Looks easy... :) First you have to remove the transmission (not so easy) By the way: This is not the correct way to exchange the clutch!!! If you do it like this you will have a noisy and not well working clutch / transmission. The whole clutch package is balanced. You have to paint some marks to reassemble the clutch package in the correct (balanced) position. Next you need to measure the clutch position (it's an adjustment in height)! The mechatronics is able to do an adjustment but this (video) is really the "quick and dirty" way to do a clutch repair on a Volkswagen DSG. There are some washers (delivered with the original repair package) with a different thickness to adapt the new clutch package to the transmission. It might work or not when you do it like this!
Nice job, good video, this is simple compared to CVT transmission , my bought a 2008 Nissan Altima SL with 2.5 SL CVT and it came with a lifetime warranty on the CVT from Nissan and now it has 130k miles on it and never any issues yet, car is quiet, and in Canada here our winters in Manitoba, yes purgatory its so freaking cold,LOL, -30 fahrenheit is common and he has never changed the CVT fluid yet and gets got mileage all year round,I would still rather have a DSG or conventional auto trans or a manual, i have heard you upgrade works well and your procedure here is pretty simple and straight forward, i built big industrial autos for allot of years for different companies, they were mostly component or unit repairs, valve bodies, actuators ,etc, and way, way too much fluid everywhere ,LOL, the biggest problem with them was lack of maintenance, overheating and contamination , using non compatible fluid, one customer just bought 1 gallon jugs of atf and wondered why his equipment stopped working inside of half a day, it was almost a whole new trans for him, that is why there are pros like your shop, I guess it does take longer to remove the trans then the clutch pack upgrade, as my old boss use to say, it is much easier to work on when it is out and on the bench.
some dsg's and automatics have the same set up as a bike clutch. for those aasking what is the difference of the +1 disc more presice and friction is distributed to more discs so less slip and less ware but needs a software update because the ecu needs to readjust the gaps
What's the expected life of the clutches in an Audi DSG? My 2013 S6 is about to turn 90k. if it were a manual, I'd probably have replaced the clutch by now.
Thanks for this nice vidéo, but I have a question, could you explain how I can check the reliability of the double clutch of my dsg6 before disassembling the box? thanks a lot for your help.
G,day John, is it true that the 2011 Audi S4 DSG megatronics have a a lot problems I was going to buy a 27,000 kilometre S4 B8 but lot ppl say it will go bad sooner or later and will cost $$$$$$$ megabucks ?.?.?
I'm not sure why Marty B Said they last only 65,000mi. I have removed and disassembled a handful DSG 02e DQ250s all of which had over 200,000mi and the Friction/Steel plates where good enough for another 100,000mi at least. If you change the fluid half of VAG 40,000mi reccomended intervals the DSG CLUTCH Pack will survive. Idk about everything else lol.
Hi, i wonder what this does for the gear box? is it faster transmission of power cuz they grip earlier because of the thickness?? Are they lighter?? How is it an upgrade??
Nice video...quick question. i have a 2006 audi b7 auto trans and when putting reverse it takes about 4 seconds to do the shift. What might be the problem??
I have an 05 tdi with DSG. Rattles really bad when idling in gear and taking off, replaced DMF but wasn't the problem. Rattle sounds different than a bad DMF. I have videos on my channel. Please help! Is this from the clutch being worn out?
Hi GREAT Vid but I have a question there are 2 dsg vag transmissions one is 6 speed and the othere is 7 speed, in my car, a european SEAT LEON which uses the chassis of the A3 and VW golf mark VI and 1.8 tfsi vag engine, not known in the usa, there is a 7 speed dsg transmission. Will your upgrade work in my car?
Only when replacing the clutch and case as a 1 piece - the way it's sold from the dealer. If you're keeping the same case, the measurement remains the same so you can reuse the old spacer circlip. Technically, if you don't have the dial gauge indicator, you could buy the clutch kit from the dealer, pull out the friction discs and plates and just transfer them into your old clutch case. Then you just reuse your original circlip. Not the best way, but it works with the same success as if you were to measure things out and use a new circlip on a new case. Your adaptations of the mechatronic will pass successfully and the clutch will work correctly for it's intended life.
Could you tell me how much torque the stock clutches can take? Because mine has like 190 ft. lbs stock and I wish to upgrade the torque to about 280...
You should never touch the cover seal,or use oil on it and never install the cover over the shaft without a sleeve tool to avoid damaging the seal lip !

Martin B. And those people find them selfs professionals 😂
Can you tell some more about the washers that must be put in place in order to have the mechs working good?
Hi, I have a problem to put the bis clip. How you can put the big clips at 6 min 41 to 6min 44? Do you have a link? Thank you very much. Yves
You are 💯 correct sir I am a mechanic for 10 years and you are right
We're can I find the correct way to do this?
Before was 4 disc and you put 5 discs? And its fits normally? Where i can buy the upgrade for my gti?
5:28 be careful.. nice i got the point thanks..

*drops clutch* careful now, you got these rings over here 😂
What exactly does this upgrade provide in terms of performance and reliability?
i would guess durability for high HP mods + smoother shifts, when you have high torque its best to upgrade
Handles more power/replacing worn clutch packs?
There are additional Friction added thus more material to grip the flywheel and put the power to the ground. Hope this makes sense.
Shouldn't you oil those plates before instal? It is WET clutch after all and soaking them in oil bath seems a good idea.
What is the benefit of the upgrade of clutches? Cheaper than stock ? Grab better ? Using different fluid that’s cheaper ? ????
I liked the video, but he never mentions what the value is of performing this upgrade or what the cost is.
Nice job. Thanks for sharing it. Ive got one to do soon so will help a lot.
How did that go 5 years on?
wow great job bro . you make it look so easy. Thank you for this video
You share how good is installing an Audi gearbox. thank you
Are you supposed to drop the clutch during installation? 5:29
Yes crucial part to properly installing it
This guy really murdered the thing.
LOL...
Customers car. He fucked it up but will end up blaming them so he doesn't have to cover the warranty.
Is there a problem with the transmission turbine
My friend this is easy for you Not for this people who don't know nothink about Transmission.

more presice and friction is distributed to more discs
so less slip and less ware
but needs a software update because the ecu needs to readjust the gaps
I feel like if I watch this enough times I will know how to do it lol
That's what you think!
hướng dẫn khắc phục số tự động audi rất hay ,cảm ơn anh đã chia sẻ
looks so simple when you are doing it.☺
Looks easy
Did you soak ALL the friction discs for both clutches prior to install?
He said he soaked them in trans fluid for 15 minutes before assembly
He mentioned that he had soaked the friction plates for 15 minutes prior to reassembly.
How much does the clutch cost and how is it better than the genuine VW one?
go to apr
Where is the upgrade?Tks for your work, but please explain ;)
What was the upgrade? He didn't tell us.....
Amazing DIY ! ipttrans of course!
Every use to hate on this style of transmission. But now look at all the other manufacturers coming out with there double clutch transmission.
Why is the advantages over the stock clutch?
What's the expected life of the clutches in an Audi DSG? My 2013 S6 is about to turn 90k. if it were a manual, I'd probably have replaced the clutch by now.
Hi,
I have a problem to put the bis clip.
How you can put the big clips at 6 min 41 to 6min 44?
Do you have a link?
Thank you very much.
Yves
It always looks easy watching a experienced person do it,is the dq200 7 speed the same as this
Man handing the inside of that gear box like it’s nobody’s business
Hi, what about thickness measurement of the circlip?
Looks easy because I watched a seasond pro do it. 🙂
he probably took off the transmission using his fingers
maggot6639 😂😂😂
From the looks of it he also used only one hand. The other was for holding the car up.
Hahahaahahahahahaaha
Lol that’s funny
excuse me was this a cvt transmission??/ and I couldnt figure out where clutch pack oil pressure lines was going through??

Thanks for this nice vidéo, but I have a question, could you explain how I can check the reliability of the double clutch of my dsg6 before disassembling the box? thanks a lot for your help.
Man how do you remember which go where
Can't understand, what it will give? I herad of DSG Software upgrade but just changing clutch it just repair of old one....
When you change the clutch it's highly recommended to calibrate it. For that you need software to do it. An oficial one, or other like VCDS.
So similar to a bikes wet clutch.
in german introduction videos the snap ring must be measured and choosed from different thicknesses .... why is it not here ?
you know your stuff dude, good work
If I want a kit for my stage 3(unitronic) and stage 2 dsg b8.5 s4 does it works even know I dont run your software ? And how much thx
thanks for video.Its very helpful
thanks for the video god bless you

Don't believe all the horror stories.
thanks sirfor this video ,do you have any video about replacing dry double clutch
So what was the upgrade??
How long would an upgraded clutch on a DSG last under nornal driving conditions?
I don't know the "upgrade" but for a normal clutch it should last for 65.000 miles. Make sure you have the actual SW-Version for the transmission.
I'm not sure why Marty B Said they last only 65,000mi. I have removed and disassembled a handful DSG 02e DQ250s all of which had over 200,000mi and the Friction/Steel plates where good enough for another 100,000mi at least. +gii SB
I am wondering that too - but since your question is a year old I think there will be no answer.
u r the best dude, well done
checked your website. didnt see the clutch kit for the mkv r32 dsg. do you not sell this?
Do you have videos of how the upgrade handles? How does it hold up? Is the reliability increased?
Awesome video, congrats!
Is this taking a normal clutch or just upgrading an existing DSG?
And Is this a dq250 from GTI And Golf r ?
Nice video...quick question. i have a 2006 audi b7 auto trans and when putting reverse it takes about 4 seconds to do the shift. What might be the problem??
Change the trans oil
Same in my 2009 a3 cab dsg 6
Mi caja patea solo activando reversa y drive
you make it look so easy

Muffler bearings without a doubt, run it until redline in 3rd gear that should fix it.

dsg7 is a dry double clutch. nothing common with dsg6 which is wet multi disc clutch.
do u have anything for audi cvt grarbox?
multitronic
nice video. Thanks for the info.
Can you tell me the code of the friction plates? From where you bought those and how mutch was the price? Thanks!
Man those are the same style clutches that my KTM has! Lol
Need to use a specific size snap ring which is determined by two measurements and then formula vw

Are the upgraded (6 plate) set thiner then the stock set (5 plates)? Or is their just extra clearance in the pick for the extra plate?
Thanks
Great video thanks for the help
Could you tell me how much torque the stock clutches can take? Because mine has like 190 ft. lbs stock and I wish to upgrade the torque to about 280...
Do not have removed the transmission of collecting mania ?
what is the advantage if we upgrade the cluch plates?
It'll handle more torque from the engine. Only needed if you mod the car.
Great job mat
спасибо, я и раньше на АКЛ добавлял диски.
Audi s6 trans what yr car make model
Do you offer clutches for the S-tronic 0B5?
Good job! Greetings from germany
HI . I was wondering if a 2003 audi 2.0 transmission will fit a 2003 jetta engine ?
You should never touch the cover seal,or use oil on it and never install the cover over the shaft without a sleeve tool to avoid damaging the seal lip !
Great video, do you have the Dual Clutch Kit for the DSG7 DQ200, dry clutch system??
Did you ever find one for the dry clutch system?
no not as yet dsg 7 i need it for
I saw one search on youtube for luk dsg7 clutch and you would see it.
thanks alot !!
Your welcome!
what diferences i wiis l have if i change this pack
well that's a very interesting video thanks, can you explain why you are doing it and what is the upgrade going to achieve?
Damn! Nice job!
You horny
Handsome macho man tuning DSG^^
Gay?
Its 2020 man get on the boat lmao
could someone tell me what will this upgrade do?
al alex D2 adds an extra clutch disk. More friction, faster smoother shifting. Can handle more heat
brilliant.
I really wouldn't want this guy pulling apart my transmission...
Exactly, he dropped things multiple times...
😂
why would you install a bigger clutch? Is it to have faster gear switches?
to hold more power without slipping.
It'll handle more torque. Some VW owners up the their HP significantly and need this
Hi Where can I buy one of these clutch Kits.
Thanks Peter
Whats the price off the kit?
what diferences i wiis l have if i change this pack, pleaze write more detales, i have gti with DSG
