People say certain coins are worth a lot of money. Yet you will never find anyone to pay even half of the said value. So I dont believe they are worth anything over a few dollars, if that.
I have mint sets from 1959 (my birth), 1960 (sisters birth, now passed), 1964 (brothers birth, he didn't want it). Now I'll have to dig them out and look closer.
I have the 1964 1- sleeve and I have 2- sleeves from 1965 with envelopes and paperwork. I’m brand new to collecting what should me my next step do I send off to be graded or is there something else I’m missing please and thank you
@@todddonovan971We don't value coins, we just make videos. Not sure what is a sleeve is? Is it the coins in celophane? If it is I'm not sure you want to spend $30-$40 dollars each per coin grading them when they might be worth $20-$30 for all the coins. Why don't you look on EBay to see what the sets you have are selling for. If they are selling for an amount in the hundreds then maybe you bring them to a coin dealer near you and ask them what they about the value? Good Luck
They made them for the public in 65,66,67. The ones dated 1964 were the experimental ones made in Philadelphia instead of San Francisco. They were not even know to exist anymore until they sold the Ave Adams estate in the 1990s. Most people will never get the opportunity to purchase a 1964 SMS nickel even if they have 35k to spend on one.
@@shawnsmith9512there's a lot of incorrect info out there I've seen people think they hit the lottery because they just didn't research enough, I'm never the one to break the bad news to them lol
I always come across the standard release 1964 nickel. Not the one from a special set but your basic run of the mill nickel. From what I remember they produced something like 3 billion of them. I think it might be the highest mintage year. Course I stopped collecting coins like 10 years ago so I could be wrong
1942 had bith the silver nickels and the non silvers. If it has a mint mark above the dome on the back it is silver. If not a mint mark there it is regular.
I have 2 19 64 Jefferson Nichols. One moment mark 1AD are they actually worth money? Please advise, let me know. I also have quarters from the 80s that are filled in d's and p's. And the word liberty is close to the rim. Are they actually worth money?

@@DCCoinWorld Thank you for REPLYING. So how can I determine whether I have" the best one ever made" and if it is worth to send to certify it because I don't want to waste my money, I want to make money🤔🤔🤔
I have the same set in the envelope that you're showing. The blue tag indicating special mint set.
A true mystery. Great video!
Great info… I’m just starting and it’s so much to learn 🤦♀️
How do you find the people that wants them
You have it so someone did
You send it to a reliable coin auction house and, if lucky, there will be a lot of interest in it and fierce bidding.
@rvnmedic1968 good information
Very cool thank you

Must send for Certification and auction than you will now these coins are worth especially with some errors in the coins tested by PCGS

So if I have a mint set 🤔 from this date in original case I should be okay, I have from 1957 to 2000 sets in original case.
The 1964 mint set is a great set because of the silver half, quarter and dime! Valuable but not off the charts.

Where do we have them appraised & sold?
How do you know the coin is from the mint set? If circulated might not have such luster. Check by weight?
I found a 1962 D penny yesterday red brown excellent condition

That would be one of the 35% silver nickels struck from 1943 through 1945. They command a small premium because of the silver content.
