Suleiman learns that there are people support Mustafa in government and gets Ahmed Pasha in this alliance. He learns Piri Reis is their head and makes a shocking decision about him.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Sultan Suleiman was so submissive to his father Sultan Selim, he was never ambitious nor did he over step and this is what Sultan Suleiman expected the same from his sons. This is way Selim became Sultan, he never wanted the throne he just wanted to live and enjoy life with his drink music and the arts. Bayezid and Mustafa craved power and in the that was their downfall. Mehmed was the most worthy Prince and deserved the throne. Mahidevran never understood the the Sultan, hed she put aside her selfish ways and raised Mustafa better, he could've became a great Sultan.

Even valide sultana heard Mahidevran's plan to get rid of Hurrem's children. More likely, if Mustafa became a sultal, she would have arranged some "accidents" like a broken neck on a hunt or a sudden desease. So yes, Hurrem knew there was no other ways to save her family.
Hurrem sent poison to Mustafa's table and to the baby in Valeria's womb. She returned it through Mehmet and Chihangir. Beyazid also.

Hurrem and Mahidevran(and Mihrimah!) are of the same evil cloth. Their sons totally didn't deserve to die, but the mothers truly deserved to lose their sons. Poor Mehmet and Mustafa. At least they are together since they loved each other the most, out of the siblings. And even Chihangir and Bayezid have joined their most beloved brother, Mustafa. So all's well that ends well.
@@musclebunny131 I think this question was answered multiple times by multiple people. Mahidevran didn't kill Mehmet originally, it was shown so in the series to make it intresting. He really died of a deadly viral exanthem
