Ri dan As I said, you need to read what Winstanley's actual proposals were. He believed that all exploitation and domination of one person by another sprang from our use of money, tokens that stand for the goods and services that everybody needs. Get rid of money and the whole idea of ownership, either of people or things, and you could have a free acquisition economy in which all people were truly equal. The riches of the world belong to all, and all should cooperate in the filling of humanity's needs. It was far more radical than Marxist communism and he also intended it to grow from the bottom up, without violence or coercion. He wanted to lead by example, small communes first, then when others saw how good it was they would follow. Yes Winstanley was a Christian but his social theories didn't depend on that. They sprang from a perfectly practical vision of a human Utopia. Not at all the same tune and Billy Bragg sang Leon Rosselson's song, "The World Turned Upside Down" on the same theme which Rosselson was inspired to write after having read Christopher Hill's book about the English revolution. th-cam.com/video/YwQwA_kFxoE/w-d-xo.html

....Gathering people who wants to be a part of building a network of stable, fully self sustaining and self sufficient communities (a.k.a. life-boats for the coming environmental collapse). Peaceful communities that are built upon foundation of : love, spirituality, mercy, generosity, tolerance, intelligent, and wisdom. If you are interested in becoming a part of this grass root efforts, We encourage your reply. This Community ARK Project is looking for peaceful, patience, humble, and kind-hearted people who are awaken and aware of the coming environmental collapse; who want to roll up their sleeves and participate in preparatory efforts. One cannot pull someone out of a raging river standing on a muddy slippery slope. In order to pull someone out of the river, one must stand on a firm solid foundation. A fully self-sufficient community is that solid foundation, upon which we stand in order to rescue other less fortunate who will be affected by the collapsing environment. If people are struggling to survive as the environment collapses, how can they help others? People need fully self-sufficient communities to shelter and nourish them, in order for them to reach out and help others. We are gathering people from all spectrum of professional background: engineers, scientists, architects, biologists, farmers, doctors, nurses, artists, etc. Both skilled and unskilled people. Those with knowledge will teach those who lack them. Those not in the know will listen and learn so they might in turn teach others in the community. We have spent 6 years researching technology that were designed to allow Mars colonies to thrive in a desolate environment. We are now planning on using those very same technology to prepare people for the coming environmental collapse. If you are interested in helping out, we could use the help to reach the ears of people who are awaken through social media, or you can read our blog titled "Generalized Plan of Actions" for a list of tasks you can volunteer for. (Note: this is a gathering process and NOT a recruitment process. When one recruit, one is trying to convince others to join a cause; well, someone else can always come along and convince people to join a different cause. But when one gather, one is speaking to those of like mind who do not need convincing; in their hearts and in their thoughts, they recognize the catastrophe that lay ahead if our modern societies continue on their current path of promoting competition, strife, ignorance and scarcity. This Community ARK Project is lighting a beacon so that those with similar mind set will know that they are not alone in their thoughts and impulses; that there are others like them out there who desire to come together to pool our effort in order to EXTRACT ourselves and place ourselves on a different path. One that promote cooperation, harmony, foresight, and a nurturing environment.)
as far as I understand that was going on despite them.. these movements were in the midst of the turmoil not for or against it.. beyond. reaching past it.. this is why people fucked off and went across the oceans!

And hath blinded both their eyes
Stand up now, stand up now
The clergy they come in stand up now, stand up now
The clergy they come in stand up now
The clergy they come in and say it is a sin
That we should now begin our freedom for to win
Stand up now diggers all
'Gainst lawyers and 'gainst priests stand up now stand up now
'Gainst lawyers and 'gainst priests stand up now
For tyrants they are both, even flat against their oath
To grant us they are loathe free meat and drink and cloth
Stand up now diggers all
The club is all their law, stand up now stand up now
The club is all their law, stand up now
The club is all their law, to keep all men in awe
That they no vision saw to maintain such a law
Stand up now diggers all
It is "seeing cavaliers by name". And you could've just google the source instead of some shitty lyrics website.
@jokrol324
no, yes, sort of
communist; maybe
Marxist; no
the diggers creed is 350years old and still a valid critique of the relationship between the rich and the poor
That's the Ye Jacobites By Name's rhythm isn't it ? :D
This is the orignal
Yea, it is the same melody but this song is older.
@@Dom-fx4kt Its a popular tune that is older than both songs. Other songs in the same family are "Sam Hall," "Captain Kidd" and "Froggy went a-courtin'"
YES IKNOW this is the ENGLISH BUT STILL can still FEEL THEIR PAIN. WE r all GOD'S CHILDREN
billy bragg has one same tune the thatcherites
Not at all the same tune and Billy Bragg sang Leon Rosselson's song, "The World Turned Upside Down" on the same theme which Rosselson was inspired to write after having read Christopher Hill's book about the English revolution. th-cam.com/video/YwQwA_kFxoE/w-d-xo.html
it really is the same tune the melody varies slightly but the harmonics are the same--loved Hill's book :)
That song is written to the tune of the classical Scottish folk song "Ye Jacobites by name", written by Robert Burns. While the tunes are somewhat similar, they are certainly not the same.
THEME OF 2020 LETS FUCKING GOOOOO

No king, no religion!
I wouldn't go that far.
Woah bro, the diggers were radical Protestants
A lot of people who believed in this stuff were puritans.

@@axelhalbardier8874 Are you asking me to change? I'm saying it's weird to comment this on a religious peasant song.
So apt now.

This reminds me old times of Minecraft :)
Brilliant
What is the connection between this song and Ye Jacobites by name?
yes its the same tune, called 'Captain Kidd' I think. It seems to have been much used over the years especially for protest songs. Also adapted for the hymn tune 'Wondrous Love'. Its a very powerful simple melody.

....Gathering people who wants to be a part of building a network of stable, fully self sustaining and self sufficient communities (a.k.a. life-boats for the coming environmental collapse).
+Community ARK Project Not my thing but good luck to all of you. Long may we live in a free country
+Community ARK Project I wish you well too

As a geolibertarian, I approve of this message.
Why can't people just enjoy a song without argueing about random crap c'mon whats ups with that
Love it, but they ripped off the corries "ye Jacobites by name "
I think this song came first
Ye Jacobites by name is a Rabbie burns song.
@@soxmaster chumbawumba didn't rip off anyone, they didn't write the song. a lot of old folk songs like this one use an existing melody, so the two songs just happen to share the same tune.
@@soxmaster The poem the song was based on was written in the 17th century and then published in the late 19th century. Both this song and Ye Jacobites by Name share their melody with an older song "The Ballad of Captain Kidd"
This predates the Jacobites.
sadly the english working class turned out to be xenophobes and racists more worried about skin colour than class unity. can't say they don't deserve to be a minority by 2050
Using race and culture to divide and frustrate the working class is a perfect tactic of the rich.
