- Long ago, the fastest bike in Brooklyn roamed the streets. For years it have been In deep slumber. Now resurrected, its back for more and Second Stroke is gonna make it better... maybe fastest moped in the world

Watching your vids makes me itchin' to do some wrenchin' on my mopeds. Got a Tomos and a Motobecane. Tomos still runs, but the motobecane needs a new carb. Oh the memories.
I have a 77 puch 50cc motor it's missing expip it's all there motor is free it's spins I don't know if I can get it going or not can't find any body to work on it do you think of some one I live in Modesto ca

I hope they do. Last time I was in Paris (2 years ago) I didn’t see any mopeds, only scooters. The first time I was in Paris (12 years ago) I saw Mopeds for the first time! And I bought one the 1st day I got back to the States.

Mopeds would dominanate here if the government would ever allow them to be sold again.
It was very difficult to get a sense of the bike's speed or performance, or character, with the background music playing when you started the bike and ran it. If i can make a recommendation, i would only use background music in the parts of the videos containing mundane tasks........i wanna hear the moped.

I’ll get better shots in the next video. The bike was too shaky to get near top speed anyway.
Moped Problems you could leave a camera on the ground, and do some launches from a stop, i find that helps to see how hard a bike leaves from a camera's perspective. Gopro works too!

My parents have a house in France and the kids out there have some really fast mopeds and a big youth moped culture which fascinates me and everytime I'm over in France. So good to see what you do at shop and that 2 stroke is still going.

Hahaha, 0:27 old Dutch moped Batavus, nice to see them in the States, and the Peugot 103 was my first moped when i was 16, got it for free of my neighbor.

Just picked up a titled 1978 Peugeot 103 at an auction this past weekend it looked beautiful! Has just under 1000 miles on it! Cant wait 2 get her running! Great vid!

use a spacer between the engineblock and the cylinder ( 2mm) and plane the cylinderhead down by 2mm
I’ve done that in the past with this kit. Doesn’t help any, if anything prevents the transfers from opening up all the way

I remember those peugeots from france in the 80's with my parents on holidays overtaking us with our caravan.. They were fast, really fast. Like 90 kph fast without all the bells and whistles..

SUP Moped Problems ? Yeah back in the late 70's me and a few friends had Peugeot's 103's, but we upgraded them with Sport front ends, and a small off road motorcycle tire in the back, plus we layed down the rear shocks, which were off a motorcycle also. We had our cylinders ported and polished, but we never thought of putting a larger jug and piston in them, although we knew about downshifting, pushing the clutch forward, and making them sound like we were shifting gears. We had a lot of fun with our Mopeds, we went everywhere on them, Hell I was only 16 back then, I'm 55 now. I'm going to show ur video to one of my friends I still keep in touch with that was part of our gang. Yeah they were the SHIT back then, with our anodized blue paint we put on our rims, our Peds were a sight to behold. Yeah our Peds used to do 55 mph. Well Moped Problems keep the videos coming, I like what I saw.Take care Brother and hope to see another video soon.

i love these old mopeds i have a puch from 1986 all custom build (see my channel) and a vespa ciao from 1982.. peugeot 103 was one of the first mopeds i owned.. love them

Makes me want to pull out my 1980 Peugeot 102sp. I read once that Peugeots were the Rolls Royce of mopeds back in the day.
Peugeot’s are fantastic. Of the belt driven mopeds, the most fun. Very customizable and very very fast.

@@jacobstlouis1644 I paid £370 most likely spent a couple of hundred fixing it and the most I have seen them sell for at the moment is around £1200 in really good condition but this is changing by the month as demand is becoming high for 70's French mopeds

Hi. Help me out on something.... I just can't figure out why my moped won't run. It will at the best idle for 10 or so seconds and die....this is after really trying.
I've noticed it floods fuel into the chambers as it drips through the exhaust pipe. It is a Peugot 102. Kindly advice.
I changed the carburetor but still same problem.
What kind of carburetor did you change to? They make a Dellorto SHA upgrade with an Peugeot intake. It’s straightforward and solves a lot of problems. The original Gurtner carburetor is problematic.

They do great up hills. Off road not so much. But if you upgrade the tires and suspension it would be… better

Love the channel. Any update on this bike? Cant find a follow up. I live overseas, just bought a super cheap 103 beater. Hard to find useful info in English. Most websites and videos are not in English. Lots of 103s around here... but same problem.... cant communicate if I have a question. It's really hard to translate technical questions. Google translate does not do a good job with mechanical parts.

That’s a good idea. I’ve put hundreds of miles on mine and it’s rattled to bits. Got to replace the main bushing and both guides.
@@MopedProblems There are no good videos on how to overhaul a variator or how to dissasemble the plastic pulley and lubing it. Actually there are hardly any repair or restoration videos of peugeot mopeds just a ton of puch mopeds videos, whats up with that?
