- Sumanee Gunakasem สุมณี คุณะเกษม, 87, is a Thai Billionaire heiress to a land empire. The daughter and eventual wife of diplomats, she has been a billionaire since birth. As the wife of a foreign minister, she spent decades hosting the most elite people in the world, welcoming them with decadence.
She grows her fortune by buying some of the world's most expensive and timeless treasures, which she keeps in her Bangkok mansion. We spoke in Ayutthaya, Thailand, on June 12, 2024, about her life to date, her fortune, and her plan to live forever with artificial intelligence.

The interview doesn’t give off respectful vibes; it feels more like jealousy. These questions and attitudes reveal it all. Billionaire Barbie seems to be more humble than him, with his head held higher than the actual billionaire’s.

@@writingbymatt I did not misread. I’m just telling you what I felt. She seemed uncomfortable with your questions. By the way, your questions were not really useful anyway. Why would she want to become poor if she was born like that? It’s not her fault. Thankfully, she answered very cleverly that she is a common person. Your attitude seemed to be that she is rich and must be stupid. You tried to make her look stupid by questioning if she knows how to invest or how to make money.

สัมภาษณ์ส่วนใหญ่ ก็แค่มาโชความรวย
(นั้นก็ไร้ประโยชน์เหมือนกัน)

ท่านช่วยคนจนอยู่นะครับ ท่านมีมูลนิธิมณีมณฑ์ชา มีแจกข้าวของเครื่องใช้ให้คนยากไร้อยู้เนืองๆ อีกทั้งบริจาคเงินให้กับมูลนิธิอื่นๆทีนึงก็ร่วมๆสิบล้านนะครับ

In a world where people are starving to death, there’s nothing wrong with questioning ultra wealth. If you want to see people ask her questions about her lavish lifestyle, there’s a lot of that online.
@@writingbymatt you can do it in a more articulated and sophisticated way. How you asked her is beyond unpolished. It is terrible actually and it doesn’t has a good taste at all. More homework should be have been done to bring out gists of those you interviewed.

She is definitely an intelligent woman and someone who has lived an incredibly interesting life. I also get the impression under all that, she is a bit lonely and shy.

I think it might be better to present the questions to her before the interview. That way she can be more prepared with the answers. I felt some questions require deep answers, but she’s limited by how much she can express and verbalize (and some might be due to her lack of interest on the subject 🤔)
She had the questions ahead of time. She’s used to being asked the same things, for years.
I wish when I was at her age. I still could have a long conversation in English. 😊
