Actually in this analogy, God should be the Sun, we get our light from Him. This means that no matter what comes and goes from us, Our light remains constant from God and cannot be taken. Our dependence is fully on God, not anything else not even ourselves. But in saying that, I needed to hear this speech. Thank you.
If this was a non- Christian message, then absolutely it is correct and I would agree, but because he’s making it biblical, what he is saying is half correct. Biblically- Yes you shouldn’t rely on anyone else to give you light, but you should rely on God, not yourself.

This is still so amazing!! I have been married almost 20 years and this by far is the best advise I have ever heard! I was so honored to be in his presence a few times and each time Dr Monroe left me in awe with the amazing God given wisdom that flowed out of him! So very missed but still his legacy lives!

I was single for ten years twice as a Christian. When I met my wife we were both out buying our Christian friends meals and trying to keep believers active and encouraged. Now we mostly thoroughly enjoy each other. We learned this from others and hopefully we have taught others

I feel lonely not because I don’t enjoy my own company but I desire connection, affection and help. I don’t see anything wrong with being needy towards someone you love and I think it’s natural to feel like a part of you is gone if your spouse leaves because the scriptures teach that the two become one flesh.

@@saraht170 I get what your point is saying, but u should feel complete with or without your partner being around, you don’t need someone to be their physically to feel loved, feeling loved should first begin within yourself. If you can’t handle being alone or being by your self then you lack self love and that’s where the feeling of loneliness comes from. I know that feeling because that was me at the start of the year until I really gave my life to Christ and I have never felt like that
