    Very good review with lots of helpful tid bits of knowledge, you are truly one a kind with all the graphics and helpful narration with the flight crew making a huge difference I had the same experience from CHC-SIN VS SIN-SEA crew on SIA made the whole difference. World class page, truly anticipate your next review. Aloha from Hawaii

    What a feast for me to find another new video from you..one of your very best, as by now i think you found the right balance between natural sounds, music and voice over...well done!!! Interesting, i did not know that the QSuites had different sizes. And i loved your remark about QR crews virtually running:)) This is sooo true, i experienced it myself..the hardest working crews in the industry. Did you write a compliment note? Just imagine and compare this to those lazy crews of Iberia and the likes..and on LH they would probably even be forbidden to run by their trade union😅🤣 Food looked sensational..also thanks to your excellent filming. One always wonders how they can do it given the poor performance of other airlines. Again thank you for pricing the wine list..which again displays the weakness of QR in the wine department: they invest into their Bordeaus..but the rest is meeeh..EK remains to be much better in this. Finally, and only among ourselves a little secret. At the end of the sandwich bar you turned right towards the sleeping pods. Wrong choice! Next time turn left towards the family area..plenty and usually empty big pods whith real big couches!!! Of course, nobody will wake you up there..which can be a little problem in my experience, after an exciting night in an empty airport with full bars in the lounges🤣😂 Cheers!

      I'm beginning to get the feeling you might not be a fan of IB 😂- good to know about the Family Rooms- certainly would have assumed that I wasn't allowed in there haha. Thanks as always for your comments and watching 🙏

    That's honestly a very impressive looking business class lounge. I've never seen so many offerings before in any airport O.O
    Having seen 2 of your QSuites videos covering 2 different aircraft types, I think the lack of a full flat bed option is going to rule this out for me as a potential option. I pay a premium for non-economy primarily for the bed. The food is nice, but the main draw is the bed for me, and unfortunately I really do require a lie flat bed.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For passengers that sleep on their back, I doubt they would (or ever have) noticed it. But for me, it was a deal breaker in terms of sleep. "Luckily", I never have the expectation of true lay flat sleep on any flight, so I'd happily fly with them again. Thanks for watching 🙏

    You really need to fly ANA's The Room. Many vloggers have moved this to #1 business class. Primary reason is there is only about 50% chance that your Qatar flight will have Q-Suites. They grounded so many aircraft and now are dry leasing other airlines aircraft to run their flights.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d love to, but will do it when the price is right since I don’t review sponsored flights 😊 And you’re correct that QSuites aren’t always guaranteed… but The Room Is only available on a handful of flights in the world… so, hard to make that comparison lol. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    By the way, what were the Covid related paperwork protocols upon entry into Singapore? Do they just require proof of vaccination and that’s it?

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was a vaccination verification that was required and took a couple of days. Plus some other more standard forms all filled out online. I would recommend checking the most up to date info on Sherpa which is my goto resource for all up to date info. You input your nationality and vaccination status (no identity info) and they tell you what documents you need for each flight sector/entry. apply.joinsherpa.com is their page- despite the website name, there no need to apply or join anything to access the info.

    Unfortunately they are understaffed. At times only 10 crew where in economy alone they need to roll out 10 carts. Many of them have to handle both the galley and a zone, often having to do 2 carts.
    US and UK flights are their “high profiles” where the crew levels are higher, but when it comes to Africa or east Asia, they don’t really give too much attention. In fact, is the sectors where they “burn off” the products they need to get rid off from inventory

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The crew scheduling makes sense- but also had quite a few Singaporean crew on this flight so my first impression was that it wasn’t going to be the case. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

      Based on their banks at the moment 03:00-05:00 would be the most quiet time of the overnight/morning period. The banks at that time are:
      01:00-03:00 Departure
      04:00-06:00 Arrival
      07:00-09:00 Departure
      Luckily for you 03:00-04:00 specifically should be very quiet. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    I have flown in QSuites
    many times and have loved all of it each time, except for one flight. A few weeks ago I was flying from Doha to Seattle. On the provided menu, we are told that meals are all carte, order anything at any time. Shortly after take-off, the flight attendant came to take my order. It was morning in Doha but I wanted to order the dinner option so that my internal clock would be more ready for Seattle time. She was clearly annoyed that I did not want the breakfast option. I said that I wanted the dinner option and then she curtly said, "Well, it will take some time to heat it up". I was pretty frustrated with her attitude. I eventually received my meal, with no refill on my water or wine. When it was a couple of hours before landing, she came again and I reminded her that I wanted the breakfast option. She was again frustrated and said that it would "take time to heat it". When she brought it to me there was no breakfast bread basket one would normally receive. I asked her about it and she replied, again curtly, "None of it is heated". That was it. Her attitude throughout the flight was terrible, as if we were inconveniencing her.
    I can roll with just about anything. But, when so much money is paid for the QSuite, I expect "service with a smile", or at least service without a scowl. And, if the menu tells passengers we can have any option at any time, either do it or do not give us the option.
    I sent the feedback to Qatar but I doubt if I will receive a reply.
    My wife and I are flying in Qsuites next month and I still look forward to it. I think my experience was an aberration.😊

    I'll definitely check the Roam Above video - I love Singapore landings. I've read that lounge food in Doha (both Al Safwa and Al Mourjan) is partially prepared offsite due to airport regulations prohibiting open flames. If all they can do is reheat meals it has an impact on quality.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If that's it then certainly it might be part of the reason, but I mean... I've had food in the air that was cooked better 😂... Not to mention on cruise ships that follow the same regulations. Everyone has a sous vide machine these days! haha Thanks for watching 🙏

    Nice video! I’ll watch more in the future. One suggestion: on your next layover in Doha, I highly recommend spending the extra money for a one or two night layover in town. Doha is an interesting city and you can always arrange with the hotel concierge to have a half-day city tour. Lots to see in Qatar and the layover is a great way to catch up on badly needed sleep. PS: I’m like you in that I cannot sleep on long-haul flights.

      They're trying to accomplish two different things, so sure, the audience differs a bit between the two. As far as airport reviews, no it's not something feasible for me at this time. If you consider that most airports/airlines won't let you checkin more than 3 hours in advance, that gives you maximum 2 hours of "free" time inside the airport- I fill most of that time as it is filming for the trip report :) Thanks for watching 🙏

      I have- and after a lot of research and speaking to creator buddies I know- one having one of the biggest food channels on YT- I decided it was a no go for a few reasons, primarily bc it’s a very hard niche to break into because there are so so so many people doing it already. 2nd part is the meaningfully successful channels in that genre are (my opinion) more personality based than they are about the actual food and as much as I value my privacy, you’re not gonna see me on camera anytime soon 😂

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll add, this is what lead me to the Roam and Roam Above channels that I started a couple months ago. For Roam Above I’m beginning to film full length flights on the trip I’m on now.

    What I don't understand is, after buying such an expensive business class ticket in Q-Suite, you still have to pay another $10 bucks to use their inflight Wi-Fi !!!?! How classless and cheap are they? I paid $7290.38 my flight from COK to IAH for business class, and then I was asked to pay again when I asked for in-flight Wi-Fi which I had to pay. The whole reason I got a seat in Q-suite on this flight was so that I could work in peace and left alone.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish it was free too, but it’s standard practice. How on earth did you have a $7000 fare from India though? Did you buy the ticket like 8 minutes before departure? I haven’t seen fates that high since the 00s.

      Tbf, I don’t know why my fare was so high. I booked on Jan 8th and that was the fare they charged me. I fly this route regularly, and Singapore airlines Biz class fare is way cheaper and the flight is much more roomier and comfortable.

      Thought it was odd myself. I was the 3rd person off the flight and we walked up the jet bridge with the option of turning right down a corridor or walking straight through an (unmanned) open door into the terminal. hello. quick suggestion - most people like to see the food menu in detail. I think if you split up the appetizers/mains/dessert (just crop the image so its zoomed in), and give them 5 seconds each, you'll get a a fair amount of interest in that section.

    • @tfft

      What you're suggesting is certainly another way I may go in the future. From the four trip reports from JL and QR I'm tracking how many people actually do pause the video at the menus so that I can determine the best way to go for future flights. Trying to balance the fact that: 1. some people cannot easily zoom in, 2. some people are more interested in the drink offering, 3. some as you say want to focus on the food, 4. some want to see every square inch of the thing :) we shall see what it evolves to, but certainly may well be as you describe. Thanks for watching 🙏

      Hello Benjamin Breeg. Quick suggestion - most people like to see your mouth shut in detail. I think if you split up your tongue/lips/mouth (just crop the vocal cords so it's zoomed out), and give them 5 seconds each, you'll get a a fair amount of interest in that section.

    If you booked qsuite and they had to switch aircraft, would they let you change to the one with qsuite?

      Standard change procedures, fare differences and fees would apply. You’re buying transport in a specified class of service, not in a specified seat.

      Well you’re a charming fella aren’t ya? Thanks for the comment though, since even rude ones benefit the video 😍
      FYI, all of the excitement, pyrotechnics and jazz hands generally start at the seven minute mark.

    Qatar Airways ticks all the boxes & would be my airline of choice when we fly from SYD to LHR . However during COVID restriction there was an incidence in 2020 whereby nine Australian women taken off a Qatar Airways flight bound for Sydney on 2nd October 2020 and led through the bowels of the Hamad International airport to what appeared to be a dark carpark or turning circle, where three ambulances were waiting to perform medical examinations to determine if any of the women had recently given birth because a newly born baby was found abandoned in one of the airport bath room .The 9 women were told to remove their underwear in order to be examined. The Australian foreign affairs minister at that time , Marise Payne, said it was a “a grossly, grossly disturbing, offensive, concerning set of events”. I knew it is not the fault of Qatar Airways . However the treatment of those 9 Australian women are contravened to the basic human rights so Doha airport should be avoided at all cost unless you want to be strip searched

      Exactly why I wouldn't fly Qatar. As a female I don't want to run the risk of assault which is exactly what happened to these women. I don't care how good they are. Their hub makes it a dangerous location for a female.
