I just bought 6 more esclepias tuberosa and also have 3 incarnata (swamp milkweed). I have several coneflower but those have been the most temperamental plant I’ve had. I have it in several different locations with slightly different soil and they always tend to look not very healthy. I also planted tons of zinnia seeds for the first time because my neighbor always has them and they’re full of butterflies. My monarda didyma (bee balm) is by far the star of the show. It’s covered all day long in bumble bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, wasps. Because of this, I planted about 15 more sf of it. The dark burgundy heirloom variety is the best. Editing to add that my Speedwell Veronica is super popular this year with a large variety of bees

I have planted Swamp milkweed several times, but it hasn't done well, I don't think I can keep it wet enough. I love Zinnia's, I always plant lots of seeds, the butterflies love it. I do have an area of my garden with Bee balm. I love it blooms early and gives my garden some action early in the summer. Keep up the great work!

@@davethebutterflyguy9841 Thanks Dave! Sorry for the very late reply. I never got a notification until today when someone liked the comment. I’ve been meaning to pop in here and ask you if you’re seeing any more butterflies. I have not seen many! I have loads of different kinds of bees which is awesome, plus milkweed beetles (boo!) and just a whole host of insect life.

I better hit the garden center haha

Cool those are great plants! I’d recommend purple top verbena and globe thistle. Fantastic pollinator plants.

I just bought some Verbena, I look forward to watching it this summer. The word thistle makes me nervous. I don't know much about Globe Thistle. I have lots of invasive thistle across the back of my yard.

I already have a caterpillar on my rue!! I've never had butterfly caterpillars before in my garden (that I've noticed) so I'm super excited! It's doubled in size since I first noticed it!
If you ever come across a plant named Cape Plumbago (Auriculata), butterflies also love this one. It is more of a tropical plant so it would be an annual in your area. Beautiful disks of sky blue flowers! I consistently see them visit this one! Pentas (Star Flower) is another great one, an annual. They always flock to these as well.

Thanks Dave have to see if I can find some of those plants. I live in Wisconsin so we somewhat get the same weather found some of those Butterfly bush seeds not sure if it’s too late to start them this year keep looking for the plants.❤

You should have success with all the plants I showed. Butterfly Bush is a little less tolerant of our climate. I have lost a couple over the years but have two really healthy plants that have been around for a few years. Good Luck!

I am installing a new pollinator bed this year. I love the agastache as well. I’m adding many native plants to me (upstate NY).

Love the shopping trip! Glad you’re paying 😊 but wasn’t bad for all the perennials you purchased. Can’t wait to see your garden with the new additions, and see who shows up this year🦋

Thanks Michele. I got all the plants into the garden the past couple of days. Today a nice beautiful rain, which I hopes help these plants thrive! I appreciate you watching!
