Well, I believe you'd want to lean towards a workstation GPU for both of those reason - its precision especially while working with long, intensive workloads. You can get the same precision from a desktop system, but in limited workloads / time-periods. However, for high workloads over long periods of time, high-end desktops are more prone to instability when compared to their workstation counterparts.
Hello! Windows 10 Pro for Workstations is required for Xeon-based systems, however, it can be installed on systems using an Intel Core i7/i9 processor and it will run the same, without issues. Unless you need one of the unique features found in Windows 10 Pro for Workstation, it's probably not worth the additional cost to switch if your device is already running on Windows 10 Pro.
Great question! Yes, not only are you able to install Windows 10 Pro for Workstations onto the Dell PoweredgeR720, you are required to if you are installing Windows 10 on that system. Remember, after the Fall Creators Update of 2017, if you are doing a new Windows 10 install onto any system running an Intel Xeon or AMD Opteron processor, you must use Windows 10 Pro for Workstations in order for that system to be in compliance.
thanks 😮
Thanks for explaining 🙏
Very helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome, Edward! And thanks for watching. It is very much appreciated.
I thought the pros of a workstation gpu vs a highend consumer one is the precision of output rather than stability in intensive workload.

Explained very well. 👌👌
this is good, what happens if you put workstation pro on a basic i7 or i9 ?

Could this work with a Dell PoweredgeR720

On my system the post takes about 10 times longer than the windows boot.

Hi. Can you please clarify or provide us with a timestamp for the section of the video you're referring to?
