There's actually a 747 at my local airport full scale model with every details intact. You can actually fill it with passengers and fly it. It's made of all the original materials. It'll go thousands of miles, as the fuel tanks are scale. Obviously the RC won't transmit that far, so they made it to be controlled from inside the plane.

I guess what was on in my head was, how far will they take this? At what point will they cease to become models. These things are huge, really expensive, and at some point one might as well just buy a small plane. I'm sure you can buy a small plane for way less than some of these model cost to build...but, hey, if they're having fun, why not I guess. They're certainly very impressive.

Randall, yes, that is the more impressive part of these large scale rc aircraft, look up rc B-17 aluminum overcast, the video with the two bladed props looks like his first flight, impressive

It has gyros on it, a 2 year old could fly it, don't even need to add rudder to do knife edge, the computer does it, lol.

Thats why I drive a 2019 VW Passat!!! Im all about America and retired from the Army but nothing beats good old fashioned German engineering!!! I also lived in Germany for 3 years and its a beautiful country. Actually it was West Germany at the time so never got to see East Germany!!

Flying a military aircraft is a thing out of this fucking world, but a jet fighter............ when you realize what you really have between you legs and in your hand, oh man that must be only topped by flying in the space shuttle or some other like Saturn V.................

Because these cost thousands and full sized jets cost millions. Also because this is a person who is way into RC and this is like the peak of that hobby. I fly RC planes and really enjoy it, but I don't have a pilot's license and can't afford it anyway. RC's not a consolation prize, it's a great thing to do in its own right. Can be very satisfying building these scale projects too, if you're into making things

Holy f with all the work why not just build one you can fit in and fly it yourself . I am sure it would not have cost much more ,a small child could fit in that one so for a bit more metal it could fit a adult.
