In Classic you have locations with people hanging from a rope, or being impaled on spikes. There's human skin hung to dry, or leather made from humans (IIRC). Like that's some dark shit! And I feel that's missing from Warcraft. Everything has to be PEGI-3 when it used to be at least PEGI-12 or PEGI-16.
Even mists of pandaria the expansion joked about being for kids had things like mantid being impaled (while still alive and moving) yaungol being barbaric warmongers killing everything in sight, the sunwalker tauren expedition where quite a few tauren died (including a baby in the short story)
Well just look at the kara crypts, i loved the theme and mystique behind it despite it being grotesque. It fit the theme of world of warcraft really well and I can't wait to see it implemented into SoD as a raid! SOD HYPE SOD HYPE
As someone who hated the general theme and aesthetic of MoP, I'll admit that moment was badass and the chain pull to axe stab at the end of the convo was chef's kiss peak WoW.
MoP gets too much crap to be honest. The overall theme and aestheric might not have jived with most people, but the story and lore were *awesome* for the most part.
@@alms07yup...devs that want to make gigachad games arent majority anymore...blizzard is now full of employees that seem to like animal crossing type of games more than something that og wow was...and thats what its going to turn into at some point
Even Pandaria had some family aspects (When Chen asked why we fight in the cinematic ) but MoP had better writing and was in general quite brutal especially at the end with the SoO cinematic with Varian warning Vol'jin. That was Warcraft
Exactly, and even then it had genuine good "lessons" from it that wasn't condescending, but wise and powerful. I like when the writing has emotions, it leaves an impact. This however has zero emotions, it feels so empty. And fake.
Mists of Pandaria was blasted by players for being “Kung fu panda” and making a joke out of lore. But the writing was decent, the lore was epic. I thought MOP was amazing. But Blizz should’ve retconned the Pandaren into humanoids of some form, and avoided the shift to more cute animal races and Nickelodeon looking stuff dominating in game scenes. The cartoonish pandaren were the biggest weakness of MOP. The dragonflights were epic and intimidating in vanilla, now they’re soft cartoons for kiddies with the Drakthir which look and sound straight out of Dragontales 🤦♂️
MoP was awesome ToT and SoO brings back memories. Vale of eternal blossoms to Vale of Eternal sorrows ost is timeless like Timeless isle. I learned to tank on my pally back then. I miss the broken Eternal Flame......
I feel like another TH-camr said it pretty well. If after the raid was over, you go all the way back to valdrakken and you’re tasked with seeing the aspects on their rise at the top and you go up there and they have a cinematic similar to this, people wouldn’t mind it nearly as much. But this was the END OF RAID cinematic! Fyrrak never had a chance show his downfall in his cinematic. Crendor compared this to the Arthas cinematic with his father, and like. We WANTED to see fyrrak’s downfall after this. Have the voice actor have a blast and give a maniacal death rattle as he is defeated… we never got that. Instead we got this.
You make such a great point! The players are SICK of this Silicon Valley lecture therapy where EVERY character in the storyline becomes a weak whiny biscuit who needs to talk about their feelings ALL THE TIME. Less huggy feely and more Garrosh calling a sassy elf a biscuit.
Its ok...its setting the stage for Xal'atath to have a emotional outburst and say that she's evil because she never had a loving family. At the end of the saga's last raid , Azeroth herself will manifest to give her a hug and tell her that she can be that loving parent Xal never had. Then, and only then, Xal will join us around the campfire, singing the campfire song.
Then in the third expansion, the Titan Pantheon comes back with a reformed Sargeras and Illidan as best pals, (Pals... I mean boyfriends, its 2023, friendship between guys doesnt exist anymore) ready to join in on the family fun. Maybe they will adopt Malfurion so he can come back from the Shadowlands where he has been shoved in to avoid having him in an Emerald Dream patch for Ysera, whose presence didnt actually matter at the end of the day.
After she kills untold amounts of people. Denuser is such a horrible writer he has characters do a Hitler and just makes it all ok in the end with a nice hug and some forgiveness
Glad you brought up their “aspectral powers.” Felt like Cataclysm’s ending signified that it was now up to us, Azeroth’s heroes, to defend the world. But guess we have to undo that to make way for big mom energy Alexstrasza and her family to protect Azeroth for us with the power of friendship and glowy eyes
"A lot of your playerbase wants a little bit of testosterone put back into World of Warcraft" BASED and also agreed! This ain't a disney movie, we're not learning about the power of friendship here- we're learning about the power of WEAPONS AND SPELLS AND COOL STUFF THAT MAKES THINGS DIE HORRIBLY here
Yes I agree, I’ve played horde for 16 years I don’t want to work with the alliance I want to crush them. I gave up when they made me be the bitch to tyrande and her husband on my orc in legion, it makes no sense
I don't think it even was "testosterone" writing back then (I'm a woman and I enjoyed it was more back then). It was much more emotional and impactful too before, as well as "dark". It was an "adult" writing, now it's as you've said it, childish. It's Disney writing and not the good kind.
Tbh i want them to hire an edgelord to assist with the story writing again so we see more of the dark fantasy aspects that were present in Warcraft 3 and classic WoW. Like bring back the mutilated and/or hanging corpses and depressing mini stories that were all over the plaguelands
We know who the target audience is, look at all the tamed looking armor set, look at the selfie mechanics, look at the way the dragon aspects looks now, look at the next love is in the air cosmetics, look at all the puppy pets we can get. We KNOW what audience they targeting
Exactly. Scalies and furries, apparently. And gays. All kinds of gays. Male, female, everything inbetween. Story? Who needs that these days? Theyre progressive now. They progressed all over storytelling and lore. Its just retcons and dating sim between npcs now.
@@Grivehn Sad thing is they can't even do that part right. Most LGBT people that I've interacted with in video games are totally down for the badass epic stuff. They just want representation but the writers take it upon themselves to lazily copy paste these shit ass flawless morally perfect characters that can do no wrong. People just want interesting, flawed characters, and an epic story/world.
@@Seananigans13I'm not personally down with the gay and trans stuff but if they can wrote a good character I don't care what hole a character like to get into. blizzard has been all but incapable of solid character creation and development for a long time. They just hijack established characters like chromie for virtue points and good press
This is the problem with writting diverse characters that serve as self inserts for the audience. You are not allowed to have them lose and be weaker/ inferior to the bad guys. When your "good guys" aren't allowed to lose, you can't write good villains.
what makes alexstraza a self-insert? this is just poor writing. also lots of series with amazing character/world development the main characters cant lose like One Piece
Diversity isn't the problem here, and I don't really see any of them as self-inserts. The issue people are having with these cinematics come mostly down to the line deliveries and subject matters.
@@ironic_waterdiverse now usually mean all the same thinking woke liberals with different skin color. @@torum6448 You got a point. They need to take the good part of previous expansions and add them in the new ones. Talking about feelings and friendship seems funny in a game based on war... We need blood, darkness & nice lore, things Nixx also mentioned. 🤭
There's no individual, fleshed out characters in Retail WoW lore anymore, it's all just a hivemind, they all do the same thing, they have no individuality, it's really bad.
The individual, different viewpoints still exist in wow. The difference with today's wow is ALL the different characters are painted as the unplayable antagonist's whereas wow of old would paint characters and factions we affiliate with as these characters. It's like Blizzard is too afraid to actually write realistic story telling and want us only to relate to the "good guys".
Exactly true. Everybody who has a personality has an arc. And the arc is losing that personality and becoming a mega bland nobody. I mean look at Thrall. Thrall had a spine, a temper, the will to fight and kill for the right of his people to live. What is he now? Some old grandpa.
I have never agreed more with a video. This. THIS man speaks the TRUTH! WE MADE THE PATH OF GLORY! NOT THE PATH OF FAMILY! (You know, the road the orcs made on Draenor of the skulls and bones of dead draenei.)
I love swtor for the fact that the whole game you're at war with republic or sith, with dialogue options that fuck with the opposing faction ever prevalent, even when they "come together". The feel of consistent conflict is there
@@Coaltergeist Asking for a gift is just greed. Gifts are given, not demanded. That's tribute. And now you tell me that the Aspects owe tribute to the Kaldorei.
Game is not about killing demons its about becoming family with demons. Its not about destroying world destroying beings but becoming a family with world destroying beings. Its not about fighting or pvp, the game is about hugs and kisses, flowers and bees. The sunshine of azeroth world.
Correct. It feels out of place. I liked it for the whole Blue dragonflight story. Because made sense when every single one went their own ways. But for the rest not really. Feels indeed like a a power of friendship instead.
The sad, simple problem with Dragonflight's ending cinematic duo is that, like, just having a cutscene of Amidrassil suddenly materialize into Azeroth with a thunderous shockwave would have been what we wanted and what previous expansions would have shown. And we know that exact thing is exactly what happened, and is basically what the Legion cinematics amounted to: earth shattering moment where suddenly Azeroth changed. It was also one of the best parts of the epilogue that followed the raid.
The thought of the aspectral power being the ability to understand things coupled with alexstrasza saying "Now I understand..." in the end cutscene is just hilarious. Like... funny to think we were spending this whole time... basically trying to raise a group of dragon's I.Q. back to average. We did it, guys. They get it now.
My favorite part of warcraft lore is when arthas returned to lordareon after being corrupted by the frostmourne and he says “oh yeah its family time” and he tells the entirety of lordareon how important family is
I mean, yeah, in this book he feels how old his father looked, how the latest events aged him up, and thought that he wouldn't have to struggle anymore. And when raising his subjects into undead, he thought that they would never betray him and spoke of them with affection... and when they did turn on him (during Frozen Throne) he was legitimately hurt, and only then started to view them as tools (unlike Sylvanas who viewed Forsaken as "arrows in her quiver" from day one). So you could say he viewed them as his family ;p
you put EXACTLY how i feel about the games story direction into perfect words. i'm hoping the majority of people (who actually still play retail) being pissed about this will show blizzard that we don't want this cheesy BS in the game, really crossing my fingers that the world soul saga will bring that epic feeling back into the game.
When a game company prioritizes things other than the quality of the story, this is what you get.. To blizzard, as long as their mythic raids are good in their eyes then the game is good. Oh, but they can’t even do that right because you have to use a potion to even see the spelt effects clearly on your dungeon and raid floors.
Same writers who will be working on the next three expansion by the way. Even if Metzen is back, don't expect the storytelling to drastically change. He can only have so much control over what will happen.
What was that one rule the guard had where you would blast them, only one conscript would die and the rules say "only one model can die lel" I think someone is bound to bail.
You touched on a great point about how they’re watering down things. Like for me I have a gripe with them making a man’ari skin for the Draenei. It ignores 10,000 years of the manari hunting the Draenei across hundreds of worlds all while they did the exact same thing they did to the orcs. The army of light fought then for thousands of years, the illidari sacrificed their very humanity to fight them, but they finally apologized for 10,000 years of intergalactic genocide and enslavement so now they’re the good guys?
Are you actually against having some Man’ari regret joining the Legion in the first place and wanting to make amends for their past misdeeds? How would you go about writing a sympathetic portrayal of an average member of the Burning Legion instead?
@@zacharyarons6950 the thing is, they only turned “sympathetic” when they lost. The legion has been around for 10,000 years, and the Manari where one of the first races corrupted. Uncountable worlds got genocided and eradicated and they never stopped trying until they got beat so thoroughly they could not continue. That’s not a sympathetic bad guy. That’s a bad guy who lost and is just trying to jump ship to save themselves. If Illidan never brought aid the Lightforged on Argus none of the Manari who changed sides would have changed. They would continue destroying planets, corrupting races and eradicating all life in the galaxy.
@@zacharyarons6950 sympathetic demons to me is an oxymoron. They’re a faction created to destroy all life, and then when they succeed they were supposed to self cannibalize so that life could be reborn a new. Fel magic corrupts and destroys everything it touches, warps all life and destroys planets. Nothing about their existence now makes any sense. For as long as Azeroth has had life on it the legion has been wiping planets clean of life. Not just five years, not ten years, not a hundred years. I simply cannot fathom any way to redeem 10,000 of intergalactic genocide and total eradication and enslavement of all life
@@zacharyarons6950 in the old lore the alliance traveled to draenor to stop the horde for that exact same reason. Because they could travel to unknown worlds and kill countless billions of people. But now all those countless billions of lives mean nothing because “oops my bad”
They need to show consequences of war, too. The Horde had outright attempted to commit mass genocide on the Night Elves, killing so many that it might even be comparable to the Scourge slaughtering 90% of the Blood Elves. Do you think the Blood Elves, Tauren and even some of the elder Orcs would have just accepted this? I think there would have been a major schism within the Horde after the burning of Teldrassil. Recalling how the Horde had been on the more fucked up side of conflict in recent history. How about we start having some races going neutral due to these consequences? Same could happen with Alliance races as well, though some more creative writing will be required to make that work.
The horde also genocided the high elves during the 2nd war and that was basically thrown out the window >sure you slaughtered us and burned down half our forest but we'll join you now and help you commit another genocide lol lmao absolute quality
You would think the blood elves would be at least a little reluctant to do that considering the idea of an undead warlord razing an elven civilization to the ground might hit a little close to home for them
@@stepanpytlik4021 you are not the average wow player, but good on ya for jumping into this old game, was it the femboy dragons, fairy transmogs or furries that got you into wow?
FF14s success with having characters express emotions and sympathies has been catastrophic for wows narrative. Its painfully obvious the WoW writers are trying to mimic FF14s style of characters and dialogue but not knowing what made those characters and dialogue great.
I always kind of assumed it was the same powers but used with more ease…like how Nozdormu always said “the timeways are clouded” to him during every patch…something tells me that won’t be a thing anymore lol. Also dragons are not immortal without their powers to my knowledge.
Regular dragons don't have aspect powers and are immortal, same with proto drakes that never even touched titan power. Also stuff like "my powers are slightly more inconvenient to use" are somewhat laughable as a reason for this whole powerup sequence
@@Kishimpl except we watch a blue dragon die of old age who told us he was using artifacts to stop his aging. We also know there is a dragon graveyard that they instinctively go to when they are dying in Dragonblight, implying they are not immortal.
Nozdormu has been saying 'the timeways are clouded' since the goddamn War of the Ancients books. He has always been pretty awful at his job. Its the same BS Yoda has been saying throughout all the prequels when Palpatine was metaphorically standing right in front of them. Unfortunately its lame and lazy writing.
@@KishimplOnly the sspects are immortal and never aging. That's why Alexstrasza and Nozdormu haven't changed in eons while Senegos is a very elderly dragon, and he knew all the aspects from when he was a welp. Senegos has lived a whole life and is near death, and the aspects remain unchanged.
I thought without their powers they no longer had a future as in - the normal dragons of their flight could no longer lay eggs anymore, which made every remaining egg all the more precious to them. As for immortality, none of them were. We killed Malygos and he never gave up his power...remind me, how did Kalec get to be a aspect after Malygos fall? Noz always struggled with his power, heck he got lost multiple times. And the whole reason Murozond existed was because Aman'thul showed Nozdormu how he would die so he wouldn't get drunk on his power which should have been the greatest of them all.
The fact that a Kung Fu Panda reference is unironically much more serious while saying something more insightful regarding the nature of power than the literal ancient demigod dragons of so-called near infinite wisdom is...baffling.
This, would be cool to see tension between them and probably the outburst in new conflict, you don’t just become family 5 years after you fought your last war (genocide included) for new found resource. Even if leaders could make treaties, common folks aren’t supposed to forget things this fast. Sylvanas didn’t burn one of the capitals and didn’t poison the whole Ashenvale alone, how nelfs and worgen can now be “fwiends uwu” with undead?
Never have I been more glad that I did not buy a game expansion and quit the game when I did, they literally did the Friendship is Magic approach and you know what if I want to see that approach taken I'll sit down and watch some MLP, another reason why I GREATLY disliked this is because as a writer I found getting their aspect powers back for seemingly no reason to be incredibly lazy and you essentially undid the damage of Cataclysm I mean I memorized all the dialogue from the Madness of Deathwing finale something Nozdormu said was that "What comes to pass shall never be undone" well guess what looks like it was just undone...I just I cant...
Lorewise is a mess, gameplay wise was one of the bests, good boss encounters. Almost got it perfect, the quote is "What comes to pass *will* never be undone." Even then there are possibilities. -Nozdormu can't possible know all future possibilities, even with his powers things have gone out of his radar so how could he be so sure in that intense moment. it seems more like an expression based on the reality of the situation. -They didn't lose their power, part of them. -They got it back because Azeroth itself is a titan that hadn't blessed them right? and they were not Azeroth guardians, their duty as the dragon aspects was to protect Azeroth and be the guardians. -At the time we were under the impressions that the titans were no more and based on the lore it seems we weren't that aware of Azeroth. Im just adding possibilities, nothing was so set in stone, it was more the interpretation of each.
One of my favorite quests in wotlk is with the forsaken, we’re in the thick of fighting the scourge and getting revenge for our dark lady and we still find the time to poison alliance rations on the beach in their camp. That’s the wow I loved, I don’t want to be friends with the alliance. Even my kids know we don’t play alliance characters in my household lol
If Garrosh was alive he would have turned the isles into a factory wasteland and made mumistrasza his bitch... Also the word family was used so often that even Vin Diesel would cringe.
To be fair, the idea of absolutely decimating Alliance players in PvP as a big burly orc with butterfly wings and a Sailor Moon outfit brings me untold amounts of joy
I think the main problem is not even the family theme as a concept, but the extent of shittiness of its implementation. There are plenty examples of family theme in epic testosterone-filled plots. Brothers fighting together, dying for each other, a son claimbing mountains of challanges and pain to save his old mother from torture, a father defending his family and failing and then being torn by grief and pulled towards the dark side, a bunch of total strangers endure horrifying struggles against all the hostile world and only surviving because they can rely on each other as brothers would, etc, etc. What I'm trying to say is that the basic idea of "family theme" is rather neutral and can be incorporated in any kind of plot without sticking out as embarrasing and fake, like in this case. It just needs proper plot progression leading towards this. It can't be pulled right at the ending out of nowhere. Azure flight had that theme played much better because it was fitting there, and it stayed consistent through their questline. But why is it suddenly pulled across all aspects? There was no bonding of any kind between most of the aspects, they barely talk to each other, sitting in different zones. Sure, they kind of sit up there in their aspect loft in Valdrakken, but it doesn't relate to getting close as a family in any way. They are collegues at best, there to represent interests of their flights, not to hang out with buddies. But I have suspection that this cutscene resulted from some sort of emergency cut on future content and wasn't exactly planned this way. Perhaps because of Metzen return they had to cut it short and slap on top of ending finale what they'd otherwise spread across another content patch or two. If all they were allowed to have is 1 min cutscene, it kida makes sense why would it feel fake.
We have gay npcs. Wokeness. Female empowerment. Feel good moments. Baine no longer hates all centaur. Surprised he and tomul didn't get busy. Adjust your expectations
My theory is that the writers probably knew that this wouldn't be received well, but were trying to undo the colossal fuck up that was the cataclysm ending. I think the aspects' power is immortality itself, not to "grant" immortality, even though they can. What they meant by "age of mortals" is that they themselves were mortal too, I imagine it's probably the same as night elves, they'll die eventually but live super long. Now the writers wrote themselves into a corner with the things that they wanted to do with the dragons and realized "oh shit, they can't really do what we want without some kind of super power."
Then why was Malygos old in Wotlk? When the Aspects gave up the powers in cataclysm? That prooves that they still age, slow as all Dragons. Also the cata cinematic showed them clearly losing their magic like Nozdormus time glas sand running out of his shoulder. Blizz just figured after that "Wait.. we still want to use Dtagons and their flights magic. So we have them all still use it." Or it was simply meaning no longer on the level they onve did. So a Nozdormus zime magic was limited to the levrl of chromie and the rest. Etc. Wich seems the most plausable.
Remember Legion where we had an epic moment after epic moment keeping us hyped 24/7, with stuff like Varian slaying a raid boss solo and dying with the words of "For the alliance!" on his breath? Feels like forever ago now
It is a good plott element, like it was tge blue flights core issue thst everyone did their own thing. So it was a good conclusion for Kalec. But this is a terrible way to conclude the expantion as a whole. Nit to mention the whole Vyranoth just forgets Alextrazas lies and manipulative behavior. Also the whole plott of how the Titabs were wrong to just turn them into Aspects snd change Dragonkind. But they conclude on a TITAN just blessing them again while they say "This was not done by the titans this time." The expantiin itself was decent, and went in the righg direvtion. But crucial plottpoonts such as the titan subplott, ysera just being there to be there, and Vyranoth just fprgetting and being all friendly with Alex after never properly having consequences for Alex past actions.
Honestly, I will always love that warcraft i discovered 18 years ago, a world where everyone fought because their survival was truly depending on it and a world where everyone were making good and bad decisions for solid reasons .
They lost their immortality and the aspects themselves may have been rendered sterile since their lineage came from proto-dragons altered by Titans. Hence all the hullabaloo about a single egg being found. The nearly empty life-pools, the near reverence for new whelps. It's all there in the subtext of the campaign. WIth the aspectral powers restored, the future of dragonkind is secure. That's all
"We thought about they suggestion, and we arrived to the conclusion that having a minimal serious plot where bad thing happen could be offensive for some people and we don't want World of WARcraft to be an hostile environmental.... So we are gonna keep talking about self love, family and the friends we did during the journey.... Or something " I remember when the books written for metzen and this game where full of tragedy and broken people (real broken people, not some dumbas with identity misconception) overcominghis taumas or his past failures to become better. I deeply recommend to read Blood qnd Honor by Chris Metzen, is very short and enjoyable
The fact is the fans of dnd and warhammer, hard fantasy and Tolkien that made up the bulk of staff at blizz during the days of Warcraft have been replaced by a generation raised on Zelda and Pokemon
I also feel like the story really go to the direction of very PC. All of the conflicts we have with all of the factions are non-existent. What next all of the races will be like only under one Banner? former conflicts who took years upon years And now we have the villain of the week Who the two faction need to defeat together again
One of the main gripes I had when I heard of Dragonflight was the fact that the goal was the Dragon Aspects regaining their powers. But as you said, its as if they never lost them. We never saw them struggle with the loss or have any elements in the story involving their loss of power. Looking back it makes sacrificing them so much less dramatic. They could have kept them this whole time and every expansion story since (I suppose up until dragonflight) would have been the same.
Its sad that while the systems of dragonflight have been solid and great overall, the story has been lackluster at best and cringe at worst. I'm really hoping the next expansion takes all of the good changes and gives it a story that feels classically warcraft
I don't even think you need copium for that. DF was always promoted as an "adventure and exploration with dragons" experience. Very straightforward, no bait and switch. TWW already seems drastically different from all of the promotional material so far. I'm gonna assume they're also bring straightforward with it.

Anyone out there that also popped a vein on their head when they saw the Renown Vendor giving you gardening tool cosmetics instead of weapons and actually usable things?
Unfortunately Blizzard hoped in the woke/soy train several expansions ago so we can't have any cool masculine characters anymore bcs it's considered "toxic masculinity"whatever that is suppsed to mean , that's why the game has been so heavily feminized it's "girl power" moments over cool story...let's hope with Metzen back wow story becomes epic again 🙏🏻

World of Hugcraft: Friendship is Magic I can't believe Blizzard actually found a way to make the story of an expansion that is focused on Dragons boring. I didn't think anyone could do it. But Steve Danuser found a way. But also, it turns out all that matters to the narrative team is not that it makes sense, or that we got From Point A to Point C without going to Point B, and that the story is written far worse than most shows on Nick Jr. What matters is they had fun Making it! so it doesn't matter if it is good, they spend way to much time talking about things instead of showing them. Because all that matters is the Friends we made along the way!

The sad, simple problem with Dragonflight's ending cinematic duo is that, like, just having a cutscene of Amidrassil suddenly materialize into Azeroth with a thunderous shockwave would have been what we wanted and what previous expansions would have shown. My favorite part of warcraft lore is when arthas returned to lordareon after being corrupted by the frostmourne and he says “oh yeah its family time” and he tells the entirety of lordareon how important family is
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING MY SON?!"
"Throwing a BBQ..Father!"
You know what? This ending cinematic kinda reminds me of TH-cam rewind 2018 where they talk in front of a campfire.

The fact that a Kung Fu Panda reference is unironically much more serious while saying something more insightful regarding the nature of power than the literal ancient demigod dragons of so-called near infinite wisdom is...baffling.
i know they're going the peacecraft route, but it'd be awesome if they made the horde vs alliance a sort of cold war vibe with proxy wars

Almost got it perfect, the quote is "What comes to pass *will* never be undone."
Even then there are possibilities.

Next step is to replace Epic quality items with Family quality items
The ending cinematic genuinely made me embarrassed to play wow for a split second.
To be fair, the idea of absolutely decimating Alliance players in PvP as a big burly orc with butterfly wings and a Sailor Moon outfit brings me untold amounts of joy
Tasteless
It's just so fucking safe. So boring, cliche, and safe.
They did said in cata ending that they have to look upon world with mortal eyes now so you might have a point.
So we have them all still use it."
Or it was simply meaning no longer on the level they onve did.
Feels like forever ago now
The "family" portion could (and should) be akin to Legolas and Gimli as they become homies throughout the story.
But they conclude on a TITAN just blessing them again while they say "This was not done by the titans this time."
The expantiin itself was decent, and went in the righg direvtion.
That's all
Thank you for bringing back that epic blizzard feeling back for a fleeting moment
Blizz used to be gamers making games for other gamers and now it's suits with degrees in political science and gender studies.... Californiacation
In the Cataclysm cinematic they did say: " See through mortal eyes"...so Im guessing aspectral powers makes them immortal?
yes, more like a kami form japanese concept than a true deity but yes
"We thought about they suggestion, and we arrived to the conclusion that having a minimal serious plot where bad thing happen could be offensive for some people and we don't want World of WARcraft to be an hostile environmental.... So we are gonna keep talking about self love, family and the friends we did during the journey.... Or something "
I remember when the books written for metzen and this game where full of tragedy and broken people (real broken people, not some dumbas with identity misconception) overcominghis taumas or his past failures to become better. I deeply recommend to read Blood qnd Honor by Chris Metzen, is very short and enjoyable
Still doesn't beat the whole "Males can become Sentinels now" storyline in the NE heritage armor quest. That shit damn near made me cancel my account.
What next all of the races will be like only under one Banner? former conflicts who took years upon years And now we have the villain of the week Who the two faction need to defeat together again
this entire xpac feels like the luke warm, stale and slightly stinking piss bottle next to my desk.
I am convinced, and huffing copium, that Dragonflight was the Beach Episode, and The War Within is gonna get brutal once more.
I don't even think you need copium for that. DF was always promoted as an "adventure and exploration with dragons" experience. Very straightforward, no bait and switch. TWW already seems drastically different from all of the promotional material so far. I'm gonna assume they're also bring straightforward with it.
honestly i just dont have any interest in these rainbow-fairy-elf-dragons as characters. they are so unappealing.
But but but the kids and LGBTQIA+ community love it.
I like how yall never change like MOP isnt remembered great now and was attacked for the same thing, also fuck off with that bigot shit too @@Kkirk2010
Even during battle for azeroth, we were lead to bevel it would reignite the war between horde and alliance. Then we proceed to play the entire expansion without encountering them at all
Game is made in California.
Is anyone really surprised in the story and messaging here?
It isn't about a target audience or what epic story players want to see....it's about changing the real world through a video game narrative.
In other words, pandering to a 1% audience.
Haveing Again a War?
I Play the Warccraft Mod in Crusader Kings 3 and this is MY World of Warcraft:
The Horde comes from the Dark Portal and take all the Land under Ironforge and the biggest thread are the Bugs from AQ because they do a Holy War to Stormwind!
Pandaria is Half Bugs Half Mogu and when the Lich King comes his Biggest Enemy are the Goblins with Zepplins.
The Zentaur Kills allmost all Tauren but they find Elune and now they fight with Cenarius the Civil War Against Tyrandes because the Taxes are to High!
And Go´el (Thrall) have the Drunk Trait with 11 and have 7 Kids :D
Don't you remember Thrall's warning? Something dark is coming. Maybe we need their help in the next expansion?
That doesn't mean they have to be lame now
Don't you mean Zoval warning us about "what is to come"?
Wait, it’s ending? WTF did this expansion just launch like five months ago??
i googled big ass tree and its the 7th image on google images.
Does your mom know you're looking up such lewd stuff on Google?
Is the first one in mine 😂
I could smell the cringe on this Xpac before it released. There were plenty of signs. Most of them being of progressive writers.
The ending was shite
Yeah! Why did them female Aspects only get glowy eyes back and not their OG slutmogs?!?
People have no joy lol , like lol yall want WoW to regress instead of evolve, grungy stuff isnt working anymore for it
"Grungy stuff isn't working anymore for it" meanwhile WOTLK classic has triple the playerbase of dragonflight. numbers don't lie, it takes me 16 mins to que for content in DF that takes me 1 min in WOTLK
"she can still go to bed" was the funniest part of the video! lol
Because all that matters is the Friends we made along the way!
the best way to describe the new expansions cinematic in one word is ''Limp''
Not gonna lie man, this video came off as a weird incell rant. Maybe you were trying to be bombastic for effect, but it gave of little dong energy.
