      Hopefully that does the trick! That or the pressure fuel module.

    did the truck runs atleast better with new crank sensor?

    • @jakealderman2169

      Yes. I had 2 stalls after the 3rd day but it has run smooth ever since. I'm traveling 80 miles a day to and from work and I've been okay ever since the repair.

      @@jakealderman2169 that is awesome. I had same issue with my truck. It has done it a couple of times with it just does after starting, a couple of tries then it will start a again. Brand New pmd.

    Jake, my low mileage '94 runs great when I start it until it warms up. Mine will hiccup but continue to run. I replaced my crankshaft sensor because I diagnosed it was bad. Truck runs better but still getting hiccups when it warms up. any thoughts?

    • @jakealderman2169
      @jakealderman2169  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pressure fuel module. When it overheats it causes intermittent failure or hiccups. If you can fork up the money just pay for the new one. I replaced with 2 used before I bit the bullet and bought new from store.

      @@jakealderman2169 by pressure fuel module do you mean injector pump?

    • @jakealderman2169
      @jakealderman2169  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No not injector pump. PMD box I think some call it. It's a black box mounted on the right hand side. I'll attach a link of the part.

    how easy was it to put on

    • @jakealderman2169
      @jakealderman2169  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It wasn't very hard, it was harder finding the area that it went to honestly. Once you reach down in there and find the old one just be careful locking the socket on it and crank slowly to break old one loose. Kinda like a spark plug.

    I had an engine crank no start, replaced crank position sensor and started right away
    Checked pmd, lift pump, fuel filter, glow plugs and everything I could think of. I barowd a friends snap on scanner and found it to be the crank position sensor

    i am having an intermittent hiccup, and then after about 5-10 minutes idleing, the truck just cuts off? i thought it was the pmd, i have used 3 different pmds, did the oil pressure sensor and lift pump new and it is still having the hiccup occassionally and cuts off after about 5-10 minutes. but will start right back up. do you think the crankshaft position sensor will get rid of that hiccup?? best way i can describe the hiccup is: if this was a gas motor, it would be as if the spark plug was fouled and it was missing, run good for about 4 minutes and then the motor would hesitate, shake and "hiccup" and eventually cut off. what was your truck doing that you wanted/made you change the crankshaft sensor? thanks for any reply/help!!!

    • @jakealderman2169
      @jakealderman2169  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes 100 percent. It's a relatively cheap part and my truck was doing the exact same thing. Let me know if that fixes it. Sorry just seen your message on here!

    • @kevinsheehan983
      @kevinsheehan983 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you ever solve your trucks problem? I am having the same problem. I've replaced PMD, lift pump, oil pressure switch and now crankshaft sensor. I still have the problem. My truck will continue to run, great power minus the hiccups.

    • @albertgreen4907
      @albertgreen4907 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes i finally did find out what my problem was! it was bad diesel from a gas station i don't normally use. there was so much water built up in the peacock line, after i drained it and got all fuel out of the filter bowl and put fresh good diesel fuel inside the bowl, the truck after about 3 tries , came back to life!!! fired up and been running great ever since!! i drained that peacock where water would collect inside that hose that comes off the fuel filter bowl. will stay with my usual gas stations and will empty that line more regularly from now on!!
