I read your forum trying to figure out how to tape this without a helper. But I don't understand it. Is it possible you make a video how one person can put this tape on? Thanks a million.
karate gal this is weird since it was 2 yrs ago but u can tear off one end of the tape and Apply it normally just peel off the paper and stretch and slowly apply/ bending with your elbow
Since the last round of instructional videos we have put a lot of energy in to developing highly effective taping techniques that are also as simple and easy to apply as can be. This application is the result of that effort. We continue to work hard to bring you effective apps in their simplest form. Thanks for the great question!
I'm a gymnast and I got diagnosed with medial epicondylitis (golfer's elbow) yesterday (Tuesday) and I have a gymnastics meet this weekend that I HAVE to compete in. (My doc said I can choose to not compete if it hurts too much).,... So I may have to use this. Saving to watch later so I can watch it later.
I was thinking about using this while playing golf. I have never had tendonitis but do ocassionally get pains in my elbow. Would it be wise to use this in order to help prevent injury, or would that cause it to get weak once i stop using it?
Would this be the same taping I would use for Pronator Teres strain? I injured it doing bicep concentration curls. PS: Would hitting the tape ends w/a quick shot from a blow dryer help the adhesion? Thanks!
You might want to adjust the tape a little for Pronator Teres strain. One popular method is to target tape placement where you have pain. The blow dryer idea might work, but rubbing the tape will probably help better than the heat from the blow dryer. The best thing to help is to use alcohol wipes to clean the skin before using tape, which removes skin oils that often weaken the tape. Here is our Taping Tips video: th-cam.com/video/hX47dApoKO4/w-d-xo.html
Is this the same taping for pain above the elbow kind of at the bottom of the bicep on the interior of the arm? I'm a badminton player at an advanced level. I've been getting pain where my bicep meets the inside part of the elbow. Almost in between the bicep and tricep in the hollow section. I hope this makes sense.
Tennis elbow is a completely different tendon. This is for the tendon connected to the bony part at the most interior part of your elbow, or Medial Epicondylitis, tennis elbow would be somewhere on the outward area of the elbow, not sure, but maybe the full opposite side. (8 years later)
There are several components to treating tennis elbow at home. One plan I found which succeeds in merging these is the Freds Elbow Helper (check it out on google) without a doubt the most helpful plan that I have ever seen. Check out the interesting info .
Yeah good luck keeping this stuff on if you sweat. Plus, I challenge anyone that says you can do this application on your own to post a video proving it.
Here's a video we just released with a self-taping method for Golfer's Elbow, showing Chris Harper taping himself: th-cam.com/video/mhHUOdguPSE/w-d-xo.html If you're having trouble getting your tape to stick through sweat, let's see if we can change that. Under most conditions, the tape will easily stick through sweat when properly applied. One thing to keep in mind is that everyone's skin can react very differently to tape. For skin types that have difficulty with adhesives, we recommend our PRO Extreme tape (www.kttape.com/kt-tape-pro-extreme/) with an extremely strong adhesive. Here is a video with some taping tips that you could follow to make sure that your tape sticks effectively, including prepping the skin and ensuring that you put your tape on 30-60+ minutes before rigorous activity to give the adhesive enough time to set: th-cam.com/video/hX47dApoKO4/w-d-xo.html
I am assuming that this is a bracing technique, if so why not use ordinary tape. I keep seeing videos off guys putting tape over tape??? Kinesio tape was designed to create more blood and lymph flow to areas lacking in blood flow for example the tendon on the epicondyle. putting K tape over K tape is off no use whatsoever?
Actually you don't need 3 tapes. You only need 1 tape and that's the blue one(as shown in the video) but shorter. It don't have to be that long. I have been doing it and it all good. in fact I don't have to waste so many tapes.
If that works for you, go for it. Everyone's pain is slightly different. Here is our new Golfer's Elbow video: th-cam.com/video/mhHUOdguPSE/w-d-xo.html
Ok, sorry, but that looks like a major pain in the ass, especially if you have to do it everyday. And MOST people don't have a trainer on hand to apply the tape.
Not true. I paste both tennis and golfer's elbow by myself and it is perfect. Also, a KT tape or Rock tape actually last up to 10 days with daily showering and workout (If pasted right). However, it is usually removed after 5 days as the tension of the tape has weaken.
+RoyalCaoCao you do this by yourself?? Impressive, I'm intrigued and its to the point where I have to stop playing basketball and weight lifting completely now the pain is becoming sharp and acute.
CloverPickingHarp Well, having someone to paste is still the best, but then, you need to spend time educating he/she on how the tape works and the elasticity. Personally, my golfer + tennis elbow was extremely serious and I stopped lifting for 1 full year. Even after resuming, there's still pain occasionally. Since it's sharp and acute for you, I would definitely suggest you to rest and ice. When the pain lessens, start massaging and foam rolling gently. If it's within your fiance, definitely seek for a sports doctor, be it physio, dry needing, etc.
Great clear and thorough instructions!
It totally worked with a compression sleeve so I couldn't lock out my elbow took 3rd in javelin at state thanks
One of the great uses of the tape is for injury prevention. It won't cause any atrophy.
This is perfect, it's so hard to do it by yourself though!
True, this app is really much easier to apply if you have someone to help you.

It's a piece of cake for one person to apply - if you have 3 hands.
Yes. Let us know how it goes!

What period put kt tape on the body
You may need a customized application. I would visit our website and go to the "ask an expert" forum and one of our pros will hook you up.
What is the difference between placing the tape like this and placing it like you have showed in the other tennis elbow video?
Colors are for personal preference....they do not mean anything.
@@aggirl52703 there were only two tapes placed on that one. This one has three.

KT Tape This helps. Thanks. I did buy the pro tape. I will follow these instructions and see what happens.
Was it PRO or PRO Extreme that you bought? Our PRO tape is our best seller, and our PRO Extreme is a newer variety with even stronger adhesive.
KT Tape Pro. I didn't see the Extreme when I purchased. I guess I will try that when I run out of what I have.
Great. Yeah, see how those taping tips help and if you still need more adhesive strength try the Extreme.

Big ol roll of duck tape will do the same thing.
Right, because duck tape is flexible and has actual effect...
