  • These women are truly vicious! I honestly didn't believe women's rugby would be as intense as men's but I was proven wrong!
    Thanks for all of the support!

    The rules are the same as mens rugby and it's just as hard as the men's game.
    Even women's rugby makes NFL look lame.

    The same laws are used as in men's rugby union with the same sized pitch and same equipment.

    When I was younger one of my neighbours was a school headmaster at A primary school where they play rugby league. He had another headmaster ring him from the school they were playing next week, wanting to have a bet on the game. My friend agreed to it because he had an ace up his sleeve. Imagine the other guys face when my friend's team showed up for an under 13 game and one of his boys was 6"2 and one hundred plus it's.big Islander lad.my friends money was pretty safe. The poor kids on the other side looked pretty nervous when the saw him

    NO rules (Law) differences.
    There isn't a direct correlation between who're Top Ranked internationally but like does tend to breed like. The major variance being the US. Our Men are barely holding on to a top 20 spot and our Women are more like Top 5.
    Numbers above 15 for substitutes.
    That shot at the beginning... The video gives you no context asto why she was bleeding.
    I've seen the story. The girl is from OZ. Played colligate rugby here in the States.
    Anyway, this is from a 7's match.
    She made a crushing tackle against a girl twice her size. (this is where her nose got broken)
    She pops right up. Moves across field and drives the opposition away at a ruck.
    Next she loops outside and makes another hard tackle where the whistle blows for a knock on.
    All of this within 15 or so seconds of breaking her nose.
    She's my Hero.

    Turning a player around 180 is a penalty and usually 10 min yellow

  • @dezman56ford
    @dezman56ford 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Whilst some of the tackles look spectacular, it should be noted that lifting a player off their feet in the tackle enough to physically rotate them and then bringing them violently back to ground would be deemed dangerous and would likely lead to a penalty against the tackler and a probable yellow card.

    • @caza00caza

      You mean a definite red card 😂. Dumping someone on their head and neck is dangerous most likely it isn't an accident

      @@caza00caza Its a judgement call, I don't believe the tackle had malicious intent, she's a big beefy unit and she would have been as surprised as everyone else how easily her opponent was rolled, luckily the recipients rear upper torso bore the brunt of the impact, and not the head, its possible some refs may think as you do and may red card her, for me, its a yellow.

    In any code of Rugby you can lift a player off their feet and you can slam them down on their ass or their back, but it's pretty much anything more than that is a penalty and landing them on their neck or head is a red card. Rotating a player 180 degrees and slamming them down (or dropping them) on their head and neck is called a Spear Tackle and is one of the biggest no-nos in the sport.

    • @rittherugger160
      @rittherugger160 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, a Spear Tackle is nothing like that. To do what you described requires that you grasp the player.
      A Spear Tackle is one where you make no effort to wrap/grasp the opponent which is required by Law to tackle a player. A Shoulder Charge.
      You basically "launch" yourself like a spear.

      Lifting and dropping or driving a player into the ground so that their upper body contacts the ground first is a penalty offence. Even the upper back is a penalty.

    In the fifteens game, numbers 1 through 15 identify the fifteen starters. 2 is the hooker (like an American football center), 9 is the scrum half (quarterback )15 is the fullback, (safety) etc. Numbers 16 through 25 are the subs. Also, 32 players total travel with the team. 25 suit up for any one game.
    In sevens, 12 players suit up for games. Seven start. Lower numbers play forwards, higher numbers are the backs. Lately, NZ Black Ferns sevens have been using numbers like 77 and 81, so the numbers are not as significant. Keep an eye on the number seven for Austrailia (Charlotte Caslick) and New Zealand (Tyla Nathan-Wong) probably the two best scrum-halves in the world.

    Rugby is an olympic sport now..And there is a world cup played that really is a world cup, not like the NFL where it's just America, and occasionaly Canada, but 30 or more nations, including America!..And the game is growing!..Example- Japan used to be NFL..Now Rugby is taking over, because it's more of a spectacle and not stop/start/teamchanges and 'time outs'! We play the entire 80 minutes, one team with only stoppages being for injurys! Rule!..You can always pick a Rugby player..We have no front teeth and all have bent noses!
