Still own a 83 k2500 in 6.2, the most reliable vehicle Iv ever owned. Being educated in how all the circuits work does wonders for keeping them reliable.

Lol this motor actually blew up on me and I replaced it with a 6.0 LS , it was already starting to go bad when I got it

The clicking is the gp relay

Yeah , I ended up figuring that out turns out the truck won't start if the connection to the gp relay is not working

No fuel pump in tank, mechanical pump on engine block right front.

On the second battery you installed I noticed they have a skinny red and black wire were do they go too exactly 24:37 And on this one 28:52 the skinny wire in between the two positive cable does it connect to the alternator or somewhere else

They went to the break controller, the engine in this truck actually blew up and I did a LS swap on it , the video should be coming soon , , I still have the old motor , might rebuild it or just sell it

Those engines really don't like the low rpm lugging you can break the crank or blow the crank out of the block doing that they like moderate to high rpm 3 gear at 10 mph is not good on those

Thanks for the comment, I figure any engine doesn't really like heavy lugging , but I guess some are better than others,
I'm planning on doing a pretty heavy haul this week to pick up a tractor with it ,well see how she does

Its should do ok but expect it to be slow and try to keep the rpms up a bit these engine only made 130hp and 250 pound feet of torque so not a bit power house

Replace the balancer every couple years. You won't see if they are bad. They absolutely will snap the crank and destroy the block with it. They are decent engines just have to be familiar with their weaknesses. Also WD40 makes a great starting fluid for these. The starting fluid probably destroyed your glow plugs.

I heard WD40 used to be good for starting fluid on these but I heard WD40 changed their formula not long ago so is this still the case??

That may be possible. PB Blaster would be a better substitute.

@@MisterFuturtastic pretty much any diesel will start on any light oil , its better to use a light oil instead of starter fluid because its less volatile and less likley to cause pre ignition, a gasoline soaked rag can also work
