Your grandparent's hometown looks so peaceful, calm, cosy and quiet .. this is the first time I saw a video on portugal's local village and way of life .. although it is brief but very interesting .. thank you for sharing .. i love it so much .. take care and stay safe always ✌💕🐈💕
As a malaccan, the way the roads are narrow and tall walls it doesn't look that foreign. Hahaha. Also I love how all the food are soupy and full of gravy. Nice choice of music made the video seems more rustic.
Hello again Joao & Cristiana! 🖐️ Thank you for such an interesting video of your family. I enjoyed it very much. Joao, you look so much like your grandfather. He looks young. I'm hungry looking at the food. I've tasted portugal food, in a portuguese family in Malacca. I love it. Cristiana seafood rice is also my favourite. Looking forward for your next video. ❤️❤️💕🇲🇾
Yay..... freedom at last....thank you for introducing your grandparents to us. They still look young. Lucy is such a cutie ❤️ 🦮Yes pls, can't wait to see more of Portugal. Cheers,💞
I luv this vlog. It so captures the “real” homey Portugal, even tho I have never seen it, having done the Lisbon and Porto touristy fleeting spin only. Many tx for making this video, & sharing the authentic Portugal.
If u want to see the real Portugal and the real portuguese people u should check more traditional villages,in Porto and Lisbon tourist areas u barely see portuguese people, its all made for tourists
Hi!, Joas and Christiana...for a while didn't follow up you guys video,...but now I'm gonna continue following...I can see your country Portugal is a nice ,peaceful country.kinda loved it.
What a candid and nicely paced vlog about your experience in this lovely country. Greetings from Madeira. We wish you all the very best in your adventures.
Something that I waited for from your 1st touchdown in Portugal - a series of your hometown. What a great place your nan stayed at. Great video as usual! -MY2021
Very interesting that Portuguese love lots of stews and look yummy too. The Portuguese bread that you bought from the bakery, do you eat that with the stew? And Portuguese songs are so romantic.
I miss Portugal!!😭😭 Every year during Natal i went back to celebrate Natal with my in laws.Oh! Yes I love the bread and Galao.. Love Portugese pastries as well..especially bolos de arroz
Lovely video! Very fortunate to have all your grandparents! Weather is looking a bit soso - we had the same in Italy... In fact it was warmer in February than it was April! Stay safe guys!

Hi 👋 guys , glad that you both had done with the quarantine , as usual love the acoustic background 👍🏻 Nice place you have and how lovely is your granny. Hi to your granny and grandpa I’m sure your granny is a great cook too 👍🏻 maybe you could teach us Portugal’s language and also introduction to the food. The rice dish looks amazing something like porridge with tomato base. What a nice feelings to be back home 🥰
My nan cookes incredible food yes the arroz de marisco dish is made with a tomato base. The background music is Fado a Portuguesa genre music. Stay safe and take care 😊✌️
I read somewhere before, there are local people in Portugal who look like / resemble Malay features. They could be descendants of the SE Asia / Malay people that were brought to Portugal during the colonial era.
Sepanjang pengalaman saya di Portugal, susah almost none nak jumpa Melayu di sini.Kalau nampak asian looks tu sebab ada yg punya susur galur dari Goa India.Kulit sawo matang macam Melayu.Portugese orangnya ramah-tamah dan sangat mesra.Makanan nya sgt2 lazat dan kalau nak pedas tambah piri2 je atau jindungo ( sejenis cili oil ) super pedas😄
You won’t regret it if you do. Amazing weather, delicious food, laid back environment… What else is missing? Ah, fantastic people but we are suspects 😂😁😁
Thank you for showing us this daily life in this pretty town. I have been lucky to visit Portugal twice, and enjoyed it so much. The arroz de marisco looked delicious! Muito obrrigado.
So glad the quarantine is over, love the reflection of a typical day in Portugal. You look like your grandpa! Love how colorful the houses are. Wine is from Turkey? That's awesome!
Can see the warmth and bonding over meals with your family after being away for so long..btw it would be great if you guys can do a vlog on Arouca Bridge..stay safe.
Obligato. I went to your country for 2weeks holiday,5 years ago. It is a beautiful country. Please show us more of your country. I love it. I am from Malaysia, following your TH-cam while you were in Malaysia.
So glad to see both of you are safely home. Surely you missed your home town all this while when your travel was restricted. Good too that your quarantine back home is also over. Please show your video on your last day before flying back to Portugal. Pls come back to Malaysia again soon.Bye..

Hello, this is my 1st time watching your videos. Hello from New York in the United States, I really dig the vibe in Portugal. It's getting super expensive here in the states with cost of living and I'm definitely thinking of a lifestyle change. How is the economy there 2 years later when you initially posted this video? Glad to see you you didn't get ill from the virus and looking forward to more of your videos!
Hello hello all the way from Portugal. We are actually from here and we are here at the moment. The economy here is growing, slowly but it is. After covid was really bad but it’s getting better even tho minimum wage is very low and not enough to survive, let’s just say it’s expensive for us (Portuguese) but cheaper for everyone else, specially other European countries and of course the US 😂 We all have a very social lifestyle, most people go our for a coffee everyday more than once, we all go out drinking/ partying every weekend, we all like to eat out often, during summer months esplanades and terraces are always full and we all can afford it somehow. When I say “we” I am generalising tho but it’s pretty common. I’m pretty sure you would love it here, it’s getting more touristy but not to the extreme 😁😁
Good to see a little bit of home family life. Nice Classic bike, 2 stroke, less parts to go wrong but the envirinmetalists don't like the oil smoke. Can't say Ive heard of the brand. Perhaps you can take us on a little tour on the bikes.
I'm excited to see that someday you would share more about Malaysian adventure series with your friends or fellow Portuguese who are not familiar with Malaysia especially Malacca, from how similar the language is to the culture and foods, etc... I know it's cold and mostly dull in Portugal or West Europe, excited to see how's Summer is like over there...

Bachalao Assado is one of my fav dishes when I was working as a head chef in Macau, just live it plain with good olive oil, garlic and potato (was working as a head chef in a Portuguese Hotel). I now eat only plant based but still...if I visit Malaysia, I might break fast eating anything. Take care and stay safe
They is plenty vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Malaysia. When u are here in town u may download the vegetarian restaurant apps to search around. The apps name is GoVeggie Malaysia. It’s contain vegetarian and vegan restaurants for Malaysia and Singapore.
Bacalhau assado simple but delicious, we normally have that during the summer with some grilled bell peppers and tomato salad oh what a treat. Cool you worked in Macau, there's still a strong Portuguese presence over there
@@Travelgramers Yes! the only problem is the currency (pataca) in Macau is worthless once it leaves Macau. Many country do not accept the currency at money changer, have to change to HKdollars before leaving the country. Portuguese cooking uses alot of white wine and tomato base. And Portuguese food is quite salty for my taste. haha! I recalled cooking according to the Malaysian taste (saltiness) when I first took on the job. Got some complain from the boss, came screaming in the kitchen 'Mais sal'.
