    Here are some quick suggestions:
    1. Fire starting capability besides flares. Electric lighter, Bic, etc.
    2. A singled walled, stainless steel water container.
    3. Headlamp.
    4. Compressed toilet paper.
    5. Portable battery charger for phone.
    6. Food - freeze dried and/or bars.
    7. Gloves
    8. Duct tape instead of electrical tape.
    9. Hat (a skull cap or baseball cap depending on the time of year).
    10. Laminated copies of ID, gun license, passport.
    11. Laminated copy of important phone numbers. Friends, family, work, lawyer, etc.
    12. Medicine for stomach, pain, and cuts. Eye wash medicine.
    13. Reflective vest or reflective tape. You will probably be walking along roads. You want to make sure nobody hits you while walking during low visibility.
    14. Small binoculars.
    15. Smaller dollar bills and maybe coins for old vending machines and phone booths.
    16. Laminated map of area.

Well number 13 is not that good idea, because someone might actually want to hit him, to steal his gear perhaps. Number 5 also should be only if its SOLAR, otherwise not worth it. Grid will down and never come back up. Have spare batteries is better, unless you can have solar power...

1, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 16 at the least add these. Its a good bob but worth adding these items

I recommend you pouches from 5.11 6x6 or 6x10 to keep you more organized. Also, I recommend that you establish "first line gear" - everything that touches your body: Gun, extra magazine, knife, flash-light. everything else you can pack into pouches and redistribute through your backpack. And the last but not least thing: make a med-pouch easily accessible and loaded with multiple stuff from trauma kits to minor problems. Designate your med kit with patch or use different color so it can be easily reconaziable by you or others. Last thing - use small box-like from altimos or something similar to put fire kit (,matches, ferro rod, lighter.

I've found that a small fly fishing case is able to hold a compression bandage, quikclot z-fold, chest seals, aspirin, matches, nitrile gloves etc. And fits within a jacket pocket or cargo pants pocket. I tried using a soft case, but the medical packages will eventually get little leaks and would no longer be sterile. Tourniquet has to travel in other pocket, due to size.

Good advice/instruction. Yeah, I need to put together a bag. I live in Nebraska, and always a possibility of tornado or flash flooding. Thanks!🇺🇸👍

I’d recommend more ways to make fire other than just flares. a water bottle preferably stainless steel so when you drink it all you can boil water you find to purify it incase your water filter brakes or some purification tabs, some electrolyte powder can make the water you purify taste better and replace important salts and minerals you lose by sweating. Some high calorie food to give you an energy boost to keep you going. Some navigation like a map and compass. Some light durable gloves to protect your hands. A headlamp to keep both hands free when treating wounds or map reading etc.. Maybe some smaller denomination bills so you don’t have to pay 20 for something that costs a few bucks if they don’t have change to give you.

if you want to carry a few barter items... put some p51, can openers, first aid items, soap, toilet tabs, etc. not ammunition.

I would personally take my Mathew’s V3X with 5mm FMJ ARROWS with broad heads, last item is my harden still knife so I can make shelter, I can make fire, fillet fish.

Great video man!! For your glowsticks I recommend The cyalum chemlights which the US military uses, they are fairly cheap and they last forever in a bag until you need them. You can get them on Amazon I believe or wherever they sell them. Other than that great video and your presentation is awesome, keep it up!

Well he did say he’s in Ohio. You can literally walk a mile or so in any direction and find a water source. Creek, pond, house bib, 7-11.😮 I get that a metal bottle is extremely useful.

Yay.. Another bug out bag where the primary user appears to not really know what's inside.

    • @rogerjensen5277
      @rogerjensen5277 ปีที่แล้ว

And what happens when that night or two turns into a week or two, do you turn into one of those people who think that they'll just take other people's stuff, good luck on that!

@@rogerjensen5277 My philosophy regarding SHTF has always been that it is an unknown event with a potentially unknown duration. Because of this, you might consider preparing for an event that may last months or years, or perhaps the foreseeable future. This is why some have a 72 hour bag, and others grow gardens and stockpile supplies for long term use.

All of these bug out bags are overblown with tools, firearm stuff, and tactical looking/attention attracting items. A buyout bag should accommodate human needs. Those are universally the same. If a bag has those items, it doesn’t matter what you call it or where it is. It’s just a bag of resources to meet needs while you leave danger and head towards safety. Firearms may or may not be part of such a kit.

Too much stuff on the outside to snag on branches or when going over or under obstacles. Also why let everyone you pass see what you are carrying. The knife must always be on your pocket never clipped on your pack, too easy to lose.

Hey friend, what you do at 15:02 looks an awful lot like something the ATF would eagerly consider as manufaturing a destructive device. You may want to edit that out. Stay safe.

The bag is a 5.11 rush 12. They also make a newer version with a few changes more suited for the urban environment like carrying a laptop and also a concealed compartment for a pistol . But if you want to run a water bladder get the original rush 12 as they sealed up the slots for the hose on the new version.
