Finished Franklin twice (champion). Marquardt, Okami, and Luter. Finished one of the all-time greats in Hendo. Finished Chael twice. Finished Forrest, former champion. Put Belfort to sleep with a shot we’d never seen before (another all-timer). Proved he had great wrestling and BJJ. Obviously an elite striker. Scary aggression. And would have won the 205 belt if he had gotten an immediate title shot like they do now. Nobody like Anderson. Prime Anderson beats Izzy.
Anderson was always afraid to fight for a TS at light heavy weight. He fought Griffin because he knew he was a limited fighter. More powerful guys like e.g. Rampage would have killed him Most of the guys you mentioned are losers and Franklyn was a very bad champion. His only important victory IMO was against Hendo... and maybe Belfort His most important skill was to charm the fighters to make them fight badly. That was probably Hendo's worst fight

Only caught up with him because he was 38yo, and reaction time is one of the first things to go with age. It's also the reason why people who rely more on strength and athleticism like DC and Romero have longer primes.

I'm so lucky to witness this guy's legendary UFC career... What an absolute beast he was. Unfortunately I also witnessed his eventual downfall. I was a huge GSP fanboy back then, but when I saw how he lost to Weidman, damn it feels like seeing Jesus losing to someone... That's how terrible it felt. Silva has always been superhuman in my eyes, but seeing him transform back into a regular man that day just felt devastating. Speaking of being a GSP fan, too bad his superfight against Silva didn't come to fruition. That is still the biggest what if to me, on who's gonna win between them during the time when the both of them were basically the top 2 fighters of UFC (although tbh I'm leaning more into Silva at that time despite being a GSP fan haha).
His reign is so long that he fought thru different ERAS in UFC, watching the clock change design every so often is so cool to watch considering he’s defending the same title.
Anderson Silva was the greatest middleweight that ever lived. I still get pissed when I see that triangle in the 5th round against Sonnen. He should have became a champion that night, and would have been able to feel like he kept his promise to his father, not that he should ever be ashamed of losing. He gave his best effort, and came so close. It really showed his quality as a fighter, and in my opinion Sonnen is a UFC HOFer. Losses like that are soul crushing when you're dominating such a great fighter for literally 5 rounds straight, and you still fall just short with a single error. That's what separates mma from boxing. It can end at any second in many different ways. That's why I don't judge a fighters record in the mma the same way as in boxing. What really matters in mma is the quality of the fights you are involved in, how well you performed, the determination you show, the level of competition, as well as the fights you win. To win a title at all means so much in mma, let alone successfully defending your title no matter what weight class you're fighting at. The competition is so skilled, and you have to fight the top guys to get anywhere near the top in the UFC. The belts change hands so often that it's something special when a champion has a long title reign no matter what division it is in. Even defending the title one time in mma is a great accomplishment. In a lot of cases, even HOFers fall short of their title hopes in the UFC.
Controversial opinion but idc. He wouldn’t really. Silva fought a lot of idiots who couldn’t strike to save themselves. Adesanya is a prime striker who wouldn’t make the mistakes Silva’s competition made. But the competition has levelled up since Silva’s time
Dude ty for this I love Anderson. I know a lot of plp don't like this dude but man his fights were very entertaining. I would stop what I'm doing just to see something crazy in the ufc. He's a goat no doubt ty Silva for all your crazy fights
@@thealarmclock9307 That's the point. He didn't stick around for a decent amount of time to face championship level fights to get hat "0 losses" status actually tested. @@reedraikes7471 the quality of Andersons opponents was higher across his entire run. He beat Hendo, Belfort, Sonnen x2, Okami, Maia, Griffin (LHW but regardless), Franklin x2..
Undoubtedly.
@@reedraikes7471 Izzy is the most annoying and boring fighter since mayweather
My favorite fighter. The only person to beat Anderson was himself.
Father Time beat him, you cannot stop the ageing process.
Weidman
@@isaacayala5552 Perfect example. He was showing off the first time and his leg broke the second. Neither were a proper showcase of his skill. Prime Silva beats everyone.
@@optimisticcosmic yet had he beat Weidman with his taunting, everyone would have praised him and been saying how elusive he was and how much of a genius and fight IQ he had. He lost legitimately. I loved Anderson but take nothing away from Weidman. He was beaten at his prime and that first lost was his downfall. On top of that, did you see that second fight. Even before the leg break do you think it looked like Anderson was winning any part of that fight? Weidman had his number.
Weidman beat him. That’s a fact
The man is a ninja I loved watching him in his prime
2:40 was a BEAUTIFUL takedown. It flow was so fluid!
In the Chael Sonnen fight, Anderson was in his back most of the fight and losing but he was still able to bust Chael face , it's amazing how still hurt you when he's in defense
And he took a bunch of big shots and didn’t have a mark on him
@@starfox5467 Anderson is a darker skinned male, ofc he wouldn't show marks like a white man. I bet both of them were hurting the next morning and Anderson started to show marks when he looked in the mirror.
fast, fluid, nimble and precise, he looked very natural too in a ped Heavy sport
He literally got popped for peds but it doesn't take away from the greatness all of em were/are doing it
He took PED to recover from a broken leg. He's too old to recover naturally
It's called Steroids.
@@whiteflame24 he only popped because he broke his leg
@Jake McCarty exactly bro, nobody during Andersons run has any evidence that he did anything different than anybody else.
Época que era legal de assistir o UFC. As lutas do Spider eram boas demais!
7 years reigning champ. The next longest is like 2 years. That is crazy! What a GOAT.
🤡
I remember being a 13 14 15 year old kid watching this assassin pick everyone apart. It didnt matter what position you had him in you just knew he would get out of it and finish his opponents. Just the drama of it was amazing to watch. Greatest Middleweight of all time.
What a great time to be alive. These frights were not to be missed. People went freaking crazy.
Rampage would have killed him
Most of the guys you mentioned are losers and Franklyn was a very bad champion. His only important victory IMO was against Hendo... and maybe Belfort
His most important skill was to charm the fighters to make them fight badly. That was probably Hendo's worst fight
@@99Gara99Lol no LHW was touching Silva at the time until Jones came around. He dominated 185 because he could, something MMA fighters don’t do anymore.
It’s crazy how he would play with his food and still dominate them. Of course that tactic caught up with him later in his career, but damn was he fun to watch. His style was one of a kind.
Only caught up with him because he was 38yo, and reaction time is one of the first things to go with age. It's also the reason why people who rely more on strength and athleticism like DC and Romero have longer primes.
Crazy how Chael Sonnen landed more strikes on Silva in their first fight than every other opponent did combined up to that point. Undefeated, undisputed.
He was fighting with a broken rib.. that's why..
This is insanity. Somehow I missed his career, gonna watch all of that during holidays
whats crazy about silva is that opponents do land hits on him, hard ones, and he never gets so much as a mark on his face.. no swelling, no bleeding, nothing.. i mean watch that chael fight, he gets blasted in the face like 200 times and shows no physical damage whatsoever
@Cottonheaded Ninnymuggins... You mean the 54 years old fighter?
Chael’s shots were mostly really light he’s always had pillow fists
Once he left the UFC, I never looked back. Those were the days of greats like Anderson, Hughes and GSP.
The best fighter I've ever seen. Wish he had stopped fighting after 140 year old
Loved watching Anderson Silva. He was an artist. Also- he had this mystic about him that I feel intimidated his opponents in every fight- so they were ?ing themselves. He was just great.
No one did to Dan Henderson what Silva did to him. Anderson Silva had such a finishing abilty, no matter what to me the GOAT.
The cheater Silva was using steroids.

Thanx Man for putting ALL togather
Great video. I appreciate you putting his opponent’s names in there.
Can't wait to see a list of kabobs defenses. That'll be the best 90 second video on TH-cam 👍
Khabib lives in your head rent free.
Someone's butthurt he went 29-0?
Khabib lives rent free in the heads of haters 😂
Nobody's butthurt about kabob. He was a boring fighter who loved gay jitz hugging on the octagon floor. Glad his ilk are dying out now in UFC. Karate is king and always will be.
Thanks for sharing this comp bro... Keep it up ❤
I wanted him to be champ forever, definitely my favorite fighter
chael clearly won both. he didn't tap and the ref was way early on the stoppage, he wasn't even hurt
He tapped on the first one I'm pretty sure
The one true GOAT.
There was nothing like it ever. The most iconic mma reign at the top.
You forgot his first UFC match with Leben, a vicious KO
That was not one of his title defenses.

I think it is a good thing to have a great competitive rivalry with someone, I believe it really helps your legacy. Like he had Chael Sonnen or Jon Jones with DC and Anderson Gustafson, etc.
Anderson Ligma
The absolute GOAT. Greatest fighter ive ever seen.
Anderson was like the Ali of MMA, I bet he sparred like crazy to get his reflexes so good and that became his eventual downfall.
He quit taking steroids was his downfall
His reign is so long that he fought thru different ERAS in UFC, watching the clock change design every so often is so cool to watch considering he’s defending the same title.
Anderson Silva, the original UFC sniper.
That sweep he pulled on marquart was so amazing
That first beating he threw on a very menacing Leben was like woah who TF is this guy. Made him look like a heavy bag in the gym.
No doubt prime Anderson will bully prime adesanya
Controversial opinion but idc. He wouldn’t really. Silva fought a lot of idiots who couldn’t strike to save themselves. Adesanya is a prime striker who wouldn’t make the mistakes Silva’s competition made. But the competition has levelled up since Silva’s time
I mean their fight kinda proves that, an old way past prime Silva was stil able to do pretty decent against contender Izzy
He reign was glorious
Chael may have lost the fight but he beat the shit out of him.
#Al thought all time Silva Fan
That tends to happen when your a science experiment fighting a clean Athlete.
I don't know man. Look at his face after the fight. It's a bloody mess. Silva's face looks like baby's ass...
17 to 1 test ratio. He was juiced to the gills fighting a clean fighter.
Unbelievable. One of the greatest of all time. The way he makes Sonnen quit! A thing of beauty.
He came so close to beating sonnen.
Lol..
Dude ty for this I love Anderson. I know a lot of plp don't like this dude but man his fights were very entertaining. I would stop what I'm doing just to see something crazy in the ufc. He's a goat no doubt ty Silva for all your crazy fights
Khabib's video would have been 3 min long
"Hold n squeeze" kabib
But his losses video would be 0 minutes long
Never failed a drug test though
@@thealarmclock9307 That's the point. He didn't stick around for a decent amount of time to face championship level fights to get hat "0 losses" status actually tested. Some other had more UFC title fight wins than Kabib's total wins in UFC. 0 losses means something when you stay around long enough and fight with real competition long enough. I also have zero losses in UFC
@@DairyOfAMilkmanthis is such a stupid comment. Who was he meant to fight? He faced the best competition that was across from him and he stepped away when he felt it was appropriate. Who was meant to test him? Who would have legitimately posed a threat?
Prime silva took dmg soo well compared to his last career bouts after his leg break
