That's a beautiful area up there, we base camped on Franklin, and kayaked that area, those waves can really get kicking, swamped my kayak twice, but it was a hell of a lot of fun.
Hi Kevin:: Looks Great! Any time I was near a Massassauga rattler it was in a bigger hurry to get away from me than me,it.but I never tried open stretches like you did. Thanks Brian 76
I have previously watched and enjoyed the long version of your trip: this was a nice refresher. Great trip and an amazing area to go canoe/kayak camping. Late in the fall is my favorite time, no people and no bugs :-)
I can see why a GPS is helpful there! Where I live we have a similar problem with mangrove islands that all look alike and blend together, so you have to sort your way thru to find the routes.
Thanks for posting Kevin, just love the videos where you and Andy are exploring. Says this is the short version, I must of missed the longer one. Plus I haven't noticed anything from this past summer with Andy. Are there any videos? Thanks!!
Hi Kevin I have a question about an ottertail paddle. Do I need to get a longer then normal size paddle for the ottertail paddle? Was going to order one, but wanted to make double sure. Thank you for your time Mike
Good question. You would use the same size paddle with a ottertail. The idea of the otter tail is that the blade is further under the water and pushes more water. Great for solo. You might want to go up one extra size when solo.
KCHappyCamper thanks for the reply :-). So if I normally use a 52 inch paddle I'd want 54-56 inches? I'm so sorry for bothering you. I can imagine it must be a full time job all on its own to try and answer everyone's questions. You are the best.
KCHappyCamper yes. Going on my first solo this spring to the BWCA. I normally use a bentshaft paddle, but after watching you with your ottertail I read about it and seems like the best option. If I'm 5 feet 5 inches would I measure up to my chin?
I don't know why you are worried about bear poop on your campsite. Clearly it's just the bear's pooping spot. I'd be worried about a dining table setup on the campsite...
I know this vid is over 4 yrs old but thank you Mr. Baxter for showing your respect for our ways.
What a hoot and great scenery to boot. Thanks😘
I wish we had islands like that on the west side of Georgian Bay . 🇨🇦👍 thanks.

This made my day! You guys are so much fun and the scenery was wonderful and different.looks like you had a good time
8 days for 80 kms? You guys didn't do much paddling. Looks like a lot of fun.

Hi Kevin. Is what I asked make sense about the paddle or should I not be bothering you? Sorry for bugging you

No problem. I'd go 54 but only if you're going to solo with it .
