    Thank you for the videos! I've watched a hundred vids for ID.4 and you showed things nobody else has. Great job!

    GREAT tip about how to shut off the climate vents! One thing though ... the pull-down portion of the infotainment menu (VW calls this the "control center") can be set up with the steering wheel heater control. For certain, this is one of the more useful things you can do with that pull-down menu.

      Good tip! Thanks. I don’t use the pull down at all so I didn’t even realize it. Now I actually program the car to auto turn on seat and steering wheel heat on start up if it is “colder outside”. I don’t have control over what does it mean by “colder outside” though.

      @@EVTipsAndTricks Ahh. I just figured out how you program the car to turn on the seat and steering wheel heat on "colder" days. That's in settings on the climate screen. But there are similar settings on the auxiliary climate control screen. That screen is a mystery to me. I get that you use the screen when you want to set a schedule for both charging and heating/cooling ... but you can also use that screen to schedule just heating/cooling (I think). Would love it if you'd devote a video just to that screen. It doesn't seem to be covered in the manual or separately addressed on the web.

    Thanks for the video. I don't have an EV yet but the ID.4 AWD is one of my two top choices.

    I consulted the manual and you can reprogram it by simply holding the latch down at the level you want the hatch to stop at until you hear the tone. Worked fine. Sorry I should have read the directions. Guess I'm a typical guy.

    0:20 The front window switches that double up as the rear window switches at the flick of a button is a brilliant idea. It's the KISS theory in the practice of the highest order. It's simplicity not, complexity. Less is more.
    0:55 Open and close all windows with one switch. Brilliant.

    You never "tap" a button on a VW, that's too easy to be accidental. You touch and hold it for 1 second to activate something on any VW, Audi or Porsche Group car.

    I agree with Kurt, I didn't know about the feature related to opening all 4 windows at the same time nor the voice control features. Very helpful, thank you sir! While I'm here, do you know how to make the rear hatch lid open to its full extent? Mine will open fully only if I manually push it the last 4-6 inches.

    • @EVTipsAndTricks
      @EVTipsAndTricks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe you accidentally programmed it to a lower point? I think there is a way to do that -- program the default level. Let me do some research.

    How to set up parking and D mode while stopping the care ?
    I have a problem with the Parking mode and D mode at the traffic light , always the care going to Parking mode

    • @EVTipsAndTricks

      I am not sure why that is happening. Can you explain more?

    Are you or any reader getting errors on the smaller screen (driver display) that mostly go away when the car is turned off for a few minutes. I got an error indicating driver assist is not working, then a few days ago the airbag light was on and driver/passenger dome light wasn’t working and today the miles remaining was blank with dashes --. All these went away but curious if you have also experienced similar issues and have I done some thing wrong. I also read online some owners are having “electrical system warning”

    • @EVTipsAndTricks
      @EVTipsAndTricks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not as bad as your situations. Errors I get are mostly due to I think sensors being blocked temporary or something and they goes away quickly.

    I also see no problem with having to select rear to operate rear windows, actually how often while driving do you need to put down just a rear window
    I like the all windows at once feature, I like a new vehicle to have some changes otherwise why buy a new car.

    • @EVTipsAndTricks
      @EVTipsAndTricks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I like to "vent" the car by opening opposite corner windows to reduce the wind flow. That's why I like to open/close one of the rear windows.

    What is the sync button for in the climate menu? 🤔

    • @Freecpapadvice

      In my Toyota it keeps the driver and passenger climate control the same as each other and not independent.

      On my 1st Edition some features and functions have malfunctioned with an error displayed on the smaller screen but started working again after I leave the car off for a bit and then turn back on. The driver assisted stopped while driving with on screen error once, then a few days ago the air bag light was on and dome light wouldn’t turn on, then recently the miles remaining was missing with dashes displayed. The car continued to operate and the issues were resolved by simply parking, getting out waiting a couple of minutes and starting the car again. Have you or any readers had such issues.

    Do you drive more in D or B?

    • @EVTipsAndTricks
      @EVTipsAndTricks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I drive in D unless I am in stop and go and want to do pseudo one paddle driving. D vs B is a hotly debate topic, but in summary it has little to do with regen and range - the car will try to regen as much as it can. D vs B is really just what type of control your foot prefers!

    VW has a nasty habit in pushing products on the market, which have not been fully tested/developed yet. Just wait a couple of years and then the EV's from VW will hopefully give less trouble... (and have a lower salesprice!).
