    I have the dewalt 4000psi 3.5gpm with the gx270. Bought the washer used and the motor is perfect. My pump actually blew up internally. Dummy me didn't notice when I tried it before I bought it that the unloader was tightened down all the way. Next day all excited I fired it up ran for a few minutes and bam. The fill plug blew off, pump was nothing but water and the internals were destroyed. I'm definitely going to get a cat pump and I'll have a stout setup with a hard lesson learned.

    *On my 3200psi 2.5gpm simpson washer with the honda gc190 engine I upgraded the pump to a 3600psi 3.5gpm My-T-M pump with the adjustable regulator and everything for $200. It's a commercial grade triplex pump with oil, return hose to keep it cool when you're off the trigger just like your cat pump and this pump cleans twice as fast as the stock simpson pump did. Well worth $200.*

      @@PaOutcast cat is up there at the top with AR, Giant, etc, but depends on your budget, but for a GC190 (5.2hp) id go with 4DNX27GSI, you can google that, its 3000psi @ 2.7gpm, probably the best but pretty expensive option

      @@AnthraxVX those cat 4DNX pumps are great but the canpump 3wz is about the same performance and much cheaper, and they are well built too, I have two old mi-t-ms that were used hard and only recently did I have to replace one of the pumps simply because they were neglected and not properly maintained over the years

  • @AnthraxVX

    great pump, great combo, but the problem here is the tip size i think, you are supposed to choose the proper tip size according to the chart, 3000 psi (is what your pump is rated) @2.5gpm is a number 3 nozzle(starting point, go up until its correct), getting higher psi may seem like a bonus, but in reality, it is causing excessive wear on that pump and will definitely shorten its lifespan. so either the nozzle or some sort of restriction. with that gauge you should be able to test and adjust the tip size till it gets 3000psi with unloader wide open, anything higher means 1 of 2 things or both, excessive wear and not getting GPM that pump is capable of

  • @FlashTechEngineering

    Hey, you now have to match your tip size to your pump... to much back pressure can damage your pump ..

    You should get the cat transmission for it so it cuts the rpm in half to save the pump

    That pump is for an electric motor. That might explain what it’s over 3000 psi.
    But it looks like it could blow a parked car off the street.
    I like your set up. I just ordered a GX200 Honda with a cat pump. 3000 psi.

    Man by the sound of it either good help is really hard to find or bad help is easy to find i don't know which is the case. One thing is for sure you got some bad luck with people trying to help ya hahahah. If I was you and I saw my buddy break off some threaded piece in my pressure washer I would have lost my shit. Good luck to you man. Oh and thanks for the recommendation on them CAT pumps, I'm gonna go ahead and take a look at one for my set up and see how it goes. Before watching this I had just thought you had to buy a new pressure washer every time your pump goes out. I had no clue that they made pumps that fit on any unit.

    Take off the bottom bypass hose and plug that opening and take off top bypass hose and replace with longer hose put into buffer tank that way the bypass water is cold and fresh all the time won't get hot and ruin the pump.

    • @howardosborne8647
      @howardosborne8647 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is very good advice. Having the water just looping around and getting steaming hot does the pump reliability no favours at all. We have a Cat pump on a trailer bowser and it loops back into the main tank so not really much likelihood of getting an overheating issue.

    I have one with a Honda GX 160 that had sat outside for three years under a tarp through cold and snowy winters the oil was never changed it was never tuned up the pump burnt up on it, I got it home put a new plug and fresh gas and this thing fired up on 2 pulls, I shut it off I didn't know the pump was bad at this point but I figured that's why it was sitting outside for so long, found the pump was shot put a cat pump on it and it's been doing the business ever since!! Great video

    You need a bigger nozzle orifice probably like a 3.0 or 3.5 you dont want to go over the rated working pressure of the pump meaning when the trigger is pulled an water is spraying. Not to go over the rated pressure

    • @timtamzrnice8052
      @timtamzrnice8052 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought not to go over the psi when the pump is holding so if the washer was rated at 4000 psi u set the holding pressure at 4000 then u get around 3500 psi when trigger pulled correct me if I’m wrong

    the AAA pump that had on it stock is not half bad. guy probably beat on it either not ever changing its oil or letting it idle alot. letting the preasure washer sit in bypass is probably the second quickest way to kill a pump other then running out of oil it it or maybe letting it freeze in the winter. or ran it without watter flowing first like he did when you went there. I always bleed out the air out of the pipes by running the wand held down without the engine running but the spiket on before I even start it as air is no good for a water pump.but nice find for 100 bucks
