Escentric Molecules Escentric 04 + Molecule 04 Review + 10 Samples Set Giveaway
Escentric Molecules is a unique fragrance brand focusing on one aroma molecule for each release in the series. For Escentric 01 and Molecule 01 the focus is ISO E Super which is supposed to smell like sandalwood/cedarwood. For Escentric 02 and Molecule 02 the focus is on Ambroxan which is supposed to smell like ambergris. For Escentric 03 and Molecule 03 the focus is Vetiveryle Acetate which is supposed to smell like vetiver. And now for Escentric 04 and Molecule 04 the focus is on Javanol which is supposed to smell like sandalwood. Javanol is a new generation sandalwood molecule. The Molecule releases focuses on the single aroma molecule and the Escentric releases are created with complimentary notes to enhance that specific aroma-chemical. This is a very unique concept and I'm digging these releases. But I have to say I was very skeptical at first with the Escentric Molecules fragrances especially when it came to Molecule 01. In fact when I received Molecule 01 I couldn't smell anything but I exercised my nose enough to where I can certainly smell the woody sandalwood and cedar combo in the Molecule 01 fragrance which features the ISO E Super aroma molecule
For Molecule 04 the focus is Javanol and I have been wearing Molecule 04 for sometime now and I must be a slight bit anosmic to this molecule as I don't pick it up much but in the end I do get a hint of creamy sandalwood which I quite like but it's certainly faint and hardly there. Now with Escentric 04 I really am enjoying this release and loving wearing this fruity, fun and happy release which uses the Javanol note with the complimentary notes to make Escentric 04. I cannot wait for it to warm up a bit more to really enjoy wearing Escentric 04 as I think it comes alive when it's really warm out.

The Escentric 04 and 05 are out of this world. They smell unique and amazing. Im 26 yrs old and females love those two
I'm a fragrance layer-er anyway, so I love the idea of the Molecule line. I've only gotten to play around with Molecule 01 so far, but I'd love to get my hands on the other ones. Yesterday, I layered Byredo's Bal d'Afrique over Molecule 01, and it was divine! I'm a sandalwood fan, so Molecule 04 sounds perfect for me.
Escentric 02 is a great one you really should try it, Sebastian.
I find this brand offerings very interesting, the idea of training you nose to get used to their fragrances while people keep complementing your fragrance that you are unable to smell is mind blowing. This happens to me with my Molecule 01 and I really love it.
Would really be great to try the new releases 04, because of that interesting Javanol note in there.
Excellent review Sebastian. I have M01 and I'm still up in the air about it. I'm still pondering the thought of "The Emperor's New Clothes", LOL! Even when I can smell it, it smells like spray starch to me. Now, Escentric 04, whoooooole different ballgame. E04 is citrus with the nicest creamy Sandalwood. I love this stuff. Keep the videos coming my friend.
I am absolutely in love with M04 now it's my fave over M01. While during this video I was anosmic to the smel of M04 now I can totally smelle it.
I like that they are modern and mysterious. I also like their versatility and the option to mix them with other fragrances to make your own personalized cologne.

I've tried Molecule 01, 02 & 03 with Molecule 03 being my least favorite. I've been waiting for the 04 version to be released.
I sprayed Molecule 04 on the back of my hand once and it almost slapped me in the face! Such a powerful, clean scent. I let it dry a little and put one spray of Eau Givrée on top. Just stunning!
I'm curious to the whole Molecule/Eccentric line. I've heard so much about Molecule 01, I'm intrigued by these other fragrances to see what they are all about. Thank you for the opportunity!
I have full bottles of Molecule 01 and 02 and will eventually get 04. I didn't really love 03 but I'm sure about 04 even before I smell it. They all perform great in Texas heat.
I love how they merge "science" with the art of perfumery. It appeals to my geek nature. 😀 Being a lover of Sandalwood, the 04s interest me greatly. I'm already thinking about layering possibilities...Tam Dao EDP?

I think I gave up on this line too quickly. I thought I was ordering Molecule 01 a long time ago, and ended up with Escentric 01. I could not stop thinking of celery seeds every time I smelled it, and never bothered to look into the line any further. This one sounds like it could be a little more up my alley. I'm always interested in this kind of thing as the future of perfumery. Cheers from Michigan.
Great review again Sebastian! Never tried Eccentric Molecules but you got me interested in E04. I'd like to have a new fresh greenish spring/summer scent. I tend to use Untitled and L'eau d'Hadrien. What would you suggest? This one? Byrero or Atelier Cologne? Light vetiver perhaps?
Good review, Sebastian. I honestly haven't smelled any from the Molecule lineup nor do I own a bottle. I have seen lots of chatter that the Escentric Molecules 01, 02 and 03 work for layering purposes. Many people have their own opinion when it comes to layering with another scent. I do my own method of layering to give the juice more performance and longevity on my skin.
I have to get my nose with all of these Chemistry Lab Colognes and buy a full bottle. It's very intrigued creations. Florida.

I have a discovery set of Molecule 1-4, and Escentric 1-4. I love it all , I can smell all of them thankfully.
I have tried 01 and was anosmic to it, but now that you've said that more testing is needed, I definitely would love to try this out!
I agree with you about the eccentric 4 but I want to do out of all of them what’s the best during winter/fall seasons
I have Molecule 01 and it gives off a present light-cedae sandalwood vibe, but it's faint and I've never revives a compliment. Nowadays I'll layer it with summertime citrus/freshies since it gives it more depth, which I prefer. I don't have high expectations for 04 but I would love trying a sample just to how it performs and how I can use it with my other scented weapons here in VA. Cheers on your exclusive review.
It's a layering cologne. You spray it on let it dry down then apply your other cologne...it smells different on everybody's body...its a one note phormone...you have to experiment a little but its a genius concoction if i may say so myself.
I have heard a lot about the Molecule line, but 04 sounds very intriguing. I really liked the idea of having a single "note" as the main fragrance but then adding complimentary notes to highlight the original. 04 Eccentric is a must have! Living in the hot summers in Sacramento I think it would be a fantastic fragrance to wear!!

Molecule 1 did nothing for me. I couldn't pick up any scent whatsoever. But there has been some good hype around these new releases and I'd love to check them out.
I have been very interested in the Esscnctric series. I really liked Molecule / eccentric 1 and would love to try the 04 series. I live in Arizona so i am always in need of good hot weather scents and this sounds really interesting.

Yes definitely! Its fresh, spicy, metallic ( if you like that), minerally and long lasting. Also layers well with anything. .. Can't wait to try 04!
I've heard so much about this brand and have never had the opportunity to try any of the fragrances. I really enjoy sandalwood but haven't pulled the trigger on a sandalwood fragrance, hopefully if i win, these will persuade me to get a full bottle.
Molecule 01 always shows up on the most complimented lists and I have never smelled it or any from this company. I like the idea behind them, I didn't know the backstory. I would be interested in checking out the samples from this company.

I find Molecule 1 an easy to wear, fresh, clean scent. It's mysterious in its ability to disappear only to show up again and again in surprising ways. This sounds intriguing - I'd love to try it out.

I get sample molecule 02 and did not smell nothing. I will like to compare and never smell other one. And kind of bad that macys or sephora don’t carry this brand. I would like smell them.

I wored today Excentric 04 i got bad feedback from colleagues that smelled like sweat. I got that feeling as well. I had to wipe it off. I love 01 and 02

I would love to be entered into the giveaway draw for these! I have not smelled any of the fragrances from this company before as they are not sold in stores where I live. The whole concept behind them--producing high-end fragrances using synthetic molecules which is great for the environment-- is so appealing to me and hopefully I'll get a chance to smell these!

Great vid! Sandalwood has always been a hit or miss note for me. Being a fan of Molecule 1, I'm very curious to see what they do with this! If it has the same elusive yet ever present feeling that Molecule 1 gives off, I'd be thrilled to try it.

Hi Sebastian! Thank you for hosting a giveaway! I believe I smelled Molecule 01 and had a similar experience. I could smell it for a little while then it seemed to have disappeared from my nose's detection. Very interesting to me. I think these scents would be great in the office, something to wear that falls to the backdrop. I don't have anything sandalwood centric and want to add a couple to my collection with sandalwood as I do love the note. Cheers!

I really want to try both of these. Based on what you described, the synthetic sandalwood note sounds very nice. I do not own anything from the house. I wasn't sure if I wanted to "buy" into the hype since some feel it's all a marketing gimmick. I guess if I win I'll find out for myself. (IL)
Hi Sebastian how is it going brother one thins is i have never smelled none of the line but i would love to also the whole molecule blending with your skin is interesting also the fact that you can layer them together is cool and for this summer anything that is fruity and fresh and uplifting is great in a nice outdoor pool party here in Miami thanks for what you do.

I just got the email from Lucky Scent that these scrnts released. I really enjoy molecule 1. I was fortunate enough to smell it from the first time I applied the scent on my skin. I have never received any compliments on M1 but I do enjoy it.

I do! Even if I never get compliments I really enjoy Molecule 1 as well as Juliette Has a Gun "Not a Perfume". Both are (IMHO) completely appropriate in most situations.

I've been very curious about Escentric Molecules fragrances, since they're based primarily on synthetic molecules. I haven't had an opportunity to try any and would would really like the chance to try Escentric 04. California
The other Escentrics are great. I have all of them. Escentric 1 is faintly reminiscent of Light Blue, but much much nicer. Escentric 2 is fantastic. I much prefer Escentric 3 to Molecule 3. Have both of the new ones. I like them both very much. I also wear Molecule 01 religiously. Not so crazy about Molecule 02 or 03 (on my skin).

wow, sandalwood! i love sandalwood. thanks for letting us know what the difference between the molecule and escentric fragrances are, i had never understood. i think it's so unique that you can smell the bare bones version of a fragrance and also how it smells with suitable counterparts - works for people who like it simple and also like a more whole fragrance. i'm in VA :)

I love sandalwood, and was intrigued when I heard of this release. I haven't tried anything from the brand yet, but fully intend to get some samples in the near future. the concept of a single molecule perfume and complimenting fragrance with more notes is appealing. Escentric molecules 04 sounds like it would do good in the Florida heat. .I love sandalwood fragrances and would love to win, ,the uniqueness of this fragrances is the javonal and all the other notes liket grapefruit and castoreum.
Sounds great! I have only Molecule 01 of which I too anosmic but after giving time I can detect and feel comfortable with its smell. Being fond of woody notes would like to try Molecule 04 being the lonely note of Sandalwood. Count me in please.

I'm more interested in the escentric vs the molecule sample, in that, I dont know why one would make fragrances that are actually difficult to pick up. So many of us are after complements, seems the molecule line runs counter to this goal we all have. Anyway, im interested in if my nose can pick it up, ive not smelled any from this house. I do love some sandalwood fragrances (channel egoiste, Santa Royal) both of them are not suitable for everyday wear or for the summer. Molecule 4 seems perfect for that n I'd like to try n hopefully win the samples giveaway.

This line of fragrances are unique b/c of their versatility as you can layer them very easily or wear it on its own. Would be very interested in knowing how Geza was able to use formulated sandalwood note. I live in Maryland.

Molecule 1 was hyped a lot. Molecule 4 sounds best to me.
