Idk, "true" content in retail for me is PvP, M+ and Raiding which are all instanced. Mount farming, pets and playing dress-up isn't really content imo. To be fair, after TWW releases, DF will be the default questing experience for new players and they will have access to follower dungeons from the get go. It kinda makes sense in a long run.
All i do is mythic plus and all dailies in all Df zones that give gold on five. characters. As for that quest chain, I'm not sure which is shorter, that or the Modern Warfare campaign.
Literally the same things which happens with the Baine and the Centaurs quest: Baine arrives and hates the Centaurs, but Centaurs of DF are super cool and progressive, Baine does some stupid stuff, gets saved by the Centaurs, and the he say "ah centaurs are okay in my book" even if untill now everyone hated centaurs, especially Taurens
The follower dungeon grants a gear. As long as the drop aligns with your spec, you can get it. And you may blame me but I feel like this follower tank is way better than actual 'person' tank. It knows when to proceed/stop, how to LOS pull, tells you what to counter mobs (counterspell, CC, etc.) And yes, I've played tank main since the real WotLK 2008. I think this is the best way to learn to pace the group. I feel like they can be a great companions for Mythic 0 dungeons as well. So that people can practice their role and optimize the pulls (for tank) and mana allocation (healer) etc. It's way better than cuddling with bunch of ADHD speedballers and other toxic community.
Here's a theory: He cried about his son so much, that he decided to give everything to his random daughter, so he can go to his son out of depression. O___O
Nixxiom the quest you were talking bout before goign to bel'amath is the nelf heritage armor chain, its not tied to anything dragonflight related and yes you can get gear if you do the follower dungeons, just seems when you did it you werent lucky
Genn asks Tess to lead because he can't bear to partner with Calia Menethil, a forsaken. He trusts her judgement in this matter and lets someone without all his prejudices make the decisions.
I think they didn't have time to get the follower dungeon system ready for the beginning of Dragonflight, and what's more: I think they are trying their best to wrap up Dragonflight as a great first player experience for new beginner players in the future expansions. And from that point, it doesn't really matter when it came out, as long as it's there when new players are going through DF in the future days. :) ❤️ Ps. Good video like always, Nixxiom. :)
It's been so long since I've played retail I feel like I would have to start a brand new character. I got multiple characters to max level in Legion, played from 2005 or so on and off but everything looks so vastly different to how I remember it. I've been playing Season of Discovery but maybe I'll jump into retail every other day to see how it stacks up.
Hey, nice video as always, about the short stoly line in Gilneas, it's shame that they didn't turn it into like smaller raid with nice loot and etc. would have been waaaaay better then short story line where I was wishing to be done and over with.
The reclaiming of Gilneas was such a huge let down. What sucks is Gilneas will still be an empty zone with little to no interaction from the player base.
I know Nixx is more about Classic, I haven't got Drafonflight. I was thinking of getting the pre order for the next expansion since Dragonflight would be included and I would at least level all my characters.
You hit in the topic that has had me upset with retail for awhile. Why is everyone going for love? Put some war in there. They ruined my queen by “fixing” her.
I personally enjoyed the Gilneas cinematics, as for Tess, she is an NPC with small stories and participations here and there divided throughout novels and missions from cata, it is an example of why Blizzard needs an ingame encyclopedia, people she simply loses sight of secondary characters that actually add to the story little by little, among other things she is a rogue of the uncrowns, the rogue faction in Legion.
so all i'm hearing is, blizzard alomost forgot their own statement of "we don't wanna reclaim gilneas in a book or something, no we wanna do it justice and make it an ingame event" and hastily bolted and glued some run of the mill kill 5 mobs and 10 here quests together, forgetting their own ingame quest narrative with the forces pouring in and 2 seconds later dissapearing, and then to top it all off, sticked to their DF esque "woman empowerment and all dudes are either stupid or assholes" guns and made Tessa the queen, because we can't have a single expansion without Dasnoozer not sniffing the ingame panties of some sort of QUEEN? Did i forgot something?
Kind of an L take on Gilneas. I get that Tess is fairly missable depending on how much of the game you consume but Worgen players will definitely know her from the heritage armor questline and in a world of everyone having a million alts, she pretty recognizable from the rogue class hall. Also I suppose the timing of when you did the event colors your experience considering this is very much a one and done event that people did in the first week. When I was there it was a real battle, players everywhere and those elites being ground to dust all around me. I don't even play a dog person aside from having collected their heritage armor and it all seemed fine to me. Oh, at Genn kind of points out he's dropping the reigns of king but is going to still be an important actor in world events now that his homeland is secured.
as a former new player who hopped into WoW the first time during Pre-launch Legion i 100% agree with this, WE HAVE WoW Classic now so they can go mingle there while we get more new stuff added to Retail
I dunno man. I played classic, with little prior knowledge to it because, tbh I didn't get far until late wrath early cata. It felt way better than a lot of things in current wow. Current wow just isn't as appealing to me. That's fine, I'm not the target audience. I also fell off of classic wow eventually. But classic certainly held my attention far longer.
@@arthursebastiany7311 was the lore ever really that great? I'm not asking to disparage wow, I love the setting and many of its stories. But if you look at it under a microscope WoW's in game lore has always been shaky at best.
"They could have turned it into a world PvP zone" And this is what would have happened: Couple people zerg there in week 1 and then retreat once it's no longer complete faceroll.
Im sick and tired of this "waman power" bullshit they keep doing because these writers are litterally forsaking huge / built up male characters, destroying them swiftly for a female to take over, then they do NOTHING with them. Rastakhan and his daughter, Genn and his daughter, Thrall and female thrall, To a degree Vancleef and his daughter, Calia, and several others. Leave the male characters alone, and just focus on improving the already existing female roles as well as the male roles.
Now they got half a year to optimize the follower dungeons. Throwing it into a new release would have ended in a bugged experience. We know blizzard. Good move to release it know i guess.
Na Greymane dying would have been lame, I'd rather he actually grow and not stagnate like he had the last few expansions. He was always just a sad mad angry puppy lol his daughter has been around for a while and maybe a change in leadership is needed.
I'm all for awesome women in the game, but not at the expense of all the male characters. Biggest culprit of this is legion Malfurion... "TYRONDA WHERE ARE YOU!" fucking made him a puss. and he is legendary in the books!
Dragonflight has been near great since 10.2. they've got some stupid things to fix but, it feels good. I couldnt play this xpac early on. Every class i like felt bad 😂
well the point of finishing the dungeon, would be that you actualy knew if u can get anythink :D, its not like 30 mins of dungeon would kill you :D w/e love it anyway
The lore maybe is sucking ass (Hoping Metzen will change that) but the gameplay is actually very fun. I was doing solo arenas and damn, they are addictive. I can spend hours and hours trying to get rating. And i'm sure that M+ and rainding are very enjoyable too.
I like the opinion that world of WARcraft is losing this pure aggression and masculinity. We had badass villians like Lich King, Illidan, damn, even Blackhand in WOD. And also I'm kinda disappointed about how unnecessary lore is right now. Heroes from Warcraft trilogy, vanilla and early expansions or books of this period are losing their personality, events from the past are getting rewrited and not in a good way.
me and a friend tried Follower Dungeons at around level 63 and the trash took sooooo loooooong to kill. First attempt was the dungeon with the centaur people (forget the name of it) but that dungeon was NOT tuned for the NPCs (they just simply got on ground mounts and slowly made their way to the first boss). They then attacked one group of mobs, aggroed a patrol and wiped the whole group. Noped out of that one, then tried the Ruby Life Pools and it took like 15-20 minutes just to clear up to the second lot of mobs in the initial egg area.
Another "MuH FeMalE Boss, slAy QuEEn BS". Look i like Tess, and I absolute ship her with Anduin but cmon Blizzard, you gotta have a build up for these kind of things when handing over power. "Take this kingdom because Im depressed". 10/10 writing, you blizzard diversity hired writers. garbage. Retcon everything after MOP please someone.

You would be shocked. I certainly was. There are, sincerely, numerous people on the official forums that will brain themselves against a wall defending the reclamation of Gilneas that we got. It's a bad questline that turns years of buildup into a lousy wet fart, and serves as the finale to the otherwise excellent Worgen starting zone. Genn's wife chides him for being furious at the presence of the leaders of the faction that facilitated his son and city's destruction, and Genn just cowers pathetically with his tail between his legs to make way for girl power garbage that has no place in what's supposed to be a crowning, glorious moment for the Gilnean people as a whole. And the Horde being there at all, never mind the Forsaken, is just spit in both eyes after the Alliance had to wear a disguise to participate in Lordaeron. It's so terrible I hope they never do anything with it again. I hope the very thought becomes a curse, that whenever the notion crosses any mind in that misbegotten gaggle of lobotomy victims their fingers become too numb to handle a pen or keyboard and their mind fogs over with forgetfulness. Hate doesn't even begin to describe my feelings. It's so much more. Like if the word were upon every particle of my brain inscribed, and each individual cell taken and spaghettified into one impossible strand reaching some million-billion miles into the ether, darkening all from the pearly gates to the burning maw into Hell, that any creature across the known universe with the appropriate sight organs could, merely looking up, see clearly the singular article upon each and every part of me put. Hate. Hate.
The WoW that had 14 million subscribers is dead and gone. What is left is this woke garbage clone of the game we once loved... I still play because I haven't found something to take it's place, so I play WoW and reminisce about the game I used to know and love.
I understand that WoW needs to change in order to progress the story each expansion. But that doesn't mean it needs to change things in such a way that it is dishonest or even disrespectful of the original material. Especially with what Nixxiom is talking about with with the Gilneas storyline and characters. Just feels lazy and dishonest. Which may be indicative of modern WoW's approach to much of the story since Legion, (or even after WotLK if you're more of a classic enjoyer). The past couple expansions stories haven't really felt very Warcraft to me at all. It's ok to team up for the greater good, but ultimately, those team ups don't dismiss the past, nor can I believe that in a world where war is all many characters know, that they would be easy to accept change (ie Greymane). Wdyt?

Way better than getting blamed by a speedballer alt being too slow or kicked out by those no-lifers being not able to catch up with leveling gears.
The MOMENT he said everybody's favourite bad guys I was like "scarlet crusade". The fact its that obvious is hilarious
I thought it would be another round of the old god worshippers, considering the upcoming enemies in the next expansions.
@@BizhanovKhalel two of the most common punching balls
To be fair, after TWW releases, DF will be the default questing experience for new players and they will have access to follower dungeons from the get go. It kinda makes sense in a long run.
That questline was for the Night Elf Heritage Armor and is old, not for the new city.
I have high hopes that the "followers" in the follower dungeons il the War Within will be your war band (aka your alts).. how cool would that be?
Tried flying on dracthyr from moonglade when they got released :D
All i do is mythic plus and all dailies in all Df zones that give gold on five. characters.
As for that quest chain, I'm not sure which is shorter, that or the Modern Warfare campaign.
Literally the same things which happens with the Baine and the Centaurs quest: Baine arrives and hates the Centaurs, but Centaurs of DF are super cool and progressive, Baine does some stupid stuff, gets saved by the Centaurs, and the he say "ah centaurs are okay in my book" even if untill now everyone hated centaurs, especially Taurens
You do get gear in fallower dungeon but it isn't 100% of the time. On my first run I didn't get anything but on the second run I did.
So strong so independent soooo barf.
Remember when in Vanilla we used to go collect random heads for quest turn ins? That was the norm.
Super impressed by the follower dungeons, admits to not finishing the dungeon after the first boss 'because what is the point' XD , great take XD
Here's a theory: He cried about his son so much, that he decided to give everything to his random daughter, so he can go to his son out of depression. O___O
The one thing about Follower Dungeons: No pressure.
Lets talk about the "bad luck protection" ember that drops from fraykk is not 100% so if you have bad luck you cant get bad luck protection...
Nixxiom the quest you were talking bout before goign to bel'amath is the nelf heritage armor chain, its not tied to anything dragonflight related and yes you can get gear if you do the follower dungeons, just seems when you did it you werent lucky
What? Genn still hate forsaken, but he gives the throne to his daughter because everybody else is moving forward except him
Genn asks Tess to lead because he can't bear to partner with Calia Menethil, a forsaken. He trusts her judgement in this matter and lets someone without all his prejudices make the decisions.
you DO get loot from follower dungeons
I agree the gilneas questline was incredibly underwhelming....... 😢
Ps.
Fun part is Tess is not even a Worgen
I think the follower group AI is based on the Island Expendition AI.
The power of friendship pt 2 electric blue bugaloo df has been a mess… ALL muh feelings monologues no action
In 10 years this patch will be part of classic DLC titled: WoW - Denuser's greatest hits
The gilnean questline was bad, but the cutscene was actually pretty cool. And Tess is his only heir, so obviously she's going to inherit the realm.
so all i'm hearing is, blizzard alomost forgot their own statement of "we don't wanna reclaim gilneas in a book or something, no we wanna do it justice and make it an ingame event" and hastily bolted and glued some run of the mill kill 5 mobs and 10 here quests together, forgetting their own ingame quest narrative with the forces pouring in and 2 seconds later dissapearing, and then to top it all off, sticked to their DF esque "woman empowerment and all dudes are either stupid or assholes" guns and made Tessa the queen, because we can't have a single expansion without Dasnoozer not sniffing the ingame panties of some sort of QUEEN?
Did i forgot something?
yes, you forgot the weird, non-gilnean looking mount they bolted on as a final reward, that reeks as if a furry designed it.
Should have included goblins in the Gilneas questline, I always associate the two because of Cata.
Well you shouldnt
@@domuzpipisi Make me not then, if you're so bold.
The Reclamation of Gilneas was the reason i came back. As a Worgen main that started in Cata i had to complete the cycle.
Somehow, Malfurion returned
I don't really respect the opinions of classic players when it comes to retail. They are blinded by nostalgia and a fear of change.
THIS ^^^ change makes them lose their minds.
as a former new player who hopped into WoW the first time during Pre-launch Legion i 100% agree with this, WE HAVE WoW Classic now so they can go mingle there while we get more new stuff added to Retail
I agree with you, but you cant deny that the lore in retail is not going very well
I dunno man.
Captain Garrick is awesome, never let's me down
world of feelings
Very rarely I have gotten gear doing the follower dungeons.
Who is Tess Greymane?
You clearly didn't play rogue class campaign in Legion.
There is a portal to NightElf City Land in Mage Tower in Stormwind.
I don't mind Tess taking over but the quest line/story was wayyyyy too short. February traders post was pretty bad for me, only got like 2 things.
I am still not over of Genn realizing he may had been a dick on the second war.
I hope instead of new zones they just give a reason to go back to the old world updated and pretty
In all fairness, Tess is a member of the Uncrowned. So in a way it makes sense that no one knows her since she is a rogue >.>
And now everyone know her since she is the queen now. yeah so much for being a rouge.
Now they got half a year to optimize the follower dungeons. Throwing it into a new release would have ended in a bugged experience. We know blizzard. Good move to release it know i guess.
@NixxiomOnTH-cam For the Follower Dungeon you need at least 308 ilvl to start and just the beginning of DF then you would be good to go.
As a depressed girl in College, I feel called out LMAO
The summary for me ... There is no more War in World of WARCraft.
Genn couldn’t die in all the ways you said, he had to live being the most beta of males
I just can't get into retail and thats fine. I'm grateful there is classic for myself to play instead.
Hurrdurr no character development allowed is such an odd stance to take, 'how dare you care that your son died'
Loving 10.2.5 m+ is great, tons of old content to run. Its standard.
M+ is stupid in 10.2.5 monsters deal 851K+ damage that is unavoidable so you just die. No wonder there’s no healers.
About follower dung u get gear
sadly its RNG, while i was testing it got 2 pieces of equipment from 2nd and last boss from normal dungeon ILVL pool.
Na Greymane dying would have been lame, I'd rather he actually grow and not stagnate like he had the last few expansions. He was always just a sad mad angry puppy lol his daughter has been around for a while and maybe a change in leadership is needed.
I joined again for 10.2.5 for 2 reasons only. Follower dungeons, and dragonflighting in every zone.
you tell em brother
Wow need to relearn the great quote of Warhammer 40k in the deep dark future there is only war
hilarious, best reviewer yet
Sad state of Blizzard writers sucks
Way better than the slow and borring classic
I'm all for awesome women in the game, but not at the expense of all the male characters. Biggest culprit of this is legion Malfurion... "TYRONDA WHERE ARE YOU!" fucking made him a puss. and he is legendary in the books!
I payed money for Zygor and now I'm perma banned from ever having physical affection from another human being ever again wtf
It took you a year to walk across kalimdor and a few minutes to fly across it
Greymanes daughter is going to be. Andwins future wife. That's why she's important.
No, he is gay.
Follower dungeons so good, couldn't bother to finish a 3 man dungeon, not even for the video...Jesus dude lmao
Dragonflight has been near great since 10.2. they've got some stupid things to fix but, it feels good. I couldnt play this xpac early on. Every class i like felt bad 😂
Good expansion. But the completing campaign from 10.0 until 10.2.5 will take you forever.
well the point of finishing the dungeon, would be that you actualy knew if u can get anythink :D, its not like 30 mins of dungeon would kill you :D w/e love it anyway
I hate some of this shit they are doing I really like dragon flight but I feel like they could have made it better
Don't like the vibe of retail anymore. One word description of it would be "soft".
It’s made for woke babies now
I'm having an unironic blast in retail right now. The story is boring, but the systems are great in my opinion. It's also very busy on my server.
They cut the heart and soul out of this game's universe and replaced it with a vegan soy latte
I think Tess and priest boy should do the naughty
0:00 No.
10/10 writing, you blizzard diversity hired writers. garbage.
Retcon everything after MOP please someone.
bro barely unlocked his dragon flying lmao
exactly, and hes not even using skyward ascend ability right.. i don’t need anyone who plays retail for 1 day to say what’s good or bad when they don’t understand basics..
Gilneas quest proves the new writers have no idea what IP they're working on, or don't care and just want it deleted.
ok sounds like never played warcraft 3. but hey if you don't know even what medivh the last The Last Guardian. not like first time all come together def biger bad guy. and netruler faction from day 1 off wow. i real don't get people go around saying it war craft derfor every 1 need to fight all them time even do you spend time lost life fight the same bad guys. are real gone tell me lore messy. after we just fouget with this guys to kill a guy that would kill all us, next day go muder the people help saved me. beacuse leader is racsisted, would probly go out in strettes say hang our leader. i'am fight his stupied war.
it rolaplay game. so going around say war it all needd bee show A¤ you are get how world works.
At this point you must realise how bad you confirmation bias is
You would be shocked.
Hate.
Hate.
Gotta love that every male leader in this game has to have their character assassinated so they can be replaced by a woman. I’m tired of this bs.
The WoW that had 14 million subscribers is dead and gone.
What is left is this woke garbage clone of the game we once loved...
I still play because I haven't found something to take it's place, so I play WoW and reminisce about the game I used to know and love.
How to train your dragon flight 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can you finally fly in silvermoon? if not well fucking shit
Wdyt?
I liked the Gineas quest line.
