Super helpful and totally agree with your advice, especially on the importance of relating academic terminology/theories to your passion in the subject! ;)

hey! im planning to apply to the course of Accounting and Finance at LSE. My fain focus is on Accounting and I get sort of confused as to what exactly Finance will entail. I've looked through the course on the website yet I'm still not too sure. Since you're doing the course what exactly do you do learn when it comes to Finance specifically?

I am currently writing my personal statement for a+f. Do you think mentioning subject terminology would help my personal statement? Also for the books would you recommend reading the whole book or mentioning a specific part which interests me?

    • @AddittiAgrawal

hey! i think terminology is good but not too much because it’s about you more than anything else. in terms of the book thing, either is fine it’s just whatever flows better for your statement
i’m running a personal statement checking service btw so let me know if you are interested!

yep some of my friends from Malaysia and India did and they said it definitely helped! But if you’re in the UK, be careful because it may be considered as a ‘soft’ subject, as may Business. Look up ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ subjects if you’re unsure of what they are :)
