2 big adjustments that will make a huge difference. First, the bright spot you see is a result of the fact that the Lowrance mount uses a very steep angle that is really best for fairly deep water (12-20' deep). In shallow water, you need it to be more oriented towards the surface (like just slightly below being parallel to the surface). To do this, you need a mount that can change the angle (several after-market products do this, but I just made a mount out of PVC and hinged the bottom part so I can adjust manually). This makes a HUGE difference...scout mode is awesome if you can tilt it up a bit. The second adjustment will help with your interference...turn sonar off on the 2D transducer. I know they are nowhere near the same frequency, but I always get interference from the trolling motor transducer and I can either put up with it or just use the "stop sonar" feature on that other transducer to turn it off while I'm using Active Target
Thanks. I got similar feedback about shallow water but that location was just a random spot. I’m not looking for shallow water performance. It looks the same over 30’. Like you said, I thinks it’s 2D interference. I realized I had just turned on the chirp 2D transducer and that’s when the screen went to crap. Haven’t been able to get out but next time I’ll turn it on and see.
Btw i just rewatched your video. Look at your range setting. It is showing hard bank line at 30 feet and only looks like ur 30 feet from shore. Set your max forward range to 40 or 50 feet and check.
@@fowlplayoutdoors68 got ya. Yea im used to garmin names. Your install on transducer looks correct for scout mode. I do know lowrance version of scout isnt as good as garmins from what ive seen. In forward mode both lowrance and garmin are great.

You wanting to use it in perspective mode?
Scout mode. That’s the view that is like side scan but it pans with the trolling motor.
