And Steve has a lot of nerve slighting this man’s name, and especially in the public eye. He had the nerve to say he’s a “buck-dancer” simultaneously talking down on another that resembles him and his background. If that’s not an example of buck-dancing I don’t know what is.
Some people let their ego have too much entitlement over their humility.

IMO he was early to the party, just because you hold a person accountable doesn’t mean you are hating. Pres Obama was a great representation but its nothing wrong with demanding better. We as AA often times elect these people and don’t hold them accountable whereas other culture make sure their needs are met. We have to make sure we are not taken for granted and our voices and issues are heard and addressed. That’s how you make change. I hate seeing our black voices tearing each other down on a national scale like this. There is room for everyone! Glad Mr. Smiley is letting his voice be heard because he and other faceted a lot of backlash when they had such good intentions. We are stronger together then divided.

I can appreciate Tavis’s skill as an orator but I watched all his interviews on Vlad and I’m wondering why wasn’t there a discussion about his allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment which resulted in his firing from PBS for violating a morality clause in his contract. PBS sued him and he was ordered to pay over 2 million dollars. He was also terminated from BET and NPR/PRI. Just like Steve Harvey, Tavis and other influential Black men are put on a pedestal but when it’s time to talk about their controversies it’s overlooked. In my opinion I find that hypercritical.
