Unlike St Andrews when Rory had the lead this course was set up more difficult. Rory only needed pars. Great win hopefully he can win a few times this year. He won twice last year but this year the signs are that he might win more than two times.
To my knowledge the Old Course is never “set up” unlike other courses. It is a public course that plays the same way day in day out, depending on the weather of course.
What the hell was that hard directional shift on the second hole?? You would think that at this level of play, the grounds management would have everyone’s nose in those greens making damn sure there weren’t any invisible surprises. If you stop the video just before it shifts quickly left, you can see a ring around a circle depression that’s about a foot and a half across. Definitely from a piece of equipment or heavyish object placed on that green. You can clearly see how the ball falls into that angled downward and in rim of that perfect circle. I’d be a big pissed off man baby about that, lol. 😤😫 Looked like Rory actually a perfect line there. ⛳️🧐⛳️

He sure did! I think he did it yesterday as well. With a putter there is the risk of it getting hung up in the rough and getting grass between the balland putter face. The wedge can slide over the grass and contact will be solid 🙂
Mental errors are better than swing errors. And the mental errors he made are just rusty tournament decisions, emotions over practical decisions, very easily sorted with more tournament play, even losing right now would be good for Rory, that's how well he is playing.
