 games. No one thought she was gonna translate well into the pros, especially not her first year. Clark on the other hand goes from averaging 30 in college to 16 in the pros. She's also not shooting like she was in college

This season was set up perfectly. It will be interesting to see if it's the Sky or Fever that gets the 8th spot in the playoffs. They keep jockeying back and forth for the 8th spot. Whoever gets it will most likely also get ROTY.

The Chicago Sky ended the 2023 season 18-22 (0.450) and are currently 7-11 (0.389) this year. The Indiana Fever were 13-27 (0.325) in 2023 and are currently 8-13 (0.381). Angel Reese's double-double streak earned Chicago wins in only 4 out of 11 games. How important are those double-doubles really with that perspective in mind? I hope that if Indiana pulls ahead in the standings, Monica won't have any issues saying that Caitlin Clark is her ROTY.

That said , I would question Camilla Cardoso's production over Reese's. She was picked at #3 and her production is half of what Reese is putting out . Along with the fact that coach Witherspoon is still trying to find consistency at the 1 and 2 positions. You didn't even scratch the surface on what the Sky's issues are
@@pinkkennedy02 Statistics don't really care about feelings. The argument was that standings determine the rookie of the year between AR and CC. But if we look at the standings between last year and this year as they currently stand, the Fever are doing better than last year and the Sky are doing worse. That's just factual. I hope people aren't seriously trying to validate team standings as an argument for ROTY. Marquesha Davis hasn't snuck into the ROTY conversation yet despite the Liberty's current record.

Caitlin Clark has easily outperformed Angel Reese and is more deserving of the Rookie of the Year award. Reese will statistically have the most rebounds for a WNBA rookie, but so what? Caitlin has more pts, assists, and a higher PER efficiency rating. Clark has outperformed Reese and the complete stats show it.
The stats shows that Reese defensively is better as well as only being 3 points under CC.

@dgkendall1 SHE isn't that talented compared to other guards in the league. Notice her scoring is far lower than her padded and possibly false records from college. She's up against tougher defenders every game. She commits too many turnovers and plays very weak defense. One player recently stated that Clark can't guard a tree. She's just too slow on her feet and those in the media saying she's the greatest of all times are very hilarious. She's not even half as good as some of the great players in the past. Her dribble is also slow, as well as her drives to the basket. She's slow as molasses. FACT
Every category you just mentioned has way more to do with being point guard over being a power forward . If Caitlin doesn't have more points and assists than a power forward, something is wrong

To me, it’s about overall game and performance. CCs overall impact on the Fever can’t be understated. The offense is CC whether she’s shooting or facilitating. That’s not the case withe Reese. Further, Reese’s offensive game is severely limited compared to CC. They’re both putting up historic numbers and breaking records but to me based on overall game and the better player overall, it goes to Clark.

@@19934both of them are not the best defenders. The fact that Clark had more blocks than Reese in May and June tells you that Clark is performing better at a stat that is typical for a post player. So if both of their defense is not the best, than look at offense
