What bender did you find for $500 with a die and you dont have to build your own stand? I'm asking because I was looking at this to bend some tube for my baja.
You could buy a, Wixey WR300 TYPE 2, Digital Angle Gauge Protractor, it has a magnetic mount & zeros to any angle, +/- 0.1°. They are US$28 on eBay, including shipping. I found out that the AFFORDABLE BENDER, Bending Die is made out of cast aluminum, you could super glue or epoxy a piece of sheet metal on it to stick the Digital Angle Gauge to, I would not permanently stick the Digital Angle Gauge to the die since it can be used for other dies, your table saw, drill press or other uses!
@@EOTG_AK The dies are flat, you might get a incorrect reading from putting a Magnetic Angle Gauge on a round pipe! Furthermore a Magnetic Angle Gauge will not stick to Copper, Brass, Aluminum or Stainless Steel pipes!
Drill a small hole. 1/2" put a small piece of wire thru half of the hole in the center, I would go from the bottom since up. You could even drill this hole at a 45° down so you can see from without bending over. but that would be a little overkill. mounting its head high in the shop would be my route. . You now have a centered sight. just make sure your hole is in line with the center of the pivot point. A 1/2" or even 3/4" hold in that 2-12" rectangular frame should not affect the strength to a degree that would affect the strength of the too. That would be one way I would consider making this tool accurate I might even do one on each side to free up some restraints on working with the tool. , then mount a budget hydraulic piston and you have a $2,500 tube bender. Overkill much, lol Ps. share a link where you got it or at least brand and model. Drrr.JK
I googled 4ffordable bender and got nowhere. I want to fabricate my own roll cage seamless 1-5/8" CM tubing 0.100 wall. Can I chose the die that comes with it, and where can I get it?
8 minutes long video, dude didn't bend a thing
We want to see it in action !!!
Watch my build videos, I use it often!
i find it helpful knowing pros and cons of "cheap" tools, so that im prepared if im going to buy it, thanks for the video, keep up the good work!
You convinced me to go with a real bender. It's only $200 more. Thanks for the review
me too, i almost bought this one

Thomas Garrison just stick the angle gauge right on the tube and bend it.

A great honest video. Thank you...
Easier way of measuring your bend is to just use a magnetic digital angle finder.
this is pretty much a conduit bender with a bottle jack hooked up to it. it seems like it works tho

the thing I want to know is, can it be used in multiple degrees, on one piece of pipe?
Any chance you sell a blueprint for the cradle?
