These details take many many years to learn. Thank you for sharing I use much if this video on how I treat my hotrods. This should be a class on how to properly treat a high performance machine. Priceless stuff here and not many views. Makes you wonder why the public at large knows very little in this area.
Fabulous! Really enjoyed it!! Understand this was done in 2017 and Chevron and Texaco have merged thus it's now the same gas and with Techron of course.
So, let me see if I got it right: It is not okay to rev the engine above 3,000 RPM before it reaches temperature, but it is okay to turn the car on and off several times before it does. That certainly makes total sense.
No disrespect is meant but you are driving it a tiny bit incorrectly i.e. you don't need to put her in the first gear when you slow down since it's not the second gear but the first gear instead. It's not like on a conventional car, it's like an old racing H-manual which is no longer used in racing (faster manual sequential gearboxes are used now). And you don't need to use the g gear all the time when you start. IMHO you may start from the first gear. It's meant for fast shifting, not for starting from the g-gear. Such an irony for this car to start her from the g gear or revving her up only on the g-gear. It's not really revving up 5000 rpm in g-gear but... Again, no disrespect is meant. I giving this video a like. Your knowledge of and interest in this old sports car commends a lot of respect.
We have the original Blaupunkt it just isn't installed. The one fitted has bluetooth capabilities. Which helps us keep our hands on the wheel. And with this car you need both hands on the wheel at all times.
Appreciate the reply guys, thanks for that... I can picture the Blaupunkt, but I appreciate what you're saying. Still one of my all time favourite cars, awesome, and great to hear all the info and see it being properly used.
That was chaos when the stereo attempted to exit the vehicle. Such irony to have a 2+ million dollar car with a blue light special head unit from K mart. I do love the 959 and great video though!

A truly amazing and very under appreciated machine.
Great video! Such an iconic car from the good old past.
Tony, Great video sir! Deffently make more when you have time.
This car was removed by the owner and taken to EPE in Natick, MA for proper repair. Three years at Callas, what a mess.

amazing! A wealth of knowledge
Now that is customer service!
Tony has forgotten more then most will ever know.
The cams and crank were $40K. As soon as he said that I began to soil my pants. LOL WOW.
Why didn't the owner send this car to Porsche Classic?
What a great car but so demanding in relation to it's quirks. I would fail managing this car. For better or worse, I can only manage the modern cars.

Needs a period head unit.... even the head unit feels guilty and tries to end it.....

Im a local to Tony, mark my words I'm going to get a porsche and go on a ride with him one day.
Broke the trip meter gears on my ‘87 Audi 5000 Turbo because I inadvertently reset it while I was moving...so it’s a real thing.. 👎👎😢
