    I love watching these videos to help get excited for my upcoming trip! I think it'd be great to see a video on best emersive restaurants. You always have San Angel inn on the worst lists because of the food, but I feel like the atmosphere is so great, it's still worth visiting. :) A lot of restaurants at Disney are worth trying just because of the great theming.

    California Grill is my # 1 favorite table service restaurant. I have dined here over 100 times sometimes twice a trip. The Staff is extraordinary and the food outstanding. I’ve taken 146 trips to Disney and have eaten at most table service restaurants. I find the Resort Restaurants to be amongst the best Disney offers.
    Jiko, Citricos, Narcoossees, Yachtsman, Kona Cafe & Chefs de France are other consistent favorites. Once I find a place I enjoy, I tend to return over and over again.
    That’s also reflected in my Resort choices. Our first stay at Disney World was at the Grand Floridan the month they opened. After a couple years we tried the Polynesian Resort and have stayed there on over 100 trips, all but 3 in the same room, 3501 in the Hawaii Longhouse (formally Tonga). We’ve tried the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge and French Quarter (which I think has the best Food Court). I’ve been to Disney Land and Disney Paris, but Disney World and the Polynesian will always be my home.
    Our next trip begins New Year’s Eve at the Polynesian.. I can’t wait to lock in our dining reservations!

      Gods Tricep I agree, but Bongos should be avoided! Worst experience in my entire life. Not one but twice, was invited by the GM to make it better, we ended up paying because he couldn't remember even after showing him the email I received from him.

    My top restaurant at Disney World is Via Napoli in World Showcase Italy. It used to be Tutto Italia, but after experiencing Via Napoli a few times, I have always had amazing food there, great service, and just all-around excellent experiences. Plus, it's at least half the price to what Tutto Italia can be.

    Pete, I totally agree with your #1 choice. Jiko's by far is my favorite restaurant on Disney property. I've eaten there three times a few years ago and I can still remember what I had there. The food was that memorable. The service was amazing! The waiter I had I asked for each time I went. I got him twice and would have had him each time if he hadn't been off that night. He was that amazing! I loved their wines and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. I would have their zebra martini for dessert. Couldn't have too many. They were very generous on the spirits. But so so good! I could go on and on about Jiko's! I highly recommend going there! Bravo Pete! Can't wait to go back! I also agree about Boma. I've eaten breakfast there and it was fabulous!

  • @jcvalenti

    So glad to hear Pete's comments on Jiko. It is my absolute favorite, and our last two trips we haven't been able to make it there. I was worried it was dropping off a bit in 2013, but I've had some of my favorite nights out in Disney World at that place, and everything I ever had there was wonderful. I loved the old Chermoula Tagine Chicken dish so much I went out and bought a clay tagine make it at home. Definitely one of the most unique restaurants in the US, let alone Disney World. And though Pete does not partake of the wine, I partake for several people, and that wine list there is a thing of beauty. I challenge you to find a blend on the Captain's List that isn't just fantastic - and something you will not see at any other restaurant.

    One of these days, my wife and I are going to spend a long weekend at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we're not even going to the parks. Between all the features of the hotel and those restaurants, we always question ourselves about why take ourselves away from it to go to the parks. We're overdue for a laid back Disney vacation, and the AKL is the perfect place to spend it. Just gotta get all three meal reservations in place.

    Wow! Great vid once again guys. The only complaint I have is how hungry I get watching these "best of" lists while being 1200 miles away. Nobody mentioned it but ALL the choices were hotel restaurants. Not a single park table service spot made the list. This is a great argument for setting aside days for resort hopping. Well done men and so happy to see you post Mathew! "Stay out of the damn lakes!"

    • @mollyrichardson9992

    Jiko is our favorite restaurant on property, excluding Victoria and Albert's. By far, V&A is an experience without equal in terms of food, wine, and service. So deserving of their recognition as one of three AAA Five Diamond restaurants in Florida. We are looking forward to an upcoming Flying Fish dinner as well. The first time we went there with the new menu was amazing. Enjoyed the commentary, guys!

    Just ate at Jiko and Flying Fish back to back. I must say Flying Fish used to be my favorite restaurant on property however, JIko has really really upped their game. • @KristiPetersenSchoonover
    @KristiPetersenSchoonover 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I always enjoy your best and worsts and especially enjoy comparing notes with you! It's so interesting to see how best and worst is really dependent on personal experiences, as you guys often state. For example, I've actually had to put Sanaa on my worst list. I've been three times. The first time the service was atrocious (our waiter actually bragged to us about how much he preferred waiting tables at Universal CityWalk, and he was loud and obnoxious, AND it took over an hour to get our food) and the meals were okay. The second and third times, the main dishes were awful -- I had salmon that was so dry I had to drown it in butter (that I had to request and they gave me a problem about) just to get it down (shame on me for ordering the same dish twice, hoping it would be better the second time). I recommend Sanaa only for the fabulous Naan Bread Service with the 12 sauces. That, in my opinion, is the only consistently good thing about this place other than the view, and now I take my friends there ONLY for that (and the African wines) and just avoid the main menu. On the other hand, we've never had a bad experience at Boatwright's, and have never had bad food there (it may be because we only usually order the filet mignon and the crawfish mac & cheese), and we've always found the service top notch (believe it or not I make a point to take friends there and have been there eight or nine times). I imagine if I go to BW's two or three more times and they bomb, I may reconsider, but so far that's yet to happen. The California Grill has also been exceptionally, consistently awesome for us. Thank you so much for doing a great job and keep up the good work!

    I had a meal with my family at Jiko in October and without a doubt the best meal and the best service of the entire trip . I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the server, i can only remember that he was from Cairo-he earned every penny and more, of his tip. The wine selection alone was spectacular (and well and truly sampled by our party of 5).

  • @JRL6211
    @JRL6211 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I absolutely agree, Jiko is absolutely amazing! It is probably my favorite restaurant anywhere and Sanaa has it for awesome food at a very reasonable price ... oh and the Killamaritas at Jiko/Jambo House are the best.
    I thought the Flying Fish was okay, but I probably won't go back myself. I'm with you in the Yatchsman, my filet has to have been one of the best I've ever had. I have never been to the other restaurants, as many times as I have been to Disney, sadly.

    Awesome video! Love all the choices and it has encouraged me to try a few of them. On the list, the only one I have tried is O'hana. Ate there on my last trip and it was EASILY my favorite meal on property. Speaking of Disney Springs, we also ate at Splitsville and were blown away by the quality of food and service there. You wouldn't think of having great food at a bowling alley, but the sushi and pizza were mind blowing. Idea for future video: Best restaurants for families with picky eaters. This reason is the main one why I haven't tried Sanaa or Jiko. I am open to try anything, but my wife is very picky when it comes to food :(

    You know what's so funny to me about 'Ohana is that I went in 2010ish and thought it was fantastic. Went in 2013 and was really confused as to why it was so bad. Gave it another chance in 2015 and was BLOWN AWAY. So something definitely changed there, but I'm not complaining (anymore). I also ate at Kona for the first time in February of 2017 and thought it was fantastic as well. We all split some sushi, dessert, and coffee, had a fantastic time, and enjoyed it a lot.

    I had one issue at Jiko; they didn't take my cell number down correctly, so we waited an extra 45 minutes before we discovered they had been calling the wrong number multiple times, thinking we were no shows. They made it up to us by seating us as soon as possible and throwing in the Taste of Africa sampler for free. Other than that wait, loved everything about it.

    Interesting choices, all good of course. Ibtoo am a fan of Jiko snd Sanaa.
    Curious that Victoria and Albert's didn't make the list, it's hands down the best dining experience in all of Disney.

    Do you need reservations for any of the restaurants at the hotels?

      It depends on the restaurant. Some of them are really popular, like pretty much all the restaurants they have on their list, and they book up real quickly so if you don't book your reservations a few months before your trip you probably won't get a chance to eat there. But majority of restaurants you should be fine just walking up and getting a table, depending on the time of year/day. I'd definitely try to get a reservation for the places you want to eat at if you can.

    Hey guys!! I thoroughly enjoy your videos! Me and my fiancé which are from Norway and Iceland respectively, try to make it to WDW three to four weeks a year at least (we recently just became DVC members so that makes it a bit easier). But just as a follow up; we are definitely going to try all of these restaurant the next time we go I February best year, but is there any preference as far as lunch or dinner go on these? Is there anyone you would definitely recommend doing one over the other at? Once again amazing videos, and I will now use this as my new reference😁

    Hey Pete, love your reviews and opinion BUT......regarding the Flying Fish in saying you need to go back several more times, take it from the average traveler, we have not been back since 2009, going back this year and booked a dinner there on the recommendation of your review. I understand the need for consistency but the average traveler usually have 2 MAYBE 2 shots.....just letting you know, love, love your shows!

    i LOVE Boma. Haven't eaten at Sanaa or Jiko. But I love Indian food and eat it a lot at home. So when I'm on vacation I like to do other things. No Le Cellier? That Filet with wild mushroom risotto is bank! I've given up pork and beef and I will eat a steak at Le Cellier. one a year isn't too bad right?

    'Ohana is wonderful, but beware shellfish allergy folk: be alert and cover your plate when the shrimp comes around as they will hold the shrimp over your plate over and over and over again, no matter how many times you tell them you have an allergy.

    Assume these rankings are referring to dinner/lunch? I've only been to Ohana for breakfast (many times) but it doesn't sound like you're talking about that.
