There's some American music. Make America Grateful Again.
Probably listened to this album 1000 times.. Never gets old..
It’s amazing. It stays fresh.
One of the BEST BLUE GRASS BANDS EVER !
"Spud" bringing it on that banjo.
I'm so happy this popped up in my feed. I love this! Thank-you ever so much for sharing Jack! 🥰
Thank you David. You gave this album to me in 1976 and I'M still loving you and It. God rest your soul brother.
Why is this album not on any of the streaming services? A landmark collection of music.
The more recent O&ITW albums (on David Grisman’s Acoustic Disc label) are all available on streaming services:
Breakdown
That High Lonesome Sound
Live at the Boarding House (complete shows)
(On Spotify) there’s a curious glitch at the beginning of “Breakdown”: the intro by Peter Rowan is repeated twice
Yip good Ole creek music
The truest musical art form!! Thank you jerry!!
OMG I remember 1972-3, in college and going thru a bluegrass phase. Loved every song, and became a huge bluegrass fan. Thank you for posting this album, and bringing back memories. Went to Nashville April 21 and found a bluegrass band that was so good, they played Knocking on your Door My Darling...perfectly and they had never heard of this album...Thank you soooo much.
I heard this years ago. It still fucking rocks! CRAZY GOOD!
YEAPpiiieee🤠
Dude thank you for posting this. I was looking for this recently and couldn’t find my copy and realized it isn’t on Apple Music either. Tragedy. Best copy on TH-cam. 🙏
Love it!
This is so fantastic to listen to. I grew up in the 70s and my father played in a very traditional Bluegrass band. He had a washtub bass to give you an idea of what I am talking about . They had good intentions, but this album was considered a heresy bluegrass music, regardless, through the years, playing music with my friends and coming along to the sounds of fans like the new grass revival, the new south , Dole Lawson and Toni Rice …. We all naturally embraced this album and all genres of music. Listening to this really took me down memory lane I’m going to festivals in the 70s and growing up in the music up to the 90s a big thumbs up!
There were a few traditional bluegrass artists that took these poor rocker-pickers under their wings. Will the Circle Be Unbroken and Old and in the Way are a testament to their spirit. The list of those invited to the Grand Ol' Opry is surprising.
Wow!!
Yeah boy
This is up there with Flatt and Scruggs, etc.
