FFVII Rebirth Aerith Solo Vs Gilgamesh (No Damage, Hard Mode)

- I did it! 😄 After hours and hours and HOURS of practicing, I can’t believe I did it!!! This was so challenging! I’m exhausted from this one lol .My load out is shown at the end. So lets get into this in-depth lol.
First off, before beginning the fight I made sure my team members were at 1HP so they can die right at the start lol. Why? Because if they’re kept alive and with lots of HP, Gilgamesh will go after them during the fight too, and it can throw off your parrying.
First thing we need is transcendence. We need that charging to use later. And, we also need Radiant ward. Now here’s the thing with Gilgamesh, you have to time when to use your abilities because he stays on the offense. I found that the best openings are after moves like double thurst, or triple slash, or pinwheel, or retaliating sweep.
Next we also need arcane ward. And then haste. And the Faith for damage. And remember this is all set up just for part 1 of the fight before he’s even staggered LOL. Yes, we need all this!
Once he’s staggered, throw out transcendence for good damage, ATB boost, and Fire. Man, I wish we had swiftcast. Woulda made this fight way easier lol.
Phase 2, we want to build on pressure and break his shield here. Same stuff, parry, fire, but make sure you keep 1 ATB befofe his legend swing. Because when you use a Summon during this, it will make you immune to it.
Final phase, throw out limit, during it use syngery ability. And as I have explained, sadly this is the only way to no damage Gilgamesh solo with Aerith. Why? Because as soon as Aerith comes out of her limit, she gets hit and dies and nothing you can do. Even with the immunity from limit. Also, the other characters when they use limit here, gilgamesh changes phases to pressured / shield phase. Aerith limit doesn’t do damage, and she just dies right after it. So only workaround I found was team syngery to make him change phase.

To answer some questions I assume many might be wondering about-
1) How do you fight him on hard mode? - Use a New game file. Finish the game without defeating him yet. Then, load this save as NG+, and you can select hard mode 😎
2) Why did you use a team command in final phase after limit? Because sadly that is the only way to no damage this with Aerith. Once Aerith comes out of her limit, she immediately gets hit by his attack, regardless of the physical immune limit, and dies. Every other characters limit here damages him and changes his phase to shield. Aerith limit doesn’t do damage to change his attacks to his shield phase, and sadly you will just get hit and die right after getting out of her limit, UNLESS, you throw a team command to force him to change phases.
I was about to ask how to the easiest way to set up a file to do just a Gilgamesh fight is 😅Very interesting that the backline synergy ability is the only way to shift phases 🤔🤔
Parrying this guy is so fun though, I love his voice lines!!
@@nepheneethedestroyerluckily I had a save file from my first play at the final boss! But still had to grind for abilities, levels, materia and protorelic missions to unlock this again. Not fun haha.
Yeah I’m sad about the synergy use, but it’s the only way to not die right after getting out of limit and to change phases! The other characters no damage I did of this, their limits damage him and changes him to phase change. So much easier 😅
and yup, parrying him is fun! Felt like I was playing Sekiro! lol

I also liked it when Aerith said "I was dying to see you" as she summoned the phoenix
HpMP swap?????? DIABOLICAL. I also found it hilarious that she was in her vacation gear and she was NOT fucking around. Another amazing video. Even Barret ran away when he got in the way. Aerith was in pure beast mode.
haha thank you! 😄 Aerith was cruising in Vacation mode while also in beast mode against a superboss haha. This was honestly a very exhausting challenge. But it felt so nice to learn his parry’s. Felt like I was playing Sekiro haha. Really wish we could replay this without the need of a new game file where he wasn’t defeated. Having to grind my new game file to get to this fight and also have decent materia and abilities was a painnnnnnn. never again lol.
I almost broke my controller at this fight. Got it done at lvl 49. But looking at your way of approach, it gave me sincere satisfaction to see you woop his ass like it's nothing. Thanks for your wild effort for my happiness.

God tier blocks. There are just some things you achieve with practice and some things you can’t. TBH even with a lot of practice I won’t be able to achieve this level of reflex but it has been inspiring. This kind of videos make me look forward to new game plus!

This is nuts. I just finished my first play-through and I had no idea how to effectively use Aerith in combat (Yuffie was my preferred fighter). So to see you do something like this is impressive.

Square needs to make a couple mods in part 3. 1) toggle on or off the reddening of the screen when a character is low on hp/dead. Would make solo fights better to see. 2) Sliding scale on particle effects would be nice. Sometimes it's just too much

in order to be able to parry that attack, you need to have precision defense materia maxed out!
This blows my mind bro.. I honestly get frustrated using Aerith I find her way slow to build ATB...
@@oblongoneg6096 thanks bro!!😁 yeah it’s a huge patience game with Aerith! Luckily she now has Radiant ward so that helps build ATB faster. She takes time to prep and get ready during battle but once all her wards and ATB and everything is set, she becomes a tank for bosses to deal with 😅
How exactly does precision defense work?
I never used it so far...
it increases the parry timing window, so it can help with parrying! and when maxed out, you can parry some attacks with exclamation marks. but I believe not all exclamation mark attacks can be parried. The swordplay attack you can’t parry even with maxed out precision defense materia. hope that helps!!

How do you explain how Aerith is immune to all of his attacks?
if you “perfect parry” it will make you immune to damage. If you mis-time the parry, or block instead, you will take damage. Also at the end, Aerith’s limit there makes her immune to all physical damage.

how do you redo the fight after beating him on normal mode
Use a New game file. Finish the game without defeating him yet. Then, load this save as NG+, and you can select hard mode. If you beat him on New game, you can’t fight him on hard on NG+ or again. Only way to replay him is keeping a save file that is before fighting him.
How was cait sith there? Isnt he gone by the time you can do this quest?
Since this is on NG+ hard, you can do chapter select and choose chapter 12. Cait Sith is in your party that way, he is still in your party at the start of chapter 12

Also how does your aerith have almost 5k MP?
@@timbahr1792 1). If you perfect parry, you will be immune to damage. “Precision defense” materia helps with the parry window. 2) Hp-Mp Swap is why she has so much MP.

@@ColdSoba-rx8bk 1) Use Precision Defense Materia! It helps with the timing! 2) lots and lots of practice 😄 I recommend to go to chapter 12, and practice parrying against Abzu. That fight helped me a lot on my first playthrough to get used to the parrying. You got this!!
